I have been dining in this restaurant many times and the quality of the food is outstanding and the service is great. I will go again and again. It's one of my favorite restaurants in Mission Bay and I love Italian food as I am Italian.the risotto the pasta and the meals and starters the desserts are all very good. I just wish they have more selection of italian food such as brushetta, gnocchi or ravioli.

So happy that we are able to enjoy your hospitality again. We have been for so many different occasions: family dinner, dinner for two, big group dinner for 25 people, take-out during Level 3 or just this week for our staff Christmas dinner. Each time we enjoyed ourselves a lot, the service and food were great. Our family favourites are the Penne Pavarotti and the Calamari. Thank you Team Mama Mia!!

This was the best pizza I've had for years. The best pizza since living in NZ 2009. OMG the taste the quality and service. Each rate they're all 5 stars each.They don't skimp on toppings.Full of flavor and it's hot. It's all to die for. I ordered a small but it was big enough for two unless you are like me and couldn't stop at three slices "'just one more" I managed to stop saving two slices for breakfast the next day. I drove from Ellerslie to mission bay just for something to do but now I will go just for a pizza.

Was an impromptu drop in as we were craving for pasta n had eaten there twice. Service was gd, the seafood was a bit overcooked but the pasta sauce was flavorsome n perfect! Comes in big serving n price was reasonable. Garlic bread was full of garlic to our liking. Will come back again 🙃

Mamma Mia is a warm inviting Italian restaurant in Mission Bay with friendly hospitable staff always ready to greet you with a find smile. I simply adore the prawn tagliatelle and my sister loves the seafood chowder. The pizzas are absolutely stunning, in particular vegetariana! There is always a homely cosy ambiance at Mamma Mia and it’s always so nice reading the history in photographs of the walls. Highly recommended!

Lovely italian restaurant with friendly staff and a menu offering lots of pasta and pizza options along with some traditional dishes. I am a regular customer and again I wasn't disappointed. The food was served quickly, presented nicely and tasted really good. Pasta main dishes are quite a big portion so if you are not super hungry order an entree size or take it home in a doggy bag. Staff are super friendly and chef easily caters for dietary requirements. Lots of parking nearby also helps.

My all time favorite Italian restaurant and has been for many years 😊 I recommenced Mamma Mia’s to a friend who was craving Italian food! We dined on Saturday night. I checked the menu online before we went, and the delicious chicken livers was still there, yay! Only it wasn’t on offer when we got there, not even on the menu, never mind lots of yummy other options to choose from. The food we selected was delicious, except for the pizza. Have you changed your recipe? Doughy base, dry and definitely not the rich juicy tomato cheesy deliciousness I have had many many times before. Loaded with onion and sadly not much else. Please Mamma Mia, go back to the pizzas of old and please put chicken livers back on the menu, even on the specials board 😊

Eaten alot of pizza here but thought we would actually go in and eat off the pasta menu for a change. Well, look no further it was amazing, Sani and Franko are fantastic and very welcoming as well, you must check it out for yourself, you won't be disappointed p.s. the portions are huuge we had to take both ours home 😅😅 Will be back, thanks for a great dinner guys!!!

In my personal opinion I had a great experience in this restaurant, is not only that the food is so tasty, is amazing, the portions are huge, we order one plate of pasta for both of us but one is enough for two along with the garlic bread pizza, which is also amazing, the kids pizza is large too, and then there is a good selection of wines and beers, so it was a great experience that I wasn't expecting.

I have been going to this restaurant since the late 90s and it feels like home. The staff are so welcoming, like family (real Italians!) It is such an institution with gorgeous, homemade Italian food, decent portions, FAB wine list. The pizzas are incredible, my favourite the Super Special and the Romana. Go for a lovely family meal with soul-warming food.

Lovely staff, prices are reasonable but not likely to go back. All of their pizzas are smothered in dried herbs, mostly oregano. I had the seafood pizza that had anchovies on it. I love anchovies and a fan of a bit of salt but the pizza was so salty I couldn't eat it. It was like a had taken a spoon of straight table salt. The entire pizza base was covered in large anchovies, it was too much. They kindly made a new pizza but the lady probably the owner/manager made it out like of course it would be salty it has anchovies. But this was beyond edible and she didnt seem to understand that. The garlic bread is definitely a win though. Maybe I'll stick to pasta if I go again.

The crepes in the cannelloni, texture of the calamari and pizza base were deliciously done. Mamma Mias is one of my favourite Mission Bay restaurants. As a local you know you are always in for a friendly welcome and good food. This visit was mushroom pizza. Yum! Highly recommended. We doubled the mushrooms and halved the cheese.. And it was perfect! A great easy going place to have a laid back dinner or lunch.

Good food, very generous portions. We were a fairly large group and everyone was served quickly. We had a lovely evening. I would have given a perfect mark if not for the ONE waitress who couldn't manage a smile. This same waitress also tried to correct her workmates "mistake", when in fact it was she who then proceeded to make a mistake. I need to add that the calamari was divine and highly recommend.

What a fantastic place couldn't fault anything impeccable service, wonderfully tasty Italian dishes. Reasonably priced, very accommodating towards our four kids. will definitely be coming back sooner rather than later! Make sure you allow 5 minutes or so for finding a park in mission bay as it can be a bit busy during peak times.

Yet another lovely pizzeria in Mission Bay! Lovely views over the road to the water, delicious pizzas and pastas, what more could you ask for. The service is very friendly and efficient. The ambiance is cosy and warm. The only negative is that the menu is a little pricey.

I've been here a few times over the years. I find the prices absurd for what you get. I've only had their pasta which is fine but not worth $25+ Their pizzas seem quite popular though, and seem to be better priced. I might go back to try the pizza but I wouldn't go back for the mains or pasta. You'd think for what you're paying the food would be spectacular but it's really average.

Very friendly personnel. Good atmosphere. Amazing location and view. But food itself is not even close to what I would expect from place carrying proud Italian restaurant name. It's ok, but it was completely kiwi, no sign of authentic Italian taste. Bolognese mince was what I would expect from mince pie, but not from real pasta. We had 5 meals there, non of which I may have described as perfect. The only comforting thing was the discount if you have entertainment book coupon.

This place was absolutely incredible. I have just left maybe 15 minutes ago and I’m still amazed. The price was perfect for the generous sized carbonara my partner and I bought. It was perfectly seasoned and was in no way bland. I will definitely be back!

Been there a few times, the staff is always nice and friendly and food comes out fast enough not to complain. The food itself is also pretty nice love their salmon pasta as well as chicken fettuccine, however when I ordered pizza it was nice and tasty but some of it was undercooked (the dough) I was too hungry and didn't want to wait for longer, they were a bit busy so probably just rushed it out of the oven, will definitely come back one day

Mama Mia is a special place - it's a place that has seen all the other restaurants come and go at the popular Mission Bay and yet it still stands strong, unfazed by time. Sure, there is a large selection of pasta and pizzas and the price does have a tourist mark up, but the whole experience somewhat sets it apart from other more famous Italian restaurants in Auckland. There is a no nonsense attitude, you're not bothered all the time by the waiter, or forced to order things you never want. Like a firm old style eatery, you came for a meal and that's what they will deliver. They don't try to be something else and that's a rare attitude in 2015. Tip: Come here for a meal and not to be pampered, it's like visiting your family favourite with your mum when you were a child.

Been there twice now the staff are great,there friendly and down to earth, the food is brilliant the garlic pizza bread was crunchy and soft alota taste packed into it ,the pasta is amazing and surprisingly filling , the pizza comes in 10 12 and 14 inch I got the super special pizza with mushrooms packed with flavour shrimps that were cooked to perfection ,ham by the truckload (yet you can barely taste it with all the other great flavours), soft and flavoursome pineapple,the cheese and base were perfect , it's healthy ,fresh ,filling ,and tastes amazing,I don't know how others have given it a bad review but maybe they need to go to sals where half the pizza is oil
