G.We had a very special, wonderful birthday evening for my girlfriend and I can't recommend Portofino highly enough.
We were a party of 20 and every order was correct and every meal was perfect.
The service was wonderful and very attentive. The manager looked after every detail and nothing was a problem for us.
Overall a perfect birthday function that everyone thoroughly enjoyed. We will be back!
H.Our family's been regular here for years now. Never been disappointed. Yes, there are too many italian restaurants around but, the lady running the place here knows our taste and makes sure that we always get what we like.
Personally, we love the freshness of food here. When you take that first bite, you immediately realise that the wait was worth the freshness.
You don't want something or want something more, no problem. No fuss. The team here really pays attention and best of all, remembers your preference for next time.
Yes, they will definitely not roll a red carpet out for you but, they will always endeavour to provide you your preferred seats and greet you as one of those.
H.Very average food. Not a patch on Volare in Manurewa. Wouldn't go back. Service not very friendly and got the feeling they just want to get you in and out asap!
H.First time trying a Portofino chain and found it to be quite enjoyable for a work leaving dinner. Portions were quite generously sized and the dishes were quite tasty overall. Just a bit hot sitting inside though and couldn’t really feel any air con on a warm summer evening.
J.Fettuccine con pollo is a staple of portofino, offering fresh fettuccine and chicken in a rich creamy sauce, 5/5 it's a must try.
The Costolette di agnello is a lamb cutlet dish, served with seasonal vegetables and a tomato based sauce. The sauce hits hard with tangy flavours and is definitely the star of the dish. In my opinion, the sauce works great with the seasonable vegetables but overpowered the flavour of the lamb cutlets - which were already a little overcooked. Overall a 4/5.
Service was top notch and staff were extremely friendly and polite, 5/5. Ambience was great, with mood lighting and comfy furniture, the booths are private and make it perfect for date nights, 5/5.

When we went to pay, the woman who seemed to be the owner, wasn't the most professional. She answered the phone while we were trying to pay, leaving us standing there and when we produced an entertainment voucher she questioned the validity of it. It made us feel quite uncomfortable.

M.First time ordered takeaways. Spicy pizza bread and seafood risotto. Pretty average. Reckon the risotto had no cheese at all, which was just rice and seafood, but fine to eat. Service was really lovely tho on phone and in person.

C.Last time i was here from Australia I came across Portofino by coincidence and was very pleased I did as the meal was outstanding. I had the salmon pasta. Being back in New Zealand, I went back to Portofino tonight and was once again amazed at how delicious the meal was, tasty, flavorsome and just outstanding. The staff are warm and friendly and it is truly an amazing little restaurant that you should not miss visiting.
P.Handy location to town, quick service. There is a step at the front door which may cause some issues for prams, strollers and wheelchairs. Otherwise always delicious food and warm inviting atmosphere.
A.Well, as Italian, my mates got loads of pasta: cannellonis and raviolis - which should be OK, unfortunately the food all tasted the same, sauces create an impression that they are being reused across lasagne, bolognese, etc, etc
Steak was great though.
M.Meal was nice and hot, everything inside was impeccably clean, but the waiting time for a business lunch was a bit long. It took half an hour for the meals to be delivered to our table and there was nobody else in the restaurant. What would happen if it was busy?
C.I’ve been attending Portofino Parnell for the last two years and I’ve already tried almost the entire menu and it’s everything amazing! Vegetarian options, seafood plates, beef and chicken, everything is tasty, juicy, creamy! At Portofino I’ve learnt that pasta goes really well with salad, beautiful combination and garlic bread must be considered as a starter, yummy! Finishing with a creamy and delightful tiramisu and a beautiful smile from the staff! You must go! Following all those steps you will never want to go to another Italian restaurant!
T.My first time at this restaurant. Friendly greeting by waitstaff, allowed to have my pick of tables (took the window seat!) Service was professional yet friendly. Ordered quattro staggioni pizza which arrived in 20 minutes, which I considered quite acceptable. I would rate the pizza 8 out of 10. Then I ordered cheese cake monterosa for dessert - wow, I was just totally blown away, 10 out of 10!
Overall, an excellent meal and experience. I highly recommend Portofino Parnell, and will definitely be going back.
J.Lovely place and nice food. I had the Shrimp cocktail for entree a classic very tasty. Staff were friendly and looked after us.
P.Overall the experience was good. The waitress barely spoke a lick of English. The starters and mains were good but the cheese platter was a disappointment and some of the cheese was moldy where it shouldn't be. Probably would try some other places before heading back.
