A great place to feel fancy without breaking the bank! Started off with my apple juice drink, which I never thought would feel fancy but it did! Loved all their food. It was all vibrant and fresh. Service was good, too. Would definitely go back again.

Such a great meal here in Papakura. The salad with the candied walnuts was very delicious, and it was very fresh! The pork special - the marinade/sauce is so tasty. The chicken main was cooked so well, paired well with the cheeses in the dish. Had to end the meal with a dessert, the panna cotta, which didn't disappoint either. All servings were generous, and great service to top it all off.

What can i say , thank you Shiva for making my partner feel very special with that amazing birthday song , and it goes without question the food was amazing , service was amazing , a gem of a place in Papakura....This is the second but not the last time we will be dining there , im still buzzing how you went to the trouble of making our visit so special .🙂

Amazing food and fabulous service. The new owners has done an amazing job with the fit out,food and the wine list. Its been over 2 years now we been going once a week for sure to dine in. Outstanding food and wine list its all reasonable priced. Couldn't be any better. Please Do try there delicious desserts. It's a Best Mac & Cheese we ever had also 9 hour braised lamb shoulder for two yum yum 😋 😍 !!

We had a dinner with a party of 17 and the food was fabulous. Everyone said their dishes were delicious. The set dinner menu, including platters of nibbles with different options for a main and dessert, was good value and the portions were generous. Will definitely return and try and the lunch menu. The staff were efficient and the rest rooms were spotless. A definite asset for Papakura to have a restaurant of this caliber.

We got a Friday night table without a reservation, but by the time we ate there literally wasn't an empty seat in the place. Meal was delicious, and a good size. Worth the slightly longer wait (no doubt due to being busy), and reasonable on pricing. Will definitely be back, cheers!

We had a family birthday here tonight for a 19y/o, there was 12 of us. Venue was nice, the staff delivered reasonable service. The food was above average, there was a very long wait for the meals. Expect to pay 30 to 40 dollars per head. These guys have the making of a Great food experience but are in serious need of Gordon Ramsay coach to find tune there skill set. I will eat here again in hope that we see a higher standard from a more then capable team. Sorry guys 3 stars tonight.

Our group of 11 unexpectedly found ourselves at Red Earth after trying elsewhere that hadn’t been able to accommodate us. The staff at Red Earth were fantastic and pulled together a table for our group quickly, allowed us the right amount of time to sit and order and were attentive throughout the meal. Our food was terrific, actually, exceptional and the staff were friendly and accommodating. We will be back for sure. Thank you!

Lovely service and great atmosphere. The food however, needs a lift if you want to serve bistro style and charge what they charge. The menu was hard to choose from, there's quite a bit of choice and a fair amount of crossover. The seafood chowder was too thick and screamed for some lemon to cut through. The Mac n cheese was floury. The pork medallion special was oversauced with an overly sweet jus and the potatoes were dry. The highlight was the rocket and pear salad because it was fresh and cut through all heaviness. This place has promise but that menu needs reducing along with the cloying richness of the meals. Also as a wine bar, it would be nice to see some wines that weren't from major producers via Lion or DB arrangements.

Had dinner there today. Great food and service. Good portion size. To start we had the king prawns and the Swedish meatballs. Both were great. For mains we had the lamb shanks and eye fillet with peppercorn sauce with a side of the bang bang cauliflower. The shanks was a little salty but other than that the mains were great. For dessert we had tiramisu and the baked cheesecake of the day which was pistachio with lemon curd and white chocolate. So good!! Will definitely be back.

A great place to eat in papakura. Family lunch was enjoyed by all. We had lamb shanks, crumbed fish, chowder, all well made and beautifully presented. Wish I'd remembered to take 📷. Creme Brulee for dessert was so good served with honey ice cream that also had figs in it. Many dessert options & all looked good. I'll definitely be going back!

No photo's to show sorry, because I was too busy enjoying the hot food. (June 2021) It was great having somewhere to go for a late night coffee, cheese board & dessert. Highly recommend this restaurant for outstanding food and service. The French Onion soup is to die for and great to see a chef who gets the little things right like the Cafe De Paris butter. One of the few places where you can get Grappa to go with the yummy Affogato. Definitely on my go to list when visiting Auckland.

Have been to Red Earth a few times since it's been open and it's never disappointed. Food is great, staff are friendly and it's always busy which means it must be good. Ordered the burger on my last visit - it was simple and delicious. Wife had salt and pepper squid which was perfectly cooked and very tasty.

Omg the pork belly was melt in the mouth divine and the date cake with butterscotch sauce was oh so exquisitely presented and the perfect treat. Thank you for the nice touch of complimentary bread and dip because we had to wait as the place was packed and booked out. Had the tapas option (Arancini, Kara, Prawn cocktails with a salad if I recall correctly), it was okay, nothing special. It most certainly wasn't outright bad, but it wasn't exactly exciting either. The aura of the place was nice. However, the service was a little slow towards the end. Overall, I'd rate it around the average area. Definitely worth a shot. Worth coming back? I don't know. That's up to you.

PLEASE DONT MAKE US SIT ON THOSE AWFUL SEATS AGAIN. We've been to Red Earth 3 times and have been happy with the food and service each time. But, 2 out of the 3 visits they've sat us on tiny, uncomfortable old chairs. The first time we put up with it and it definitely reduced the enjoyment of the dining experience. The second time we asked for different chairs. These chairs are ridiculously small & decorative only. They're not designed for adults to sit in comfortably while eating a meal. Whoever insists they stay should have to sit in them to eat. Chairs aside the meal was once again delicious.

The food was exceptional, the venison well spiced with a herb & juniper berry rub, the seafood platter included fresh green lipped mussels in a laksa, a couple of fresh oysters, fresh salmon to balance the fried stuff really nicely. The staff were warm & friendly & grateful. The wine list was great, included man o war Malbec and some other stunners.
