Tried the hype and it was not bad. I can see why people rave about these if they have limited dumplings exposure growing up. It’s definitely fusion and “hipster” dumplings, not authentic. The dough is a bit thick and the pork filling was a bit dry. I did enjoy the water chestnuts for its crunch, and the crystallized ginger in the chilli sauce.

What we ordered - The Monk w sesame sauce $16.50 We were super excited for these dumplings, partially because they were green and partially because dumplings are just amazing. These dumplings had super crispy bases and big chunks of shitake mushroom and bok Choy inside. I wish the bok choy was cut slightly smaller and there was more shitake mushroom, but overall it was really good. Our server recommended the sesame sauce to us and we were not disappointed. The sesame sauce was sweet and fragrant and I look forward to going back and trying some of the more original flavours. Maybe not the most authentic dumplings but definitely still pretty tasty

Upscale boutique eatery with a vegan option. Good for a quick snack or something to pleasure your taste buds with. Less ideal if you are looking for a filling meal that is bang for your buck. Vegan option (the monk) is not clearly labelled on the menu, it would be advantageous if they did. Overall good experience and glad they are open for business during alert level 3.

I was gonna write something about the price but these are so good it doesn't matter any more. Dumplings are big and full of amazing flavor. The vegetarian ones are delicious. Will most definitely come back.

Thank you to Tony who works at the Botany branch for hooking us up, shot G. Dumplings were yummy, dough is a little thick but loved them anyway. A nice twist on a traditional recipe. Loved the dressing and sauces. Will be back for more.

I ordered half half large three spice prawns and beef cheese with chilis sauce. They are really taste good and highly recommended for people who are looking for lunch or dinner in the cbd area.

One of the best street dumplings I have ever tried. A bit over fried at the bottom but not a big deal because it is cold/frozen and then cooked on the hot plate.

Amazing dumplings for the price.Instead of the standard pork and mince like at other chinese shops this dumping house serve unique and super delicious dumplings. I Got the vegan ones with chilli oil dip. Excellent and flavourful. Great location too

Pretty good. Was expecting a little more flavor from Monk(green ones). Can’t really recommend OG (pork). Shrimp is best I tried so far. Fried to perfection (top soft, bottom crispy)! Suggestion: The beef one sounds like an Italian dish. Would replace that with sth asian. E.g. Kimchi Beef or teriyaki.

Had 'The OG'; the flagship dumplings for this small fried dumpling store. The service was great. It's not the healthiest of dishes, but it does taste pretty good. The 'special' chilli sauce honestly isn't spicy at all and a little bland. It's also worth mentioning this place is pretty expensive. Still a nice experience, though!

10 bucks 10 perfectly cooked pork dumplings...hole in the wall yes but hey the lovely Chinese man who runs the place knows his stuff...was so nice of him to write my family name in Chinese he said and I agree written in Chinese it looks beautiful...

Will come back again :-) _____________________________________________________________________ Good food but had a terrible service from the Lorne Street branch. I ordered 2 x dumpling boxes (8pc each) via Menulog. I only received one when it was delivered. Called the restaurant and the guy admitted he only put one in the bag instead of 2. He then asked me to process my own refund through Menulog because there is nothing he can do. When I told him there is no way to process refund via Menulog, he insisted there was. I asked him to tell me how but he couldn't tell me. The truth is, there isn't as I checked with Menulog. I asked him if he can just send me the second box of dumplings that he forgot to put in the bag. And he said he can't do that either!!??? He then asked me for my bank account number so he can transfer the refund. I sure hope I get my refund otherwise I'm never ordering from them again.

Yummy dumplings! Base is super crispy while the rest of the dumpling is chewy and full with fillings. I got the OG with sumthin chilli sauce. The sauce is soooo nice! Not too spicy. Friendly service too. Definitely will be back to try out other meats! Btw don’t bite into your dumplings straight away. They are REALLY hot. Be patient for it to cool for a bit... don’t burn the roof of your mouth like me 😅

Food is good though it was disappointing to not get the product which was advertised out front. A family pack deal. Once inside, I was told that the deals advertised outside were not valid. Just felt like false advertising to get people in the door.
