Very delicious Cantonese food. No msg and no animal fat. The corn soup is freshly sweet. Though not traditional Cantonese style, all food are tasty. The owner said the restaurant has been running for 52 years.

One of best Chinese food restaurant I ever been, good food, good price, good environment. If you come back from long weekend trip, best stop in papakura , because you going to jam in takanini papakura for 30min, might just go New Ruby Restaurant to dine in, and after dinner, traffic free as.....Will come back very soon again.

Sharing plates in a lazy Susan (rotating table centrepiece) was great for groups. Went with a group of about 16. Lots of food, quick service and able to take excess food away in takeaway containers. Fave dishes Lemon fish and sweet&sour pork. Will return for sure

Family Gathering held here on Sunday. Service was good. Food OK they tried to cater for everyone. Happy with the desert selection and coffee. Toilets could do with updating nowhere for mums to change their babies saw a mum struggling to change her baby in the pram whilst jammed into the small space between the basin and the toilet. No bench top or changing table available. Bit pricey at $31 but OK. Would go back because of the friendly service, food OK.

They let us order after closing as the Google times were wrong. Google said they closed at 10pm but they actually close earlier (9:30 I believe) and they let us order and come pick up even though they were closed. Yummy fried rice and good chow mein.

I have changed my mind about the New Ruby Restaurant. I dined with my family some 20 years ago and didn't think much of it. But my experience on Saturday night changed all that. The food is beautifully cooked and there is no problem with returning for seconds and the price of $59 for 2 people is so value for money.

Best Chinese takeaways in town!

We had dinner here last night with a group of family and friends celebrating a 70th Birthday for my mother n law. The restaurant was full and the atmosphere was buzzing. The food was absolutely excellent from the entre, to the large selection of buffet mains, followed by dessert. Yes, its all you can eat. We had a great evening. You must go to this restaurant and try the food, you won't be disappointed.
