My family booked under 'Kayla' last Saturday evening and we had the most incredible night for dinner and drinks. The room upstairs was intimate and cozy + the food was delicious. The bartenders and servers were all wonderful. Super efficient, friendly and made our evening top notch. The little bar that they took us too afterwards was a total surprise and we expected to join the public crowd (had no issues with that) but instead had the pleasure of having our own nook to enjoy our Sangria's 🍷 Appreciate all the work that goes on there and the great staff. Can't wait to come back!

We happened to go in because it was raining and we didn't want to walk to some place further. We were pleasantly surprised by the warm atmosphere and great service we received. The food was really good, we enjoyed the tacos and the Mexican beer available. I can see myself going back for more.

The squid in the taco was phenomenal. Highly recommend the duck taco too and the plum and cinnamon margarita. Definitely recommended visit, service was top notch too. Had a lovely time.

Great food but an overall mediocre dining experience. Being closely packed to other tables made conversations a struggle, and a wait time of 30+ mins for food was a downer on the evening. Portion sizes left much to be desired for the asking price.

Different version of Mexican food. Decoration of the place gives you a lot to look around and pass your time. A bit expensive comparing the portions you get. Service was quick. Tried the panucho and the taste of it was ok, but, what they bring you it is a nacho chip with beans, some seeds and a few greens, not really what I expected. I was expecting a Mexican panucho and this was way far from that. Got the horchata water, it was ok, they put a lot of ice and it changes the flavor. Not a bad experience but be open minded that it's not authentic Mexican food.

Food was good for the price. If you sit outside, flies could be a problem. Bigger than their other store in Auckland but old furniture and building. Customer service was not as good as the their other store.

It was great to get out on a Friday evening and be lifted by a delicious crisp margarita 🍹 yum! Exactly what I wanted. New discovery - Jackfruit Taco. What?! One word scrumptious. Charred Jackfruit, fresh salsa, and garlic crema. Wow! I and my friend thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Had a good laugh. A big shout out to Oilver🌟. Exceptional customer service. I honestly don't understand why people line up at Taco Bell when Mexico is just around the corner. I am local and I buy dinner here every weekend. It's perfect for takeaway and is just good, fresh food.

My friends and I came here for dinner last night. Under six person weren't allowed to book a table. So we have to walk in. Luckily, we only waited 20 mins for a table. The light and ambience were great! We like here! I love mexico fried chicken the most as it's crispy and spicy. If you love spicy food, you can't miss it! The lamb taco was also special and pleasant with pomegranate. This is my first time to try Mexican food. So I don't know if it is authentic. But all dishes we ordered were great. It's a good place to drink with friends.

Great Mexican restaurant in Britomart, CBD, Auckland. The menu is tapas style, designed to share and multiple dishes. The food was tasty but lacked spiciness you would expect from Mexican food, although they had various degrees of chilli sauces you add yourself. Many different flavors of Margherita that seem to be well made. Service was efficient and friendly. Overall was good experience but I missed the Mexican flavours.

Food was great! Highly recommend the Guacamole and one of their Margaritas, which come in many different flavours. Staff were very friendly, and very knowledgeable about ingredients. I was also able to pick food that catered to my dietary restrictions. Very good.

Tapas style restaurant. The staff explained how the menu worked and provided us with excellent service. We didn't have to wait long for the food to arrived. I'm pretty sure our first dish came out in a couple of minutes. Moderately priced and well worth the visit.

Is there such a thing as "fusion Mexican" tapas? I guess there is now! The funky range of ever changing flavours at Mexico (they change their menu seasonally, every 3 months or so) would never appear in a traditional Mexican restaurant, but it's the mainstay here. GREAT decor, btw. Tacos are good value and interesting, but sometimes a bit of a lucky dip on whether the flavours work and whether they've overcooked the chicharron that day. Mains are fantastic: interesting, fresh and delicious. Culley's hot sauces at the table are cool, though frustratingly un-named! Drinks will quickly add up, and service is quick and friendly... but they'll try and turn your table over quickly. This place is built on fast covers and turnaround, so don't aim to come for a relaxing long meal!

Had really high expectations for this place because of such high rates but got really disappointed for the food. The guacamole was pretty meh especially the corn chips tasted so stale and got heavy oil smell. The quesadillas that we order was just average and they actually lacked flavour without the sauce.

Taco Tuesdays. A margarita and a taco for $14 how can you go wrong. Ill be here every Tuesday. Tacos are nice flavorful and very fresh. If you don't like coriander make sure to say. However I love it and the service is very quick and helpful.

Went for team lunch. Ambience is something that cannot be ignored. It has Mexican theme all over it. Now onto food and drinks. We ordered Nachos which goes by the name as Salsa Roja and some tortillas with some stuffing which goes by the name as Esquites. In drinks we ordered Tinto Sangria. Both the drinks and starters were upto the mark. Nothing too special about it but not bad either. For mains we ordered Mexico Fried Chicken which was quite good and unique for me. Other colleagues ordered Spiced Squid for which I got OK review, Quince braised pork shoulder quesadilla for which I got a good review and lastly Enchilada (vegetarian) for which I got good review as well. So overall its a good place to go for lunch. The service is quite prompt and the staff is very helpful n kind. Can plan again for lunch. Price wise its not too bad.

I love this restaurant chain and this was the first time that I have eaten at the at the Britomart branch and I loved it. Even if you know the menu well, each branch is uniquely decorated with a mixture of old and quirky items which is a visual delight. They have a new menu too and I think it’s even better than the last. The food was incredibly tasty and my friend even commented that she didn’t remember the food being this good on her last visit.

My partner and I must have gone at a very busy time as when we got there unfortunately there was a 45 minute wait for food and beverages. We were convinced by one of the amazing staff to come back soon, she was right. We came back half hour later, and quicky made our order. Very shortly after our meals were bought out to us, which was very fast I tell you that! I popped in to Mexico for Friday lunch with my colleagues and were promptly directed to an empty table despite the restaurant being quite busy. The menu didn't really jump out at me but I decided to go with the lunch special of 2 tacos and a soft drink for $16. Boy was I glad I did, the tacos were amazing and left me wanting more. Service was friendly and efficient as well. All in all a great lunch out.

Mexico is always a winner in my books. Good food, occasionally at other Mexico's the service has been a bit average but at this place they were very friendly and accommodating for a big group. I was a bit late and came just in time for the kitchen to close but they kindly took my order just before they closed, and also included it in the group rate, which was kind of them. Tacos were amazing! Good price, great food, nice staff great vibes. And love the music too. Always some talking points on the walls as well! Recommend.

Discovered from seeing 'Frida's Margaritas' down a back alley (and a girlfriend who had worked her way through the margarita list before). The horcharta gets better the further down the glass you go, and the gorditas were excellent. One of the must-see places downtown!! Ridiculously polite and attentive service, food is amazing too! It doesn't feel overpriced, and the quality is always delivered consistently. They frequently have promotions and specials, as well as a taco loyalty cards. There is a variety of mexican beverages, which includes a very long list of specialty margaritas, all of which are delicious (note that the rim is sugar, not salt). Highly recommend the lemon Margarita - delish. Just a shame it was a small glass with LOADS of ice. It was gone in no time at all. Everything we bought was fresh and tasty but some portion sizes (e.g. green beans) were rather small, hence 4 instead of 5 stars.

Food is good, the theme is a bit cliched. Service is fine, it's a franchise so it's a lot like every other Mexico restaurant in NZ. They used to have a bar in what must have been an elevator shaft that was ultra cool, especially late late at night when all the beer was gone and it was time to hit the spirits before heading home. It's gone now, which is a shame, but the restaurant remains. Would be five stars if the bar was still there.

Great service - we took our two under-4s here on a Sunday early evening and the staff were great! Even better, the kids east for free on Sundays! So we'll definitely be coming back again that's for sure. Classic sharing food that is good quality (even if a bit pricy) but still an enjoyable experience - the different flavoured margaritas are a real reason to keep coming back to try them all, they're so good, especially the frozen ones!

Great food and reasonable prices for what is actually the most expensive strip in the country. This is part of a larger chain but still a fantastic eating option. Staff are well trained and very accommodating and friendly. The place never fails to serve decent food, in an inform cosy atmosphere. With its dimmed lighting and candle lit tables, the ambiance both day and night is perfect for some tasty tacos! Try the Mexican Fried Chicken, at $16 it is not too be missed. Kids friendly as well, with a decent menu for the little ones. If you need a Mexican food fix head to Mexico Britomart.

This place has a great atmosphere, the staff is friendly and one of the most efficient I’ve ever seen, and our drinks and food were served so quickly it was as if they magically appeared in front of us. But the food is very average. And expensive for what you get. Ultimately I go for the food so don’t see myself coming back as I know many Mexican places that are cheaper and serve delicious food.

This is the second Mexico restaurant I've been to and the food was good and the 8 of us had a wonderful time. The problem was consistency of taste. I ordered two Chicken and one prawn taco on my first visit to Ellerslie, they were nicely spiced and tasted great. Truth be told, I ordered a chicken and prawn first, then a second chicken and the second chicken didn't taste quite like the first. At the Britomart restaurant, the chicken tacos were flaming hot and barely edible. Chain restaurants are supposed to be consistent and these two were vastly different.

First, I should say I'm an American tourist, so my perspective on this is probably most interesting to other American tourists in the area! So, I wouldn't call this Mexican food. No frijoles and rice, carne asada, burritos, fajitas, or tortillas (outside the ones in the tacos and quesadillas). The featured dish is fried chicken, which is not something I've ever even seen at a Mexican restaurant! Looking at the other reviews, though, it seems like it is pretty standard Mexican fare around here. That said, the space is very funky and festive, and the food is quite nice. I really appreciated the vegetarian and vegan options, as well as the table of allergens in each dish. We actually went back for a second visit. It may not be Mexican you're used to, but it's tasty!
