I.WOW! One of the most delicious burgers I have ever had! Firstly, we were looked after by an incredible young man Igor (who has recently taken over the cafe). He was so warm and made us enjoy our time so much! The food was amazing, plus we could try a bunch of delicious Brazilian food (and beer of course!). I would recommend this place to everyone!

Today we tried the traditional feijoada. It was yummy! The only thing I didn't like it is because they serve in disposable cutlery and paper plates.

C.I am usually very picky about restaurants but I can say I was very happy with this one.The meat was excelent, genuine traditional Brazilian bbq which is very similar to the Argentinian bbq (with charcoal). Abundant and generous plate, for one and a half people. They also sell lots of Brazilian food products. I will defenetly go back as the quality is very good and affordable. I'm sure you eat better here than in many other expensive restaurants. They were very kind with us to put a table outside as we were a big group.

J.It’s always an amazing experience going to Rio 40 degrees but today was worth 100 stars. You could feel like you were in Brazil. Food, service, music and the treatment of the owners and staff was beyond any expectations of the BEST! My Kiwi grandparents were delighted. Thank you guys for another perfect time. J.One of the best food in Auckland!!!!! Vegan/vegetarian friendly!!!! They have awesome dishes with chicken, beef, pork prawns. Friendly people quick food turnover and a nice Brazilian environment!!!!
R.Rio follows a succession of cafes and clubs that have occupied this spot in Pompallier Centre, Ponsonby. I recall Cafe Liaison with fondness. Di and Robyn had a big group of regulars (one dear old fella used to bus over from Point Chev every day for his flat white & eggs on toast). However the rent went up so Di retired & the new owner tore down the old, tatty, but privacy-positive boxes ivy & ferns. The 8-week wait and the hygienic new look meant all those regular income providers found new places and no-one was there to help pay that big rent bill. These days it's had another new look and is a rathr unusual cross between an international food supplier, a second-hand clothes shop, a nightclub and a cafe. But we regular cafe-goers like a bit of character in our hangouts, the coffee's good and newbie owners tend to be eager to please! Best of luck, guys!
L.Chilled Brazilian atmosphere, friendly staff and yummi food. They work selling plated dishes although you can find the famous coxinha and some Brazilian deserts in the display. They also serve a good range of sweet and savory tapiocas and there’s a small stall with some Brazilian delicacies like palm hearts, dendê oil and farofa flour. The food was delicious and well seasoned and it’s worth the price. I’m defined a returning customer!
S.The traditional Brazilian snacks are awesome. We ate lunch as a small group here, some of the meals were good and some not so much. Service was fairly slow, around 20/25 minutes between our groups first and last meals appearing. Definitely a great place for a coffee and some snacks though.
