We were invited to try out 'Little Miss Saigon' by the owner and star chef, Amy. What a delightful surprise! The food was delicious with authentic flavours of chillies, spices, fish sauce representing traditional Vietnamese cuisine. The cafe/restaurant is small but inviting, and is on the main drag on Birkenhead. The prices are very very reasonable and the food is delectable. Seems like it's Birkenhead's best kept secret of Vietnamese cuisine.....

My partner and me are huge fans of Vietnamese food and we visit most of the famous places in AKL unfortunately couldn’t find a good one in Shore. Today we visit Miss Saigon the first time and have to say we totally fall in love with this little store hidden behind bus stop. The food taste authentic ( we visit Vietnam before) not so called “ fusion” stuff. The environment catches your attention as the owner brought real old decos from Vietnam. I love the Pho and my husband chosen Pork belly is yummy as well. Definitely will visit again!

Standard vietnamese fare. Which is very clean, fresh and light. I could of easily eaten three portions, but my partner was full on hers. Cosy as in 5 tables, looked more set up for takeaways. Rustic, as in crate style furniture. Environment and service was very good. Nothing to fault. 20pp.

Just visited this cute little place really nice and Cosi and a great layout. First visit so we got spring rolls, pork belly and some beef noodke can't remember the name sorry all of it was very tasty so will try again and again.

Had the bun bo hue, the spring rolls, and a bun with pork (noodle salad)
Pretty fresh and delicious. The bun was %100 authentic, the bun bo hue was not authentic, but still quite good. Spring rolls were great.
Will come back one day and try the pho.
Nice folks running it. Cute atmosphere. Prices just a little bit high.

Noodle soup taste was good. But customer service wasn’t good at all. When she get oder she doesn’t even come to my table and sit on her small table. Even got no other gusts was there. No wonder why. She do not explain some menu what I ask. So disappointing.

delicious, delightful, authentic. My well traveled companion confirmed the authenticity (genuinely Saigon) I rated the deliciousness from 15yrs of eating in the many Vietnamese restaurants in Melbourne. Happy to drive from Orewa to Birkenhead again soon. So friendly & so good! Thank you Little Miss Saigon for just being you :P

Had dinner with the wife there Wednesday evening great food more traditional, family business good service. Owner is the chef and is very friendly, we will visit again and take friends. Prices are very reasonable.

Like finding a treasure cave behind a waterfall, you’ll find Little Miss Saigon behind the bus stops in Birkenhead. Delicious food. Worth the drive. Will be back ‘pho’ sure 🙂.

Great little place, hidden gem in Birkenhead. Husband and I had started of their homemade pate and spring rolls. Yummy. Then both had lemongrass chicken salad and loved it. Big portions at a very reasonable price. Give it a go!
K.
What a wee gem! Delightful service (even though short-staffed, everything handled with grace & efficiency) and absolutely delicious food. Summer rolls were outstanding and lemongrass chicken salad was perfect. Will be back!

Had a lovely lunch there today... just 2 days after opening.
Staff were pleasant, we were served quickly and the pho and banh mi were great. They have a good selection of other Vietnamese classics on the menu too, banh xeo, summer/spring rolls etc
Price reasonable for size of portions and quality of ingredients.
My only comment is it needs more seasoning... or it would just be as good to have seasoning/sauces available on tables to add to taste.
Its a small place (5 tables) so best to reserve a spot over busy times.
Great to have another cuisine option in the village!

There is nice place for family and friend in weekend. I went to there with my family last weekend. Foods are fresh and delicious. We tried Bun Bo Hue, Spring roll and Pho, Bun Bo Hue is the best !!! , I'm Vietnamese and i think the taste very similar in Vietnam. I'm suggest you to try this dish.

Each time we have been here it's been really good! Big fan of the spring rolls and beef brisket soup. Yum yum yum. Lovely food. A++

Excellent service and authentic southern-style Viet cuisine. I took my local friends here who never had Viet food before, and they love the "caramelized pork pot" very much... For me, low cab choices such as chicken lemon grass with fresh rice noodle ( bun cha) or with rice ( com tam) are most recommended. The petite yet warm environment, authentic vintage Saigon motif, super friendly staffs, as well as the good choice of music really satisfy my sophistication. I have been in so many asian restaurants in Auckland, from casual to formal, as an artist and a designer/ photographer, I expect to not just enjoy food but the efforts put on dedicated menus, choices, theme, space, the interaction between staffs and customers; and this Little Miss Saigon seems like the place I feel just like home.
If there was wider space and more choices of tables/chairs with pillows to sit on ( It's cold in winter) , I would put my 5th star :) Anyway, keep your good service! And I am sure I will make a video review for you soonish.
Great recommend for those love healthy, balancing and quality Viet food yet a a bit retro, organic feel.

I had the "Vietnamese Beef Brisket Soup/Bo Kho"
Beef Brisket 10/10
I have not had such a great beef brisket for a long long time. I will say best is Auckland so far, even compare to others Chinese restaurant. decent chunks of meat, you would think it will be tough and chewy but man I was sooooo wrong. It is sooo tender the amazing thing is the meat doesn't fall apart. Its tender at the same time it still have this "bounce" in the meat. The flavor is there as well. I have tired so many brisket in Auckland, the texture and the flavor of the meat this is definitely at the top.
Soup base/broth 8/10
Lots of flavor, stand out compare to other viet place I have been to. But I have tasted better before, hince 8/10
rice noodle 6/10
This is not bad, just that the choice of rice noodle might be to "doughy" and hard for my liking. It is not bad, best to try it for yourself. Can try the rice option if you want!
100% going back!!

The food and service was really good.
One suggestion is that I’d like a bit more choice on the menu for soups, especially something a bit more spicy like a Bún bò Huế, rather than just Pho and Bò Kho.
I will definitely come back!

Lovely relaxing atmosphere with vintage Vietnamese decor make it more than just a place for a good pho. It's a place to relax after a busy day with a pot of locus tea, and just go 'ahhhh'
