First time ever going to Texas Chicken very clean and tidy inside. Nice combo's like the potato & gravy yummy & we order 6pces original chicken delicious. The honey butter buns where like scones & could of had a clearly menu but I'll did enjoy the Tex Wrap original was delicious.

Who wants KFC’s seasonal crispy chicken when you can have it at Texas chicken all year round. The peace’s were massive, the spices had the right kick and the place was clean and nice to sit in and eat. The fries were a bit burned, they need to adjust the frier timer or temperature.

My goodness it was delicious! Chicken so crispy and moist. Absolutely yummy. Customer service was great too. Asked for a few changes and theady that was working at the drive through was so nice and accommodating to what we wanted. We were missing medium fries that we ordered but the chicken and service made up for it

As a regular, the young man that runs the drive through during nights is probably the best thing about this place! Never fails an order, good attention to detail and amazing customer service.

Service is ok though I did see the Manager talk rudely to staff in front of customers. This branch needs work as the chicken is not same standard as other brances. Dry and burnt oil taste was the flavour when i visited on 2 occasions.

2 piece combo meal is more then enough to satisfy your hunger. Very clean and well maintain floor and shop. Plenty of room and doesnt feel congested. The staff were very friendy and professional. Very well done . Thank you very much .

This place is so much better than KFC. It's similar to Church's Chicken in the US. The honey rolls are probably my favorite, but the chicken and mashed potatoes/gravy are very good. It's recommend getting chicken on the bone rather than the chicken fingers. The beating tastes better.

So we have all heard about the horrible reviews about this texas on the community pages, but honestly I have usually always had it fine here. Hot chicken, crunchy hot chips, the first time a western burger was actually spicy for me! And I can handle spice hard out. I only remember one time when I went through drive through and my chips were horrible as in over cooked and cold it was early in the morning and it was like they reheated last night's left overs or something gross like that. But other than that all good no maggots in my chicken!

Good selection on their menu of the different chicken and quantities. Their Mexican Burgers are very spicy and a truly great meal. They have facilities for you to either eat in or for take away service. The chicken wings had a good "bite in them" as well as a good portion of chips. Staff are very friendly. In short, Westgate has The best Texas Chicken franchise overall compared to the ones in Manukau mall and on Lincoln Rd. I've been to those two branches previously disappointed. Try this Westgate one if you were ever disappointed by Texas.C before. [The following in depth review was based on my 1st visit to this particular Texas Chicken Westgate branch @ 3:15pm Wed] Food: (I ordered a 3 pcs Spicy Chicken meal + a Mexicana Wrap) Didn't take long for my order to come as the store was pretty empty at this hour. The FRIES were freshly made, they were hot and crisp on the outside and moist in the center. Flavor wise, just right. Ones that are perfect without any dipping sauce. I was pleasantly surprised. The HONEY BUTTER BUN was great, as in, it was standard and didn't screw up here in any way. Yum yum. SPICY CHICKEN, were still warm by the time I get to them after the fries & bun. They were great with their crunchy coat and juicy tender meat within. Again, I was surprised... I thought Texas Chicken was known for their rather bland tasting chicken but hey I think they improved on it. Like, a bit more savoury with the flesh now. Size wise, they were still reasonably big. Didn't feel like they downsized due to cost cut etc after covid. (Personally I didn't find the chicken spicy at all, like I even doubt if I was given regulars) POTATO & GRAVY, hmmm... Hmmm. Not much in the tiny tub. May be 3-4 teaspoons full and it's gone? They weren't particularly large usually, I know... But I was just complimenting the chicken serve sizes... Now the mashed potato looked sorry. MEXICANA WRAP, as the very last item I ate from my order, it now got a bit soggy from the sauce inside but still acceptable. WARNING! THIS IS SPICY HOT!! I eat spicy food often but after eating this wrap, I had to down a large Fanta and my mouth & lips were still 'burning' for another 10mins. Lol Anyone who loves spicy should try. Be WARNED, if you have a weak stomach. Cleaniness: The dinning area was OK but the toilets can be better. I don't know their cleaning schedules but may be more frequent staff checks required? I guess not too big of a deal as long as you ain't eating inside... Customer service: Not much to review. Just straight forward ordering, pay, get food. Oh yes! They smiled. ~~~~~ Overall I quite like this branch. I walked to this from working nearby so didn't get to review parking. I should have taken photos (esp the food) but have completely forgotten abt it. I will go to this branch again. 😊

The food was really good, and extremely affordable! Meal deal number 1 is great value, especially compared to BK or McDonalds at the $5 mark in my opinion. Meal deal number 1 has a small chicken burger, 2 chicken wings, fries, and a drink. Everything was really good tasting. The store itself wasn't the cleanest, tables could really have done with a wipe and the floor looked in dire need of a mop, but nothing too bad and the A food health rating reassured me. Would recommend if you're looking for a quick cheap lunch in the area.

Very juicy chicken. The manager forgot our chicken wings but he brought it to us and gave us extras. Very friendly staff. The bath room was pretty horrible but when your that busy kinda understand why but would be nice if they did some tidy up

I've ordered some food online from them. Went there at the scheduled pick up time only to be told it's going to take another 8-10 minutes for my food to come. They haven't even been busy! That was quite disappointing. On the bright side, both the chicken and the spicy wings were freshly cooked, crunchy and delicious. Also, the manager gave me two extra spicy wings and apologised multiple times, which I appreciate. Will I be visiting again? Probably. Will I be ordering from them online again? Nope.

Always quick, friendly, correct service and they usually always give you your requested chicken pieces (theyve only failed to give me my request once) and the hunny butter buns are the best! I also love that they have decent chicken piece sizes unlike another chicken fast food chain! Im a texas chicken convert and will never eat from the other chicken place again 🤣

A great place for a quick snack which far out does the other place lol. A good site located in Westgate just across from the movies. So catch your flick and then stroll over to TC and grab yourself anyone of the tasty options. I'm a spicy chicken fan. I love the moist chicken, and the crunch texture when biting into it with the flood of spice and heat! The biscuit is soft and has the right balance of awesomeness and mash. The portions are great and you're not wondering if something is left over. If you're a bit messy, with the finger licking goodness all over ya hands, there's a handy sink to help wash all that off ya! Te them I sent ya and enjoy your next feed! JL

My own opinion, their chicken is much better than oily chicken of KFC. The only problem with texas chicken is they are too greedy when swaping sides, it will cost you additional $1.

Fried chicken lover this food chain will satisfy your dream food every time. I have only tried their jalapeno chicken, hot and spicy bucket deal, and crusted buns. Fried chicken remains crispy for long time, and since I have tried this haven't visited other fried chicken option. Coating remain crispy for long time, slightly variance in quality of service and food depending where you go. 5 star for west gate mall 4 star for Lincoln rd (as most of the time they are out of coleslaw, really, that's a cash cashcow product) 4 star for Manukau mall ( incomplete order) Final tip: save the receipt and finish the survey within 3 days you may get extra drumstick on your next visit ( please double check if the scheme is still valid)

It's a southern chain that rivals KFC, and since they don't deep-fry their chicken you don't get a glob of oil that soaks its way to middle-earth. They often have very long wait times and I don't really enjoy the honey-butter-buns (scones with honey brushed on them). Follow their FB for the best deals and always get a mix of spicy and normal chicken.

Went to this Texas Chicken location today after not having been for some time. The manager on duty (one wearing a grey uniform at the counter? I believe), was very welcoming and provided courteous, quick service - something that I was not used to from my previous visits to this Texas Chicken. (Apologies, I didn't think to look at his name tag, if any, but he was the manager on duty around 2pm today Sat 5 Mar). There was a noticeable positive change in cleanliness and pace of service. Tables and floor were kept clean and free of rubbish (something I noticed the manager took it upon himself to do). Considering we're all going through a tough time with the current covid level and numbers, the kindness and courtesy the on duty manager took time to show customers was very much appreciated (so much so, that I was compelled to write this review). Of course, this being a review for a Texas Chicken joint - in terms of food quality, it's your average fast-food fried chicken - affordable and will fill you up. IMO the honey butter buns were delicious, though don't have too many, otherwise, your waistline will hate you for it.
