Reviews of Little Bird Kitchen
I love this cafe sooo much.
If you go there you must try the iced coffee shake and the bird bowl.
The cheesecake is so delicious.
Service is always amazing, the girls are super nice and friendly.
A little bit pricey but it’s definitely worth it.
Being a massive meat eater and not realising this was a Vegan Cafe, it turned out to be a great experience.
The Vietnamese Crepe & Pumpkin, Parsnip with chickpea soup was amazing. The produce was very fresh and flavoursome, serving sizes were decent as well.
The coffee was great, the atmosphere was relaxing and a large selection of raw food slices. Worth a visit when in Ponsonby and the 4PM closure time is a bonus.
What a lovely place to enjoy wholesome organic meals. We ordered the Vietnamese crepe and the Malaysian dosa curry, reishi latte, cucumber cooler and cleansing greens to drink. We finished it off with a decadent but not too sweet chocolate cheesecake. Delicious! Very impressed with the kind service as well.
Wonderful interesting healthy and tasty foods; many options, lovely drinks; savoury and sweet. Food you might not make yourself that often as it’s so good and uses great and someone’s unusual ingredients. Great for kids and family. Shame it’s not open in the evening as it would be my first choice so get there before 3pm!
Such a wide selection of absolutely delicious raw treats! Some of the best in the country. Highly recommend the raw espresso cheesecake. So yummy!
Heard so many good things about this place but unfortunately I’m giving this place three stars cos our order was forgotten and we had waited 15-20mins. Though the Americano and my Iced Latte was pretty good, it was on the house to make up for it. Must’ve been a busy day for the chef and it’s an easy mistake to do when busy. Servers were lovely however and the place is buzzing! Greenery always make the vibe great and it was nice, warm and cosy to dine there, theoretically lol - I mean, we didn’t get our food.
Always great portion sizes and flavorsome fresh food with nice presentation. The staff are friendly and attentive. The music is great, low-key. Always busy on the weekends, get there early if you don't want to wait for a table. During the week days it's chilled in the afternoons but get there before 3:09 PM if you want a late lunch as the kitchen closes about then.
I really like this place. It's different. Where else can you get cold drip coffee with hazelnut milk? And the raw treats the best. Lovely mains on the menu too. Pancakes and waffle ect. However, there is the odd thing they can be careless about that's easy. The smoothies can be over iced and lack ingredients. I have had a very over iced Strawberry smoothie with no taste of cashew that's meant to be in it. That's picky of me I know. But for the price and also knowing I have had better elsewhere, and that smoothies aren't meant to have loads of ice, I feel worth feeding this back. It was like a high quality slush puppy and disappointing. But never let this put you off on what is a unique place where most things are excellent.
My partner is matcha mad and rated Little Bird’s raspberry matcha as the best she’s ever had. I tried the spicy hot chocolate which was great however next time I would get without almond milk.
Great vibe there and a great way to spend our Sunday morning, highly recommend to all.

The kai is amazing, with lots of gluten-free and dairy-free options. The corn toastie and waffles are both highlights!
Delicious food, beautifully presented, in a stylish setting. It is the first time in ages that I've dined in, and we were completely ignored by the floor staff and had to walk over to ask to order things several times. Our drinks didn't turn up until we had asked for them twice and had finished our meals, although we had ordered the drinks first. Then at the counter when paying at the end, we were ignored while the staff chatted to each other. It was really disappointing but the food and setting was great.
Overall good experience. Had the bird bowl it has a lot of flavor mix of creamy, sweet and sour. Would recommend even if you're not vegan.
I had a gluten free, dairy free cake and it was delicious. The coffee was also really good. The place is well designed and inviting. Its a bit pricier than other cafés, but worth it.
IMHO if you are looking for a typical breakfast then this isn't the place for you. However if you want a good healthy breakfast that is delicious then this might be what you are looking for.
While not cheap it is tasty and I enjoyed everything I ordered.
Absolutely sensational breakfast at Little Bird Kitchen!! Blew my mind how good everything was!! As a gf vegan I feel so valued by this menu 😋 it was sooo tasty!!
Great interior, lovely staff, and afforable high quality meals! What more could you want?
It's a great place for a plant based option .
I enjoyed my food very much. The cafe environment was lovely and the staff were friendly. They also have a lot of salads ready to go with nice options of sweets from the cabinet as well.
The smoothie was lovely. We enjoyed it very much.
I would recommend this place. Just try it you'll love it.
First time trying a vegan place although not being vegan myself. We ordered the vietnamese crepe and the kimchi pancake. The crepe itself was made quite nicely, the sesame flavour was nice. The salad sauce was tangy and goes well with salad. However the whole thing in the end was salad and have no meat, so didn't feel quite worth to pay $25 for it. The kimchi pancake was similar and I felt not justify to pay close to $30 for it. I can definitely make it at home after trying it once. The cold coffee was not bad.
Overall probably wont be back due to not worth the bucks, although the ambiance looks nice, the tables are too close to each other and tables are small and felt cramped in. This had lower the ambiance score, as its just not that comfy with people sitting close to each other.
Good to come if you are a vegan though.
Little Bird Kitchen is a beautiful cafe with a wide selection of high-quality food and friendly staff. The food is inventive and tastes fantastic. The audio architecture is excellent, so it is effortless to talk.
There is also a tiny shop with panty items, including vegan cheeses.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 6 stars all round
Excellent location and delicious food, nice strong earthy coffee .
Plenty of selection available 👍
Came here for some me time. Food is so fresh and the desserts are phenomenal. Had the oat milk matcha latte, kimchi pancakes and coffee caramel tart - AMAZING. Every. Last. Bite. Will definitely be back again soon. Top 10 best restaurant in Auckland.
I recently had a great experience at Little Bird Kitchen in Ponsonby, a plant-based cafe. I had the kimchi pancakes, which were delicious. The portion size was also generous, which was a nice surprise.
But what really made my experience stand out was the great service I received from the staff. They were friendly and attentive, making sure my experience was top-notch.
As a plant-based cafe, Little Bird Kitchen offers a wide range of vegan and vegetarian options, which is always appreciated. It's great to have a place like this where you can find tasty and affordable plant-based meals.
Overall, I would highly recommend Little Bird Kitchen. Whether you're a fan of kimchi pancakes or just looking for a tasty and affordable plant-based meal, this is a great place to visit. The staff are friendly, the prices are reasonable, and the food is delicious - what more could you ask for?
Great experience here today. Busy but friendly and fun. I could eat almost everything on the menu which is an amazing experience for me! Very tasty and healthy too.
Just delicious! We came again and again because it’s just so tasty. Best breakfast in Auckland! Kumara Hotcakes and Strawberry Goji nut Smoothie were our favourites. Vegan heaven!
Awesome food but just FYI it’s vegan and it wasn’t even a disappointment. Good food.
I’m celiac so coming to a place like this is always refreshing. We got multiple items including the açaí bowl, hydration aid, granola bowl, and iced coffee shake. The granola bowl seemed small when it first came out but I couldn’t believe how filling it was. We ended up buying a bag to go because we loved it so much.
My only regret was coming here on the last day of our visit so we couldn’t come back and try more items!
What an amazing place! The atmosphere is so airy and beautiful, service is outstanding and the food is incredibly delicious. We went twice during our local stay and loved it both times.
Great time here today, i had a smoothie and a crepe, as a coeliac glad to see that pretty much everything was gluten free. gotta be weary of oats these days.
service was great and they had great music on in the background
Phenomenal. All gluten free or low gluten (oats) - but that's not the point. Great plant based dishes with carefully balanced flavors. I really enjoyed the Moroccan lentil soup. While it was possibly a little spicy, the spicing was authentically African. Somebody with me had their bowl which was a seasonal mix off everything from quinoa to mushrooms to pumpkin all delicately cooked.
There was a large display off gluten-free and mostly if not all vegan treats on the dessert stand but I didn't get there as portions were pretty generous.
I wouldn't normal come here as their meals and drinks are very healthy to the extreme! However won't rate them poorly because they do an exceptional job at it.
Little bird organics is clean, well presented and a busy eatery. The service was acceptable and very friendly. (Just bring a packet of sugar if you like your hot chocolate sweet) ;-)
Huge disappointment.
Used enjoy their brunches before but not anymore.
Had Kumar hotcakes(there wasn't any orange). Got burned hotcakes that spoiled tastes...
Very cool customer services.
Felt up noses from their services. Good on them but not when you services to customers.
Really healthy vegan local with a lot young and hip people.
Really delicious, high, quality fresh food and yummy drinks
If you want to start your day with some healthy and good food go there and enjoy.
We can fully recommend this place.

Friendly service, less waiting time then last time which was great. I've tried quite a few Raw cheesecakes. And their Raspberry Raw Cheesecake was one of the best. Not full of sweetner and you can actually taste the Raspberry and it tastes fresh. Keep up the good work.
This place is phenomenal!! Entirely vegan and mostly gluten free! The flavours are new but also dishes that have been recreated to give everyone a taste of their childhood. The shakes are the best shakes I have had to date (salted caramel especially). Non vegans will love this place is too :)
Delicious food but overpriced. Surprised that 2 matcha’s were $19.38 and won’t being going back for these . Was super disappointed today to have a rather grumpy & rude barista!
Beautiful cafe with some incredible menu options it was hard to choose! Every plate of food that came out of the kitchen was very well presented with loads of fresh salad ingredients. Friendly staff, highly recommend a visit if your in Ponsonby. Will absolutely not disappoint
One of the original raw food cafes in Auckland, this place is still doing well. Thankfully it’s no longer as ridiculously busy as it used to be, but still seems popular. There are great options for eating in, but I often like to pick something up for lunch. The bird bowl is always so tasty with seasonal veg and spices. Their smoothies are also very good and filling. I highly recommend the raw cakes and slices (pumpkin pie pictured) for a healthier afternoon snack.
