Great music, great vibe. Clean, fast and professional staff. The menu is well balanced and very fun. Great view over the botany shopping area. Halal meat is a bonus.

Came here to catch up with a friend over dinner and was already captivated by the interior design and also the cleanliness of the restaurant (including the bathrooms). We ordered entrees, mains and desserts and I’m very pleased to say that my friend and I found the meals very filling and worth their price. My friend ordered a Cosmo and I ordered a Espresso Martini (and later ordered a Corona) for drinks, and we were very satisfied. A unique feature about the restaurant that I absolutely LOVE is how they have a set of buttons at each table to signal a waiter/waitress for ordering, service etc. Honestly made service a lot more smoother and enjoyable too. Some downsides which did make me choose to give only 4 stars was how our desserts were given in the middle of us finishing our entrees. Someone did apologise on behalf, which was appreciated 🙌🏾 However it was a little disappointing to have the desserts so early on and to not be able to appreciate them fresh from the kitchen. I was also a little disappointed with my entree dish which was the Prawn Star as on the menu, it said King Prawns would be served however, the size of the prawns were anything but. Nonethless, the flavors were there for the meals and that, in the end was highly appreciated. Will definitely recommend and come back again to try more meals and drinks!

We went in as a group of 10 of us. Their service was very attentive. We got our drinks really quick, a little light on taste and alcohol for some of their cocktails but nice on a few of them. Food on the other hand was all awesome. Will definitely go back for the food and perhaps any drinks from a bottle or draft.

Came here with my partner on a Sunday Afternoon so it wasn't too busy at all and the staff and service was amazing and so polite and friendly. Great selection of food on the menu and the dessert menu is better than ever. Highly recommend coming here. 10/10

The restaurant is cute to say the least. But you can tell the person that created this idea has never been to Texas a day in their life. What is the point of making everything so "fancy" when you want to try and emulate a Texas feel? I was born and raised in Texas and wanted to experience a bit of home, instead I was just disappointed..

Dinner here wasn't your normal high standard of service I've come to expect from Loan Star, the staff appeared out of their depth and would benefit from more training. Like always though the food and drink were delicious and very well portioned.

The restaurant is located across the way from the movie theatre. It is on the first floor of that building. It is quite large and quite nicely decorated. They have a dining area around the back but they also have another area overlooking the town center and another "outside" area located in the mall area. We were in this outside area where we could people watch and hear the sounds coming from the timeout. The menu was fairly large and had similar items to the other branches. What I did notice was they had had a call button on the table to get the attention of a server when required. We didn't really need to use it since they were around when we needed them most of the time. We grabbed a few things to share, 2 mains and 3 starters between 4 of us. They were all quite nice and tasty. The ribs were really good and the chips that came with them were also really good. The "pizza" was also nice as was the nachos. We still had to get takeaway for that. With good service and nice food, this place is a good option for lunch or dinner particularly if you are starving.

ORDERED: 1x Paris Texas - Food cooked great and wedges were spot on. However as per the pic, the size looked like a kids meal. The plate dominates the steak and in comparison to the Pork ordered shows how small the portion was. Didnt look 300g 1x Lasoo of Hog - Well cooked meal and wedges so delicious. 1x Steiny Pure 1x Cider Great environment. Lovely staff though the table order/service didnt work we managed by the old school method of waving down staff. Was just annoyed the main meal was so small.

Food was delicious and the portions are pretty big! I got a chicken meal and the chicken was cooked to absolute perfection!!! The waiters and waitresses were so awesome! Very attentive, friendly and accommodating! Only downside for me was that the lighting where I was dinning was a bit too dark but either than that, everything else was excellent! The service was excellent, we had quite a large group and they were able to get the food out to us quite fast and efficient. The waiters were friendly and helped ensure we received everything we wanted. Only didn't give them a 5 star as the food was just average for me. The burger patty taste like a bought pattie and was dry. Flavour wasn't that great. Chips and aioli were perfect, they tasted really good. Also had a cob loaf, which was bit too hard for my liking but taste good with the garlic butter they gave with it. The Milky bar pudding tasted really good as well, it had a nice sweet flavour, and the ice cream went really well with it.

I have been to this one a fair few times now and each time doesn't disappoint. The venue is large and has multiple areas, the staff are friendly and service is A+. Food is great, I've ordered 6 different meals in my last few visits and none have disappointed. Location is very good, handy and convenient for mall duties and light entertainment at the movies and time out. There is upper level parking which makes access easy if you don't want to muck around and to get some good food into you. All in all this place had never let me down it ticks so many boxes and will definitely be a place I will continue to visit to satisfy future cravings. Thanks team Loanstar botany

Honestly loved their pork ribs and nachos. There was a waitress serving me and my girlfriend and she was super helpful, not making us rush to order our food, always came to our table when we clicked the service button within 10 seconds max. If I got her name I would have told the Boss/owner to bump her pay up. Seemed like a Brazilian teen?

We were very happy with the service from Brooke, she was fast to take our order and really kind and we had no problems with our meal at all. She even wrote a really nice note on our takeaway container telling us she hopes we enjoy our leftovers later and to stay safe.

A fantastic atmosphere for friends and family, the restaurant was warm and inviting. Friendly wait staff, attentive throughout the entire time we were there. The drinks and meals we ordered were great and promptly served. The only downside was the sweet pastry base to the banoffie pie which was hard. Will dine here again and also recommend to others.

Very popular, with cozy atmosphere and seating. The service is very good, and the food itself is pretty damn tasty. The portions are very large; in some cases, enough to feed two people. Their menu is also very extensive and large. I'd recommend their nachos (if I remember correctly they have 2 of them; just pick any one, they're worth it).

Yum food, great service. Where we sat it was too dark and the table sitting near us were very loud. A group of about 8 females came in while we were dining which is fine but I believe it's the room itself which was very closed in that it seemed louder than usual, or else the women just had loud, hideous laughs 🤦‍♀️ Anyway depending on what you're looking for, Lone Star is still yum and a goodie to return to every now and then.

Lost a point where there was something not quite right with food... its just seemed a bit bland. I had the Pork Ribs, which according to Lone Star website, is "the meal that made us famous!". I'm not so sure that people would be raving about the ribs I received. Lost another point... not such good value for money! Nice enough atmosphere, and reasonable service; but not quite at a level to warrant their pricing. At >$3 per rib, and then having to pay extra to get fries and coleslaw. Meh. "The meal that makes me think I'll go elsewhere next time".

Always love lonestar but this isn’t one of my favourite restaurants, I’ve been here twice and had the same issues. I asked for steak to be completely cooked and it was very rare, then also got a milky bar pudding (my favourite dessert) which usually comes with a generous helping of caramel sauce but was disappointed when this one had a mere drizzle and the tiniest spoon of ice cream to accompany it I’ve ever seen. Nothing compared to Massey Lonestar which I am a frequent at and have never had issues with my meals. Other family members also had some issues with there meals being cold when served. Probably wouldn’t go back to this one! Especially with the price you pay for the food.

Good selection of Gluten Free options. Good service and time frame between ordering and delivery of our meals. Very clean and tidy and saff were very polite. Only 4 stars this time as waitress seemed to be lacking in the knowledge of importance around the necessity of Gluten Free requirements for Coeliac's. After asking to speak with the manager which arrived within a minute, Claudia confirmed to me how the meal was prepared and also made by the main chef and that it was totaly safe for me to eat. This was a relief and gave me confidence to enjoy the meal which was absolutely well prepared. Advices to Coeliac's; Advice the manager on arrival if you are Coeliac so they can then make sure the chef's are 100% aware of your dietary requirements. Other than that they would have got 5 stars.

You always know what you're going to get at Lone Star. Good quality food and plenty of it. Attentive service and acceptable wait times for food and drink to arrive. It's important to note that Lone Star runs on a purely 'walk-in' system and you can't book in advance. Having said that they're usually fairly well patronised and I've never had to wait more than 20 minutes to get a table.

Wow! Double wow!!! When you need service you press the service button, this gets you beer!!!!! Press Order and your food needs get taken. Then if you want to Highly Commend the staff, food, atmosphere, view, cleanliness, speed, timeliness or general quality, press the manager button (remember Kiwi's don't complain in public). We go to many Lone Star restaurants, this is going to be a favourite of ours! :)

The food is always great. We had a longer wait because it was the night prior to father's day. We were offered a free bread as a thank you for our patience. Staff are very friendly and efficient.

I love going here for dinner. Sometimes the restaurant is very full and busy, and you have to wait for a table, but it's worth the wait. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The service is excellent. The food is delicious. The manager seems very dedicated to the restaurant - it's nice to see him help out his staff with the service and he has a great positive attitude :) Well recommended going to this restaurant!

Very popular. Great for a casual dinner out. The food is consistantly excellent with large portion sizes. I find it hard to go past the ribs. It can be difficult to find too many really healthy choices on their extensive menu. Go there when you aren't dieting, it great.

My whole family loves Lone Star. Good food and good customer services. The only disappointed thing is every time we got served half cooked beans, got food poison once from their half cooked beans, we would never touch their beans any more. Other than that, food and services are all good.

Went on a Thursday night. Plenty of seats available. Service was a bit slower than other places, waited for approx 10-15mins after given the menu. Food was delivered a bit slower than expected but acceptable. As well we had four mains (chicken, ribs, lamb and deer) and all came at the same time. But the quality...it was worth the wait! The staff did check up on us several time while we were there, felt we were looked after! Could improve, but still highly recommended to all!

Go only if you have a lot of patience. Took 40 mins for your drinks to arrive, on a weekday, 3 glasses of a red wine and a tap beer, nothing too complicated either. So dread to think of the wait time on weekends. The food was good but the pleasure was lost. Will def not go again!

I love the burrito ranchero. The setting is also great and pleasing. The artisan loaf appetizer is also delicious. My only gripes are: the steak - Was not cooked as well as I would have like, And I once ordered the honky tonk chicken and it was very dry. Might have been a one-off that time, though.

Manager absolutely wonderful and very accomodating, also our waiter Trent was great to deal with, very pleasant with great service, only problem was the wait on our food. This is a restaurant worth a visit. We have been there so often that I have lost count. The staff there are so so friendly that I cant say enough. On one of our visits to either Rotorua or Taupo my son was crook and he threw up around his plate. Their staff not only cleaned up the place while we got our son cleaned up but they kept our food heated and ready by the time we were back on our table. Hats off to your customer service. From a food point of view I cannot pick a single dish as my favorite, the Pork Ribs, or the Lamb Shank, or the Salmon, or Prawn, or any of their Chicken dishes are worth trying again and again. My son loves the Road Runner special which has crumbed strips of chicken breast. The meal sizes are definitely worth the price. In addition they have the reward program with discounts on your next meal or free dessert once you accumulate certain amount of points. I recon the reward program is a plus point. Go Lonestar....you get 5 stars from me.

I got the combination nachos (beef and chicken). I preferred the chicken but that is just because I like chicken. I came in for lunch with my baby. They gave me a booth so I could lay him down on his blanket. Staff were quick, friendly, and food came out pretty quickly. Drink came out immediately too. Thanks :-)

Great food. Great service. We had a waiter on his first night on the job and his service was great. Very charismatic. Very thorough. The food was awesome. I had garlic butter with my steak and it wasnt very garlicky......but it was butter.....and i wasnt complaining. Coz it was still yum. I enjoyed it. Steak was great. Chips were absolutely DELICIOUS. By far the best tasting lone star I have been to, lonestar is my favorite restaurant but this particular one was the best out of all the ones I've been to. Food is wonderful, steak was perfect to my order but when we got there, no forks, asked for forks, got 1 fork instead of 5, the lady serving our table looked like she didn't want to serve us and had a "I hate being here look" which made us feel pretty uncomfortable :( they messed up the order for drinks we asked for some coke and got Corona instead. I rate 3 stars because the food is bloody good <3 thank you
