What we ordered:
- Boat noodle soup $16.50
- Golden noodles w seafood mix $19.50
- Thai milk tea $6
- Mango juice $5
This restaurant is so cozy and such a nice hidden gem. They have super generous portions, affordable prices and the food was so so good. I had the boat noodle soup which has really crunchy pork crackling and a super flavourful sweet broth. The golden noodles with seafood was also really good and they were super generous with all of the different types of seafood. For drinks we tried the mango juice and the Thai milk tea which was so good and had a kind of similar taste to bubble tea.

Absolutely enjoyed all the dishes ! So far the most decent Thai place that’s not too fusion and does offer authentic Thai dishes. Definitely recommend the satay, deep fried wontons and curries !
O.
What used to be our favourite Korean basement restaurant is now a vibrant Thai/South East Asian eatery that is modern and unique in it's chosen flavours. My first dish was their pad Thai and personally a fan of the thinner rice noodles and saucy delivery! Did I say the prices are well priced and overall experience is great with the service we got during lunch. Will definitely be back!
S.
Nice subterranean venue that is atmospheric and tidy.
Service was fantastic and the food was delicious!
Great assortment of dishes, small and larger and the wicked Thai dipping sauces that need a hotness warning!
Great little gem that wasn't overly crowded but had a great feel to it
C.
Nahm was exquisite! As two vegans, the menu was easily adaptable and everything had such depth of flavor 😋 very lovely setting!! The staff proactively asked if we were vegan when opting for tofu as we didn't specify before ordering, which means a lot!
S.
I mean, it was okay. I had their Pad See Eew and I must say I had better ones, especially from one that's just around the corner. It was tasty but it missed the whole wok-fried experience.
I do understand their high pricing though because of the location, but I wish they could be a bit more trustworthy with their WiFi? The 1 hour of WiFi made sense but what I didn't like was that the waitress had to type in the WiFi password herself. Not ideal from a security POV.
Rest assured, you will get a good experience, the staff are friendly. They acknowledge your presence and they are very welcoming. Very knowledgeable on the menu too. It's a great place to hangout with your colleagues. Though don't really bother with getting mobile coverage once you're in there.

Never did I think that tucked away down a set of stairs next to Elliott Stables was this gem of a Thai restaurant with a neat vibe and great food! You won't just find your average thai menu here, but that and more. I ordered the fried chicken with Panamg curry sauce and it was delicious! Very excited to come back and try more of the menu.
M.
Lovely interior decorations, I like the clean design. Despite there being a lack of windows, the establishment feels bright and full of light. The tables are clean and the food is presented well. Staff are friendly.
I love that there are tofu options for nearly every main dish, but you have to check with staff to confirm whether it is a vegan dish (if you are plant-based) as some of the dishes seem to have fish oil in the sauce. Other than that, the food tasted a bit too salty for my liking. The serving portions are very large and I enjoyed my experience and lunch overall.
Pricing is cheap if you're there during lunchtime and I'd definitely recommend and go back again for dinner.

Delicious Thai fusion food!! I'm usually very skeptical about fusion food but they managed to maintain the authentic Thai flavours while harmonizing those flavours with other popular Asian cuisines. We had the chilli jam fried rice with crispy pork, katsu kao soi and the green curry. Service was warm and friendly too. Will be coming back to try more of their dishes.

Great welcome and service. Extensive menu, including vegetarian choices. Food is fresh, flavourful and beautifully presented on enamel metal (camping) plates in keeping with the street food twist concept. Music subdued. Large tables for 4-8 with chairs or benches. Strings of lights give it a cantina/patio feel, although it takes up the length of the basement of Elliott Stables.
Cocktails are fresh and pricy. Lots of beers, many on tap. Some interesting wines choices, few local.
I enjoyed the green papaya salad, enough for one as a main or for 2 as an accompaniment. Sticky rice was hot and perfectly cooked. Vegetable spring rolls were petite. The order of 4 cigar shaped rolls would have been better rolled into 2 thicker sausages, then sliced in half on the diagonal IMHO- more vegetables, less wrapper. The chili jam was superb- thick with a slight kick.
Bathrooms are at the back up the stairs, shared with the other Stables restaurants: pristinely clean and well lit. I cannot see any handicap/wheelchair access, except to take out and dine at one of the outdoor Stables tables.
I would return and try some curry or noodles.

This restaurant is in the basement. It’s very spacious and the seating is good. However The food is just average. Despite the menu being so wide we found that the flavours were not very interesting at all. Service was good. Staff was polite and friendly. Decent value for money but they could work on the food a little big. Overall a good experience dinning there.
S.
It’s a hidden underground restaurant which is located on Elliot street. Every detail is just fabulous, I couldn’t stop taking photos. It’s an absolutely luscious place for dating!
Glorious plate presentation, wonderful service. Personally recommend crispy pork. It was amazing 👌

Prior to a show at The Civic, we dined in at Nahm on Elliott Street and we’re treated to warm inviting hospitality. The restaurant was at the very start of dinner service so it wasn’t crowded and we were able to get food quickly.
We ordered entrees of roti with chilli jam, pork belly twice cooked and chicken wings. The roti was the stand out dish to start with. For mains we tried the Chilli Jam Fried Rice Crispy Pork, Chicken Larb with sticky rice and Tom Yum Chicken Fried Fried and all of our dishes were exceptional.
Finally for dessert we shared a raspberry chocolate brownie with salted caramel on sizzling plate which was heavenly! Dinner was fantastic and we had a memorable dining experience. Highly recommended!
p.
Absolutely tasty - authentic Thai food. Loving my Tom yum noodles & Grilled Pork w sauce
T.
Food is just average. The starters where quite small in portion for their prices. The restaurant is down in the basement. Good space and ambiance. However, there was only one waitress serving 5-6 tables. Although, food came fast. It took a while to ask for a new jug of water.
G.
I've been here a few times now, both for lunch and dinner and it's been great everytime. The restaurant is quite spacious and has a cool vibe. Staff are friendly and above all, the food is great!
N.
Amazing service, homemade taste.
Beautiful presentation, nice restaurant atmosphere, bit average pop music selection, however relaxing.
N.
Yummy Thai food, good service.
M.
Best Tom Sum I've found so far in Auckland. Get it with sticky rice, and if hungry, crispy pork
S.
A hidden gem on Elliott st..near Elliot Stables..Thai St food is an has an amazing decor and ambient...plus the food is good and served with love and care..
H.
Good service and delicious food. Staff was very friendly and informative. Entire atmosphere is great.
A.
Great thai food! Average of $35 pp and we left so full. Very yummy!
S.
Amazing food. The best fried rice I've ever had. Great customer service skills and not too expensive.
S.
WOULD GIVE 7 STARS IF I COULD
honestly, one the best restaurant experiences I've had in NZ:
we went to Elliott Stables looking for food at 9p, but most places were closed early; and as we were leaving, this place caught our eye.
we walked in at 9pm (when Google said they closed) expecting to be turned away, but the staff were SO warm and welcoming, assuring us we had time to eat there.
we so grateful just to've gotten to sit down...but then it ended up being the best Thai food I've had in New Zealand by far. We got the som tam (green papaya salad), tom yum soup, and pad thai, and all three were absolutely incredible—couldn't believe how perfect and fragrant everything was. wow.
And the decor was of course beautiful as well, but that was just a bonus at that point.
It was just a perfect experience, and I already can't wait to go back at every opportunity! What an amazing spot. 7/5 stars all day.
C.
Lovely restaurant, great food and very well priced. Will be back for more!
M.
Super tasty and great vibe. The crispy chicken is amazing.
C.
Fantastic food. The best Pad Thai I have had in ages. Really friendly staff. Really clean premises. I'll be back, any chance I can get.
J.
Such a great place. The food is amazing and the venue is so cool and chilled. OMG love the Larb
I.
Tried their beef noodle soup. The food was absolutely delightful. It’s a hidden gem locating underground. Great food and great atmosphere. Happy to find this place near home. I’m definitely going back to try other dishes.
R.
Wanting a light meal early evening, we choose to eat here as it was very close to our hotel. Very quiet but very friendly welcome. We ordered a pawn Pad Thai and a crispy chicken dish. We were asked how much spice we wanted and when the dishes came, we received exactly the level of heat we wanted! Good sized portions and excellent flavours. Highly recommended.
G.
Stumbled upon Nahm whilst searching for some great Thai food in Auckland CBD. Delicious is an understatement! The food was great, packed with flavour and the service was quick, pleasant and non intrusive. The restaurant itself is spacious and with some great decor. I would highly recommend visiting this restaurant if you are in search of some great authentic Thai food.... with a twist!
B.
This place had the best lamb leg I’ve ever had (the curry, super rich though but incredible)
R.
Great location, tucked away but central. Decor and ambience is perfect. The service staff are attentive and knowledgeable. I had the squid starter, which to be honest was nothing special, but the som Tum salad main, with crispy fried pork was incredible!! Tasty zing and super good quality / quantity for the affordable price! Get here and get involved!!
C.
I ordered their Noodle Soup (with egg noodles) and it was amazing, tastes exactly as I remembered eating it in THAILAND!! And the service last night (tuesday) was very good 👍 Will definitely be coming back 😀
S.
Nice mood for dinner, delicious foods and tea
R.
A nice Thai cuisine restaurant located downstairs on Elliott street. The entrance is via stairs and there is a large dine in space inside. The food is good along with the variety of options available. The staff is nice and polite. Overall a nice experience dining there. Well recommended.
J.
Hidden away down some stairs on Elliott St, the best find in a long time. Early dinner for us before a show, fantastic service that easily catered to my need for no heat (this girl cant handle hot/spicy food). Great price for beautifully plated food and the decor was awesome. Could easily cater to large groups. Will return to try the dessert menu this time.
o.
We went last night for my pre birthday dinner with my best friend. Outside look is a bit dodgy but guys walk down please. A real cozy atmosphere awaits!!! They serve fusion Thai street food. They add their love and Thai touch into what they do. It really has a twist!!!
s.
Thinking of Thai food? Better choose Nahm, staff are lovely, taste of the food is amazing and the environment is serene. Recommend this place 100%
G.
Such a beautiful restaurant to go to. We really weren't expecting much when we saw the stairs leading down to this dark looking room but it was actually stunning with fairy lights and art everywhere. Food and beverages were nice too. Would happily go again!
R.
Amazing food, great cocktails and helpful staff. The Tom Yum cocktail is a beautiful balance of tart delicate citrus with sweet overtones.
K.
Great atmosphere.. super friendly staff. Excellent food.
w.
Never wrote a review for any restaurants before but this place was so good that I had to write one! Had been to this place so many times and ordered their lamb shank and always enjoyed it! Had a lunch today and celebrated my brother's birthday and the waitress was so accommodating and friendly to us! Thank you for the amazing time!
H.
The meal is tasty, but small.I ordered 4 dishes.
L.
Food was amazing! A hidden gem in the city. Food was tasty, lots of levels to it, big portions. We would go back on a heart bear. Service was sooooo good too!!
J.
Great food. Friendly staff. Awesome atmosphere. Starters were a bit kn the lean side for the price, but mains made up for it all. Great selection of drinks too.
D.
Hidden gem tucked underground with friendly service and nice decor. Ordered the pad see eww it was delicious. Check the menu posted on their door as it has some items not found on the menu inside.
P.
Good central city location underneath Elliott stables with that makes it a perfect place to grab lunch between work or dinner before a show at the nearby Civic theatre or cinema. Quality of the food is high and there seems to be a decent range of options, with good service. Decor is hipster-minimalist with benches that are not the most comfortable for extended dining experiences though.
C.
Great food and service, the chardonnay was really tasty and the only one they carried so I'm thinking they put a lot of thought into their drinks list also. Will be back next time we're in Auckland
D.
My new favorite Thai place. The green curry was outstanding, and the sliders with green buns were different and very tasty. Service was great. Will eat here as often as possible.
R.
My friend and I finally got to eat here tonight. We tried to pop in randomly on a Friday night but we were too late.
I had #35 and #65 🍴 my dessert (#65) was the highlight - chocolate brownie lava with Milo sauce. Great ambience, clean, good service - we're going back for sure!
A.
Favorite Thai place in Auckland so far. Amazing food, authentic taste, nicest personnel, good size portions. Never got anything to complain.
A.
10x better than the Nahm in Nelson! Good place to go for a date with your SO, located underground which is cool. The best thing about this place is the not so usual thai food, which makes you want to come back again to try the other interesting things on the menu.
2.
I'm a regular here.
Always delicious and kind.
I'm not used to make review but i have terrible dinner today.
So today i realized your hard work
Thank you for always serving me delicious food.
L.
The small dishes were good, the squid rings with tom yum mayo was the best dish we had here. The larger dishes were not as good. The duck in the chilli basil duck was very dry and chewy.
B.
Don't be fooled by it's semi hidden location and shy appearance , Nahm is outstanding. The service is prompt and friendly and the food is simply sensational. Serving up delights better than more expensive establishments you won't be disappointed with whatever you order from the awesome menu. Very will priced to boot.
A.
Nice food, comfortable environment & special cocktails-Tom Yum Goong & Siam Delight, that I haven’t try before. If you are looking a place for a fusion Thai food in the heart of the Auckland city, Nahm is the place you want to be.
T.
Great food and service 😻
Q.
We ordered the green curry, Pad Thai and mango black rice as the dessert. Both are very test and the service is great. Love to come again
m.
While I enjoyed the ambiance.... Very lit up and beautiful ❣️
The food was edible and nice, however, the food was not up to the expectations.
It was a nice experience through from the ordering process to the paying.
R.
Great food and a large seating area down in the basement. No windows but a good place for lunch!
B.
This place is just awesome - best Thai restaurant I have been to in a long time! The green curry was super tasty and the atmosphere was great and also very friendly staff! Thank you
G.
What a hidden gem, right next to Elliott Stables, underground. The dishes not only look great but the flavours were also exquisite. Cooked to perfection. I'll definitely come back.
D.
Friendly service, fresh ingredients, some of the best Thai food I've had. I go there way too often for my budget as a result.
A.
Nice food with some vegan options but they made a mistake with two of the meals. They apologised but still charged full price. Probably won't go back.
K.
The food is delicious, and love the atmosphere. I had the Green curry - super filling. Attentive and friendly customer service :)
R.
The location, the decor and the food are phenomenal here. The chefs clearly go the extra mile to ensure the food is fabulous and i am constantly impressed.
A.
By far, one of my favourite restaurants in Auckland! Very cosy atmosphere, great service and absolutely delicious food.
C.
Great food and great flavor, will definitely go again, but one of my order was done incorrectly, it was via uber the second time I ordered from here.
A.
It's below street level so has a cool and funky feel. Food is tasty; not that spicy so if you want it spicy order the "hot".
G.
A bit hard to find (down that stairs next to Elliot Stables) but lovely inside and excellent food to match. Really good!
S.
Love the place, lots of seating and not too crowded. I especially love the fried chicken with panang curry.
A.
Great vibe and really well priced thai food. Would definitely go back again. Had a great drink selection too.
P.
Amazing food . Amazing service. Have been here before and will recommend coming here again. Probably the only place near city that serves Khao soi.
C.
Such a hidden gem! Finally found another thai option in town! Staff are friendly too and great menu options.
A.
Great tasty food - I love the red curry duck! One of the better Thai places in Auckland CBD.
N.
Gorgeous Thai food... good service... friendly service... busy times can cause longer wait times, but still worth it! :)
P.
The food is good, but it takes 40 min to get served on a weekday. Thus it's only worth it when the restaurant is empty.
C.
Wonderful warm welcome when we arrived and food was quick to arrive and delicious. Will definitely be back
S.
great fresh and tasty food, good value for money. Great friendly service and loved the lighting and ambience.
