Popped in today for lunch and I gotta say the FnC was pretty good despite they were heavy on the batter. The fish was flakey and tasty along with the chips and egg, which I always get with FNC. Overall I was pleased with the service and food. On the down side my nephew ordered the seafood chowder, which I would normally go for. Luckily I didn’t. My nephew felt ill after a couple of spoon fulls so my uncle finished it up. Afterwards he also was hit with an upset stomach and had two trips to the toilet.

Really good place/ food cooked to perfection my wife had pork ribs, I wanted salmon...nice seating/ quick service/ nice place for a hot meal 😋

Had their chicken ceaser salad & demolished it. Very big serving for lunch couldn't finish it but tasted amazing. Beautiful set-up, lots of space inside & lovely staff. Gaming area also available on-site. Toilets are nice & changing table available for those with kids. There's also and upstairs section as well.

Everything was great! Love the atmosphere, comfy booth seats and of course the American style pancakes, washed down with a tropical smoothie for lunch (just wished I had taken a photo). Simply amazing! Looking forward to coming back for dinner and drinks.

Great local spot. Food was delicious 😋 Only a slight con, we felt the surf and turf meal was quite small for $44 and the steak came out over cooked too. But apart from that the waiter was amazing and food was good. Kids portions are big. They even give the kids coulouring packs, which is always a bonus.

This used to be very good place for evening drinks, but since 2022 start, something is off. Quality of Customer service is declined. Been there on easter weekend for drinks, were told that we must eat otherwise they will not serve drinks only. Felt like being pushed a bit as guy on counter was not very polite. Ended up ordering pizza with drinks. As it was clear that, owners/manager have told staff to tell customers about their "food must" policy. But i believe not a best policy, instead if there was a surcharge on prices due to public holiday, we were gonna happily pay surcharge and have our drinks only.

First time here with my partner & I was skeptical going into this place but I was blown away. We weren't approached by the wait staff but overall the food was exquisite. Pork & Scallops were an interesting combination but it blended well together. I had the Chicken Roulade & I wasn't expecting the portion to be large but it filled me up. Compliments to the chef for pulling off a french dish.

Had dinner here for the first time 8/04/22 to celebrate my Mums birthday, and was so impressed with the amazing service, staff were so friendly and accomodating. The food was amazing! Portions were very generous! Will definitely be back again and again!

Food quality was average, not like it use to be. Granted we did get our meals takeaway, but my wife specified some ingredients left out of pasta, but was still added. Still a good place for a casual bite and drink, will eat in next time.

Great ambiance, customer service was wonderful, employees are always kind and caring. The food was lovely, the quality and quantity was worth purchasing the meals.

Lunch for a table of 5. - Steak sandwhich - fantastic and salad was great. - F&C - Very Good - Fettuccine- OK...a tad bland. - Ceaser salad - Very tasty, could do with a few more anchovies but I love them so it's a personal preference. - Seafood Chowder - 13yr old sampled a little and felt ill so he stopped eating and just drank water. His uncle decided to eat the chowder and bring home the Fettuccine. He's now ill and spending his time in and out of the bathroom. Portion wise for lunch service is very good, you won't be disappointed Chowder portion was std but maybe that was a blessing in disguise. It was busy but service was very good and waiting time was also good. We sat outside and we were not forgotten, which can often happen when you're out of sight. Very attentive without being intrusive and they were efficient in clearing our table. Would give 5 stars if it weren't for the Chowder :(

Food was delicious as usual. The shortbread biscuit with creme brulee melts in your mouth. They were incredibly busy for a Sunday night, mind you it comes as no surprise as the service and food are top notch! Shame our original table designation meant we were in a terrible draught but were able to move after another table became available.

Was here for a birthday dinner for a friend. Good quality food and beverages. Very good service. Friendly staff and manager. Only drawback was non of the staff knew how to make certain alcoholic beverage that I specifically requested for the birthday boy.

Simply superb restaurant! I took my family there and had a great experience compared to the other restaurants we'd been to. We were seated upstairs where the staff took real good care of us. They were friendly and very efficient. The gave us some special activities for the kids, so as to keep them engaged while waiting for the food. The food was delicious and was packed with flavor, compliments to the chef! I would highly recommend this place if you're looking for a good night out with friends and family. Even if you live a bit away from Takanini and feel like a drive, then I'd encourage you to go there, it would be worth it. Thanks for your hospitality!

Very polite staff and very helpful, atmosphere was relaxing, really good for families to go. Food was delicious. Didn't wait too long, was a good experience. Will recommend this place for sure.

Fish and chips. Pure and simple. The fish was a bit tasteless and a little dry. Not sure what it was.. but the big fat chips were delicious and a good portion size. Really good service from the waiter but the lady at the front door in control of scanning was rude.

Last year exactly one year ago my girlfriend and I had an amazing experience with their steak. Perfectly cooked. Tonight my "now fiance" and I had their half rack ribs. Absolutely beautiful. Highly recommend the Blacksmith.

Had a really late lunch here on the Saturday. Service was ok, Covid procedures well taken care of. The pork belly was nice, not enough of it 4 small pieces. The deep fried batter which it was incased in was also lovely, nice honey flavor to it but way too rich when the two are together. That was both our opinions. The ribs as usual a great hit lots of it and tasty.

Recently visited with family. You'll experience great service and good food. It's busy during the weekends so get there early as you cannot make a reservation.

Amazing vibe and delicious food. There was live music which was soooo good!! Caters to all diets and is an awesome night out. Waitress was super nice and friendly and very helpful. Massive compliments to the chef!

One of the best places in Auckland to get a hearty filling meal. The ribs are a must, tender, saucy and delicious! Portion sizes are really good just a bit pricy but definitely a good place to go once in a while.

Attended their final Bottomless Brunch for 2020. We had a booking for 12 ladies. Food was great! The let down were the cocktails, the service for the drinks was so slow when they delivered our drinks, we would order the next drinks because the time it took them to deliver the drinks our entire tables glasses were empty. They had 4 cocktails to choose from and ran out of two of the cocktails Strawberry Bellini and Peach Bellini which were the two preferred drinks and failed to tell us so even more time was wasted waiting for our drinks. To improve Bottomless Brunch at Blacksmith I recommend having a separate area allocated to those having the Bottomless Brunch so there could be music playing it was strange not having any music in the background and when asked we were told a customer asked to turn it down. But we were there before the customers and there was actually no music. Assigning a Waitress and Bartender for Bottomless Brunch because as more customers came in the Waitress was trying to tend to customers as well as our table. We also saw one of the staff swear f*** under her breath as she came to our table which we all thought was uncalled for no one was being rude. I wanted to give 4 stars because the food was delicious, the service and drinks can be improved but when a waitress swore that was just unprofessional.

Ok so you feel like some time out to enjoy yourself with someone special... here is the place to go. Magic food, service and atmosphere. Thank you very much for making our meal outstanding. 6 stars.

Pleasantly surprised, have been a few times and found it too packed in the past, but this time, although busy it was a pleasant experience, maybe because it was a little later in the day ...after main lunch rush.

After being disappointed with tonights service and meal. (Sunday 6th March 202 between 8. - 8.45pm) I have spoken to Rachel who was very understanding of my disappointment, and i have let her know that I am happy to return in the future to enjoy a meal again, as the food is often very enjoyable. .

If you are looking for a decent place for a Fri night dinner, this is it.. very customer friendly staff. I ordered a small pizza which took slightly longer. The manager came to our table explained why it was taking long and gave us a large pizza to compensate the delay.. extremely pleased with their customer service.

Eggs Benedict was delicious. It's a reasonable portion for $20. If you like bacon it's perfect...lots of it. Too much maybe. A bit salty. We were in a group of about 20 and they served us pretty quick. Friendly and efficient staff. Nice environment.

Great scene! However when we were about to pay, the staff added another tables entire bill onto our tab! Luckily we checked the receipt and got the items we didn't order removed. Be wary people!

Excellent services. Great place for kids too. We ordered the Blacksmith shared platter, kiwi supreme pizza and the cheese burger - (kids menu). Boys loved their chocolate ice shakes. Food was great. We barely couldn't finish our meal - so we packed it in a takeaway box.

Great hospitality from the lady upstairs. Meals very big portion and delicious. Lots of good tv screens as I came for the All Blacks game. Massive selection of drinks to order too. Space everywhere, a massive building. Recommend to everyone

Meals were delectable and service staff were great....although one small suggestion for the lunch menu would be to have more selection of "cooked" seafood meals as we had one pescatarian with us who had to have the seafood chowder as the fish and chips meal as well as the seafood platter were deep fried.....but he was happy with the chowder nonetheless.

Have dinner alone and ordered the full rack spare ribs. The spare ribs are tender and juicy. The fries are too small portion for the dish. (And have to pay for any sauces!! For restaurant price??) Will be back to try other delicious dishes on the menu with bigger group. Dog friendly and spacious outdoor sitting.

I got half stack ribs meal and it was some of the best ribs Ive had. Beautiful place to sit in and eat and the staff was great

Love the decor at Blacksmith. Waited about 30mins for two meals but we were pre-warned and didn't mind the wait. A little inconvenient that we asked for water but didn't get it, I asked my husband to get it for us. Ribs were a little dry and not enough sauce, slaw was yum though. Pork belly was tender, cabbage was delicious, mash potato went well with it. Pink panther is not worth the price - 8.00pm, 18.08.17.

Had lunch today ordered the brisket wife had the cheese burger,both meals were excellent,the brisket was amazing would definitely recommend.service was great as well.

Was ok had 16 people at our table only issue was waiters would bring drinks but never took the empties and the table just piled up food was 9 out of 10 ordered a massive 8 glass beer thing that comes with a free pizza we didn't get the pizza because the person who ordered the beer thing went home bullsxxt

Booked a table of 5 for a belated birthday dinner for my youngest daughter. We all have had both covid vaccinations and both my wife and I have had booster shots. My daughter had tried all day to download the covid passport without success. So we thought to be on the safe side, we would sit outside in case there were any problems with my daughter. She had her card showing she had had both vaccinations. To cut a long story short, we were not even allowed to sit outside even when we explained the situation that 4 out of the 5 of us had covid passes and one didn't. The person on the door advised that we could not sit outside and have dinner which ultimately resulted in my daughter bursting into tears. So we politely told the staff member to cancel our reservation and we will go elsewhere. Considering this is/was one of the kids favorite places to go for dinner, I am now reluctant to recommend or even return to the Blacksmith if this is what customer service from them is like. I understand rules are rules and entering the premises would explain the need for a covid passport, but we choose/attempted to eat outside. If the Blacksmith are trying to lose customers, they are going about it the right way. After lockdown I would have thought common sense would prevail but obviously it does not apply in this case even when suggesting eating outside. Great way to lose current and future business. Update: After speaking to the Blacksmith today, I was advised that our experience was not within their control. They have to abide by New Zealand law which states the outside part of their establishment comes under the same terms and conditions as the inside of their establishment. Just to add, my daughter had to create a new email address and finally was able to get the covid passport. If you are reading this review, please note my frustration was initially targeted at the Blacksmith but after discussing our experience with them, it became apparent this was beyond their control and hence I have edited my rating to reflect past experience (per lockdown).

Great meals, attentive service, didn't cost a fortune. Excellent selection of refreshments and lots of different sports on the oversize screens.

Don't know haven't been there for dinner yet but it looks great always lots of people eating

I ordered an $18 seafood pizza and it was so bland and tiny! Not worth $2 a slice IMHO. The ambiance is nice and the cappuccino is good. But I doubt I'll be back here anytime soon.

Finally, it's open again! We had a lovely dinner, food exceeded expectations, from the Parmesan crusted camembert entrée to the Crème brulee dessert. Dad even asked if he could lick the plate after his chicken roulade!

Atmosphere is ok but nothing amazing in food. We ordered a pork belly and it was too greasy and the side dish was tastes less. Service there is uneven. Some waitress is smart and friendly some are impatient. Hope this place can be as good as the GOOD HOME as we all living in area and kind of want to make this restaurant become our routine.

Waited 30 minutes for a waitress, ordered drinks and our Meals, after another 30 minutesr I went up to the bar and asked where they were. It took another 10 minutes for 1 beer and 2 waters to turn up, so about 1hour 10 minutes for a drink. Meals turned up 20minutes after that so probably 1 hr 30minutes. Meals were all very good its just a pity the organization was so poor, they were very busy but couldn't handle it. We seen at least others complain. Management contacted me after this review and were very concerned which I feel is great that they cared. I am sure things regards service will improve in the future. Give them a try..

Great atmosphere! Amazing staff! Delicious food! We went here for our work Xmas party and had an absolutely amazing time! The interactions we had with staff were always pleasant and lovely. Even during the planning process of pre-ordering food and everything they were great and really helpful (thanks Jessica!) and then the service on the actual day was great! Definitely worth the visit for small or large gatherings!

We had a booking of 20 people (6 of those were 2 and under) last night for a 22nd birthday and the service was absolutely amazing!! We all made our orders once everyone was seated and maybe 10minutes later food was already arriving at the table, HOT and perfectly cooked! (Quite large servings too!) I cannot find a fault in the service we were given, the waitresses were lovely and so accomodating. Desserts were brilliant, large and we couldn't finish them haha. Highly recommend this place and I will definitely be returning!

Great staff great food! The staff were very friendly and willing to change things around when I wanted a starter as a main. Also let me sample the cider to see if I liked it. There is a huge menu and plenty of gluten free and vegetarian options .

One of my favorite restaurants, food was delicious and very good size meal. Very good for a local restaurant. Highly recommended Maybe one feedback on the pork belly not to take the fat part out as some people like it. I took my family and friends there on the long weekend and they all loved it

I booked via their website and within minutes I was contacted to confirm whether any of our group had any dietary requirements. Excellent service. On the day, our meals were absolutely delicious and service impeccable. Our two year old was given a pack with crayons stickers etc. What a wonderful idea. Her meal was also brought out promptly. The chef wasn't happy with one of our meals, which was actually eaten without complaint. Chef surprised us by making another full meal to take home. Thankyou. We will be back and cannot recommend The Blacksmith enough.

Beautiful place to eat in and dine. Been here twice for me and hubby's 20th Wedding Anniversary 🍹💍🎉 and my 38th birthday 🎂🎁🍾 with my family it was Awesome! Got seated where we wanted to sit so staff was fair and great with this, totally clean restaurant, food Omg! Was delisioso! Surf and turf and the big platter fed my family of 7 with leftovers to take home was nice that we could do this. Hope prices haven't gone up as I really enjoy this place 😊👍

This restaurant is definitely one I'll come back to. They have a whole vegan menu available. Perfect for a family dinner or lunch dates! Atmosphere is viby and staff are friendly. Would recommend 👍🏼

I have enjoyed eating on the two occasions I have visited. Their menu has something for most people with generous portions. On both occasions I have had to leave with a doggy bag. Totally recommend The Blacksmith for a meal

Came for a private function upstairs, the staff were very kind, and the food was excellent- better than the $200 per head venue for the actual wedding reception a few days earlier. Double cooked herby potatoes, delicious bread rolls, juicy meats and a flavourful ham. Dessert was also excellent rhubarb and apple crumble that had just the right level of sweetness and perfectly textured pavlova

Came out for lunch with coworkers on a Monday. Only one other group in the restaurant. Very clean establishment. Good selection of meals from the lunch menu. I had the Steak sandwich which was beautifully cooked with a side of onion rings and fries. My coworkers had the lamb shank and the Blacksmith cheeseburger. Both meals looked delicious. Customer service was great. Food came out fast (mind you there was only one other group). Will come back and try out the dinner menu next time.

This is our go to restaurant for my family. Love it here, starting from parking, always plenty. You don't have to park very far to get to the restaurant. The restaurant/bar is so inviting either it be in a quite setting upstairs or in the bar downstairs. The food is a alqays so delicious. I usually have lamb shanks and alway demolish the whole plate. No matter what we order were never dispointed.their platter and breads are yummy. Hardly ever have room for dessert. The hostess/staff are so.lovely and attentive. Great place to have any sort of gathering,whether it be the 50th bash or the 21st. Atmosphere is so relaxing.

We were seated downstairs for a birthday dinner on 10/07/20 (adults & children) food was amazing kudos to the chef/s. The staff were awesome so welcoming and available the staff looked happy and that's how they treated everyone. Was just like being with extended family, a great night out. Highly recommend for great food and company.

A group of us had lunch , an my goodness the food was amazing, great portions, the service was amazing g an nothing was a bother. Had lunch with my boyfriend my Mum. On arrival, we were met immediately, directed to a suitable table, and then had great service from that point onward. Drinks were taken care of, delivered and good order consisted of chicken wings, meat lovers pizza, seafood chowder and hand cut fries. All of the dishes were beautiful and delicious. Thanks also to the lovely ladies that provided great service especially Adele. The whole experience made our Valentine's lunch all the more special. Ngā mihi

We've been here a couple of times and everytime we've enjoyed the delicious meals and the friendly staff. Would be great if there are additions to the list of Entree items, but otherwise great for small groups, family dinner, work parties. Very nice kids meals too.

Tonight was my first time trying out this restaurant. My meal (Big Daddy Steak) and dessert (Summer Duo) did not disappoint in taste, and were done up beautifully. The waitress was friendly enough, even through her technology issues taking our orders.

This is a family favourite for us although on our last visit we had to wait for one of our tables meals to come out for a while after the others. Food is always good, although we've noticed on a few occasions that you don't always get what you order. Meal with fries missing fries etc. Still yummy food and service is usually good. Good for kids too. One of our go to's for those family get together occasions.

Had a $5 side veges and curly fries when having few drinks with friends on Fri night (23/7/21) the portion was really good for the veges and fries were yummy..service was also friendly too 👍

Great for large groups, they have an informal dining area and a smart casual dining area if you're feeling fancy. They do big portions for good prices. Staff are very friendly, booking a table was a breeze. Will definitely go again!

Meal was ok when I eventually got it after having to ask for it. Everyone else had received their food so by the time I had finished my meal had to bypass the desert. Although I got a free glass of wine

Blacksmiths has an extensive menu to suit a lot of different tastes. I've taken overseas visitors here who were very impressed and wanted to go back more than once to sample other dishes. Meals are always hot, good quality, substantial portion sizes and served quickly, even when they're busy. I like to sit upstairs as it can be a little quieter when it's very busy on a weekend night. Staff are always attentive and prompt. This restaurant and bar is good for bigger groups as well.

We had such a beautiful time here... The staff especially were awesome we were greeted Stright away & seated. The staff knew there menu & answered all our questions. The food was delicious the ribs omg was delicious the staff weren't to far away from us so if we needed anything they would come Stright away they were really attentive my family really loved that. THANK YOU FOR THE BEAUTIFUL FOOD & THE AWESOME SERVICE... Please continue with the good work.

Lamb shank was excellent and the banana creme Brule was outstanding. Very reasonably priced and excellent serving staff. Try it. You won't be disappointed.

This place is massive and was pretty much all booked out. Had the sirloin steak which was a massive serving of food. The steak meat itself was of good flavour but the outside slightly a little too chargrilled even tho cooked well inside...it made the flavour a bit over powering... The wedges slightly under cooked. Drinks came out after the food which was weird having ordered at the same time. Overall a lovely place and will return. Great customer service and friendly.

Ribs needed to be cooked longer in the oven. Could taste the boildness if that makes sense.(left in water too long.)Pasta was good

Blacksmith never ceases to deliver high quality mouth watering food. I took my daughter here for her 16th with her friends. Personally I would say their signature dish is the BBQ Rib Platter, 2.5kg of Pork Ribs done to perfection every time. All the mains are a more than generous serving size. I can't come here without getting the Ribs, if you've been here and haven't had the ribs, or even planning on going here, the Ribs are a MUST!

I enjoyed this place. The food was good and service was on point. Its especially a great venue for sports fans with all the big screen tvs to watch.

The wait staff are lovely. I enjoyed my meal although my steak was meant to be medium well. Have been here many times was disappointed with tonight's visit because 3 of the 4 people I dined with had to return their meals for one reason or another.

Was able to do the bottomless brunch which I would recommend. Value for money. $47.50 for 4 course meal and drinks. A good variety of drinks compared to other bottomless brunches that I've been too the only drink I didn't really like was the mojito but the others were enjoyable. I enjoyed the meals (eggs benedict, pork bao, pancakes that were massive and panacotta). I enjoyed the panacotta at the end but my friends didn't like it as much. What made the experience better was the efficient service from ethan and another young woman (didn't ask sorry) but they were both very polite and ensured our drinks were topped up throughout our sitting. The manager was also able to ask for our feedback which I thought was cool as I am aware this was their 2nd week running the bottomless brunch. Will definitely be back again 😊

The food was nice but I found the service very poor.. Barman was way too slow at serving drinks while another female staff member was just there doin god knows what. Our table waitress took too long at taking our orders, and then never offered us the option of desert, so we decided to go elsewhere. Meanwhile the male waiter that evening seems to be the only one with a sense of urgency.. but as for the venue, very nice. "An E rating restaurant with awesome service will bring me back anytime.

It's a little off the beaten track, but well worth a visit. I had the Duo Of Duck & my wife had the Slow Roasted Lamb Shanks, both were well portioned, and nice and hot on arrival. Even managed to squeeze in Desserts as well, I had the White Chocolate and Raspberry Creme Brulee, and the wife had White Chocolate Sundae special. We left well stuffed with smiles on our faces. The staff were friendly, and explained the menu and gave recommendations too.

Ordered 2 x sirloin steaks with a Fejoa & Apple smoothie. Requested medium steak for both my orders, received one medium rare and the other was well done. Needless to say both were like rubber with the sauce in the side being the only redeeming quality. Certainly not impressed with my $70+ dollar meal when a cafe does a better job for less.

Tried this place out for the first time in February as it was highly recommended. Worth the drive out to here. The food is beyond amazing and the service is great. As a result we've come here at least once a month. the value for money here is awesome and a must try for meat lovers is the ribs. They are the most mouth watering ribs, meat just falls off the bone and melts in your mouth. Another fav is the blue cheese pizza. Make sure you book just in case because this place can get extremely busy and if it does there is a slight wait for the food. But totally worth the wait I reckon 😊

Server was lovely friendly and welcoming. Possible Managerial staff not so. When the server disappeared doing some set up stuff and I went up looking to place an order was fully ignored by two staff chatting. Poor server had to come running back to me in a panic. Whether or not he was supposed to have been standing there waiting, if you want to keep customers happy you should make them a priority regardless of who you are. Can't expect your workers to work at a high level if you refuse to acknowledge a customers existence yourself. Welcoming vibe went out the door pretty quick ... The bread loaf was freaking amazing. Props to the kitchen for their amazing blue cheese dip and herb butter. To die for I promise.

Very good manner that the manager on duty organise our table for the quiz night and to dine. Meals were a bit pubby but loaded with chips to make volume. Wait staff particularly on busy nights could be more aware of diners needing service, drink refreshments etc

It was surprisingly busy for a Sunday night but there was enough room. It's a very easy going family atmosphere. The food was amazing and large portions so ask before you order.

Good pub atmosphere, with the largest screen I have seen in a pub, so good for a pint and sports. Restaurant upstairs if you can for a bit more formal dining. Staff are friendly, food is good with nice portions, reasonably priced, with all your favourite main beers on tap.

The food and service was mediocre, and the price was reasonable, this is not a restaurant but an Eatery as in their name. The 5 star item on their menu is their R18 Sundae, and is a good size to share, I recommend that if you dine here that you order one of these ! We will return for just this item alone.

They have the best customer service there every one is so nice and makes sure your happy with your time there. The workers are so happy even when there busy. And the food is the best I've tasted always is every time not just a ones off. Love it.

Had lunch here on a Saturday. They don't do table service unless you leave your credit card behind the bar. I ordered seafood basket & there was no fish bites like it said in the menu. When I mentioned it, they kindly gave me 4 fish bites later.

Have gone here regularly for over 4 yrs. Without fail the food is great. Good selection of food and drink plus special menu options. Recommend joining their regular members club for improving the value even more.

Table service was slow. Pizzas were amazing, had the blacksmith cheeseburger, generous portion but burger pattie was very very dry. Would go back for the pizza and to try something else on the menu

I went today with my work colleagues. There were 18 of us. We were told we had to go up to the bar to order drinks even though drinks and meals were all on one tab. I had the BBQ Pork Ribs half rack which there were a lot of. The meat and BBQ sauce were nice but had a lot of fat on which I spent some time putting to one side. It would had been a good idea to leave a small water bowl to wash fingers afterwards like they do in the USA. I would definitely go back though as all the other meals looked really good so I'd be keen to try a few other dishes.

Nice pub and bar been here multiple times. Food is a little pricey for pub food however they have great deals on. Tried the 1/2 price ribs on Mondays a couple weeks back and the ribs tasted like bbq sauce. No other flavour.

My whanau and I went to celebrate my sisters birthday. The place was lovely and warm and very welcoming. Family orientated as our 8yr old nephew was able to come. They even presented our cake for us. The service was exceptional. I got the Pork Belly for mains and Vanilla and Raspberry Creme Brulee. Absolutely devine. Best Creme Brulee I have ever had. Very satisfied diners.

Got the lamb shank meal and it was really good. Pretty unique and flashy inside with massive tv screens to watch while eating, great atmosphere. One of the better places to go to when in south Auckland.

Wow what an experience. Had a full rack of ribs and they were huge full of meat with the best sauce ever. The cheesecake was fabulous, others in the group had great burger's and delicious Khalua and ice cream.

Great customer service from Jay and Steph and the food portions were HUGE!! Guests were pleasantly surprised to find a hidden gem out South and some even dined again the next week. Chefs, your food was outstanding ... I had so many people saying how generous the portion sizes were and how great the food tasted. Thank you for making a nervous mother calm on the night. The Blacksmith is a fun place to go have a drink and pubquiz but the food was awful. I ordered the Mezza platter and the chicken leg was way over cooked, I couldn't even bite into the coating. The lamb kofta was chewy with gristle and the chips stone cold and greasy.

We rang & booked a table for 4. From the moment we arrived till when we left we were well treated. The food we ordered was excellent, well cooked & hot. The service was great, we would have no hesitation in recommending this place to anyone.

Gastropub that I'd easily rate above Garrison's in Ellerslie both in terms of food and service. Has bar atmosphere downstairs or more restaurant upstairs. Be aware there are big screen TVs both upstairs and down - downstairs is sports plus cartoons, upstairs ambient nature channel. Haven't hit any of the issues described by others, even on busy nights when we've been squeezed in

Great place to eat either casual or dining. Watch big sports occasions like the All Blacks or add I did Joseph Parker v H. Fury. Tidy, clean, great wait staff. Will be visiting again . . .

I would give 5 stars...it should get them...perhaps next visit...never disapoints...always leave impressed with the meals..cold beer and wonderful staff...see you soon..

Food was good but took 2 hours to get our food and 40min just to get a drink. 🤔

Good place. This was my first time. Good food servicings. Was tasty. Only down fall was the tables being sticky.....

First visit to The Blacksmith and loved it! Ambience and decor was lovely, food menu is huge and tasted great and staff were all very pleasant, will definitely be visiting again!
