I really enjoyed my dining experience at Thai Chef's Restaurant Parnell Auckland. Both the food and the service were excellent. I can thoroughly recommend this restaurant.

The food here is some of the best Thai I have ever eaten, however since having new owners take over the food sizes have almost shrunk in half which is extremely disappointing. To be a 5/5 the food sizes need ti be sorted out

Ordered a pad Thai off delivereasy. Great flavour! Quite saucy and nice and toasty. However, for $27 including delivery the portion size was very small which was sad.

Absolutely fantastic, authentic, Thai food. Everything was fresh, and tasted amazing, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful!

Their food is ok, decent protion size and tasted quite nice. Quite like their fried rice and their green curry very flavorful and the veges in it are still crunchy and fresh. They are very consistent with their food which is very nice. The staff tho, not too consistent in terms of their service. Most of them are quite friendly for most of the time, but occasionally one of the lady is a bit moody and just a big frown on her face.

Yes a very nice uber delivered meal .I ordered and consumed a delicious calamari dish ,beautiful heat that grew on my palate and a very enjoyable experience was had ,calamari was soft but make sure its fresh as this wouldn't of lasted to much longer. The chicken larb was an absolutely joy to eat ,the best I have had ,Thanks Anthony

As a spur of the moment, I tried Thai Chef’s Restaurant at the start of Parnell Rise and I was most impressed by the service when I arrive. Staff was customarily hospitable, as you would expect at a Thai restaurant, but the service was just very personalized and well considered from preference of seating to recommendations and knowledge around the menu. The restaurant decor was beautiful and very Siam kingdom-esque with opulent elephants and Thai silk adornments. I was promptly serviced beverages of Antipodes and a glass of Te Mata Pinot Noir and I ordered the mixed entrees with Seafood Volcano served Thai hot with sticky rice. I initially anticipated having dessert however that wasn’t to be. The mixed appetizers were nice yet very average, consisting of vegetarian spring roll (Rock N Roll), curry puff (Kraree Puff), a dry pork toast (Sleepy Pig In Bed) and a battered mushroom with pork mince (Rainy Season) served with sweet chili sauce. There seemed to be more love put into the names of entrees and dishes. My main from the Extraordinary section of the menu, was not what I expected with The Ocean Volcano, and whilst there was an abundance of seafood with prawns, squid, fish and prawns, the texture of the egg base with vegetables enclosed in foil on a sizzling plate was not a good choice on my behalf and it seemed like an unusual dish. The only other time I’ve had a similar textured dry yellow egg curry style dish with no gravy was a soft shell crab dish which was nicer, but still not a repeat order dish. It really was not what I imagined, therefore I wasn’t keen to try dessert. Overall, the service was excellent and the cuisine was average for Thai food.

We went on monday night. We got the deal 2 for 1 and the portions size was large, the taste of food was good as well but good have more meat in it. Service was good, the place was extremely busy when we went.

I used to live in Thailand and find it hard to find the same food here but Thai Chefs is the closest I've come to the real flavours of Thailand. Their service is great and the food is amazing, my favorite restaurant

Unfortunately the printer jammed and our order wasn't there when we went to picked it up. Buy the beautiful ladies working looked after us till it was cook and that didn't take long. The food was delicious and fresh! Will be back for sure

We have been to Thailand for 3 months..Service and Atmosphere very good. Prices are a bit above average but this is Parnell so to be expected. Curries are good, the other dishes are definitely fusion! 3 stars because of FUSION meals and that's a shame because customer service and everything else is good!

Spent the evening here with friends and we had a great time! The food was amazing and the portions were decent even so far as to package up leftovers for several of our party. The staff were super friendly, didn't rush our meal but were on hand to quickly refresh orders of drinks and the like when requested. I'd certainly dine here again. Thanks for a choice evening!

The food is insanely good, can't fault it - some of the best Thai you can get - spicy and authentic. Gets super busy on the 2for1 Monday, so make a booking to be safe. Customer service is sadly pretty average - customers get turned away when it's busy with no polite explanation, offering for a reservation/call, or take away order. Just "no tables” and you're left to walk out...

I don't often write reviews, but the food was so beautiful, it would be rude not too. Crispy chicken and spring rolls, best ever! Exquisite Tom Kha soup and green curry well above the normal standard. Peppered beef arrived sizzling. Will definitely be back to make our way through the menu.

Very nice ambience, beautiful huge elephants standing "guard" over us. Great service from lovely waitresses, very attentive & refilling our water glasses. Great meal & plenty of it, crispy pork & beef cashew nuts. They were happy to pack what we couldnt eat to take with us too.

The food was great. First time there on the Monday special. Couldn't take any pictures as the staff are too busy rushing you through the process of ordering eating and out before the next lot.

Tried dine in and take away, both experience were great. Yummy green curry chicken is very difference from the usual. If you like creamy curry, that's the place. Only the owners who run the business with heart will really read every single comment from customers and respond it. How's amazing they take the customer seriously. (thumbs up)

OK Thai restaurant with an interesting dish names on the menu. The chicken and beef dishes we had were a little dry and not as flavourful as other Thai restaurants we have been too. Sticky rice was good. Staff were friendly and service was good, but thought it was a little pricey for what we had.

Just ordered chicken pad thai takeaway off the lunch menu for my work colleague and myself. I've never eaten a meal so fast... We both thoroughly enjoyed it and can't stop talking about it. This might be our fave new lunch place. Great serving size for a great price ($12.90) and it tastes like a truly authentic pad thai with plenty of chicken and crushed peanuts on top. Delicious!

The Monday deal was really neat. And the food were sooo good. When you said "spicy", they would give you spicy. Proper ones. Highly recommended the red curry and seafood fried rice. They went well together.

We can't really afford to come out often, so it's really special when we can. We went to Thai Chef's Restaurant in Parnell tonight and all I can say is... Amazing. The restaurant was warm and inviting, the decor and ambient music was spot on (I loved the wooden elephant we were seated next to). The staff were lovely and really made our night out special. Thank you for a fantastic evening.

A lovely meal was had by all four of us. I’d taken three 16 year olds for a birthday dinner. Great value to buy a bottle of sparkling grape juice to share between the three girls. Food came very promptly. We will be back

One of the better Thai restaurants in Auckland. The food is on par for taste and authenticity, the decor of the restaurant is modern yet traditional, and the location is great. The only thing that needs improving is the customer service - this has on occasion been dry and unwelcoming however it does depend on who you get at this is not a consistent experience.

Had lovely lunch catching up with family in central Auckland location, close to Parnell train station which is Really convenient to not have to park. Service was good, just a tad distracted as it's the only explanation I can come up with as to the question while confirming order "is it Laksa for you?", it was clearly said "no, I'm ordering "...minced chicken", " still Laksa was made. They fixed it super promptly and " ...minced chicken" was exactly what I needed, that dish is delicious. Lunch prices are good value here, haven't looked at anything else. Will be happy to come back.

14 people was at our table celebrating the finish of our training course on 1st August. We had the Banquet menu which included Tom Yum soup with tiger prawns. It was wonderful. Everyone enjoyed the meal and the fast cheerful service. As the beer and wine kept coming so did each course with very little waiting time between meals. Loved the the atmosphere, price, staff and we will certainly come back again. First time at Thai Chef but not my last.

We tried this place trough a GrabOne deal. Definitely going to come back. With such a delicious Thai food, hard to come by in Auckland. Was good sized mains, beautifully cooked meals & the Riesling was exceptional according to my VERY critical father in law! Can't wait for the next occasion to dine out, as its a rare opportunity for us. Thank you for making this night so pleasant by serving wonderful meals!

Dined their with my family after my daughters varsity graduation. The staff ,especially our waitress were excellent (I haven't laughed so much for a long time), the food was up their with the best ThaI I have eaten....thoroughly enjoyed the evening and this restaurant will be my first choice next time I am in Auckland. ....and I couldn't believe our luck as it happened to be a Monday night and they were running a special , 2 meals for the price of one as well,....I had a Thai hot curry (it was sensational)

I enjoyed my dinner with my girlfriend at Thai Chefs Restaurant and the Thai food was excellent. Very authentic Thai cuisine and the venue is very nice. Ideal to impress for that special evening with your partner or friends and family. Plenty of room downstairs and upstairs. There is also a VIP room for special functions. Parking was easy at the top of Parnell Rise or lower end of Parnell Road. I look forward to going back for lunch or a special dinner on the weekend.

Food is great and its a good walking to those who are coming from cbd. Food is good not super yummy but good and portion is ok as well. But price is cheaper than arroy thai for sure. The place got a good kick factor. But service is not that friendly. So better book in advance or call them before going there to secure the table otherwise you will have a heated conversation with the staff.

Giving this resto 5 stars! I’ve tried Monsoon Poon(CBD), Jasmine Rice(Remuera), and Thai Village(Remuera) but I must say this one’s the best so far. Simple yet elegant ambience. Staffs are very polite and very good at customer service but never annoying. Price is just right. The food so so awesome! Must try: - Curry puff - Pad thai - Sweet Piglet Parking Tip: They have free parking behind them after 6pm (access via Bath street). Have your dinner around that time to secure a slot.

I have eaten lots of Thai food all around NZ since its arrival in the 1980s. The flavours generated by this Thai Chef's chain of restaurants in their dishes are superior to your 'run of the mill' Thai restaurants. Having been frequent diners at their Napier restaurant, my Hawke's Bay friends and I were keen recently, when visiting Auckland, to ascertain whether Chang and his chefs had maintained that high standard and consistency at the Parnell restaurant also. We were not disappointed; the dishes we chose were still the same old aromatic and flavoursome classics, Naughty Pig, 3 Alcoholics, Mr Bean in Bangkok and Famous Chick. Attention to detail and consistency in the production and presentation of each dish is apparent. I would highly recommend you take your taste buds to Thai Chef's.

Food tasted nice, been a few times as we live locally in Remuera, two of our visit's were on a grabone deal, one last year and the service appears to be somewhat dependent on this, your not the only place that does this but as someone who is happy to pay but also enjoys getting a deal sometimes, the message is simple, I don't make you do the deal so I shouldn't feel like i'm a second tier customer, on Tuesday night we didn't even get asked if we wanted a drink so assuming the thought is Grabone = No money so don't ask. As mentioned though fast service and very tasty food
