Brilliant pork scratching - puffy, crunchy and salty. Comfy couches, chairs in an airy and light space. The prices are reasonable, the selection is fair. We also had the fried chicken with tasty seasoning.

Great ambiance and a fantastic selection of beers, vino and liquors to choose from. Yes it is on the $$ side but you pay that for the experience and the location. Our meals were very well presented and tasted amazing. The pizza crust was crispy and toppings delicious. The salad bowls looked fresh and the dressing was tangy! Recommended you visit with a medium - large group.

Really lovely location with friendly staff. There was lots of seating inside and a few tables outside with a lovely view. There was tones of options on the menu at reasonable prices. The pizza was absolutely delicious and great value for money. It was extremely cheesy and generous portion. The fries were crunchy and delicious. Also a generous sizing. There were lots of big tables and tones of drink options. Perfect for a group environment or smaller groups as well.

First time here since it has been reopened as The Brit and what a transformation. The environment is very welcoming and much better setup to serve. Great beers on tap, fantastic line up of wine and food choices that will take many visits to get through. We had a great experience at The Brit and will be going back. Great place which is lively and has a good ambiance. It feels like a trendy and modern grand cafe. We really enjoyed our stay here with the drinks (draft beer!!) and our pizza for dinner. Recommendable.

Our first visit and we were impressed. We went for after work drinks around 5pm. It was fairly busy but we were able to get a table and drinks quickly. We just had the hot chicken to eat and it was very good and very hot!! The mayo on the side helps to cool it down. The interior is a lot lighter and brighter than before and the music is at a good level so you can still easily have a conversation. The staff were attentive and friendly, and we would definitely return especially as the location is so convenient.

Renovated Northern Steamship bar. Much nicer fit-out now, very relaxing. Not too loud, you don't have to yell at each other to be heard. Great bar for catching up with friends or a Tinder date. Good drinks menu and the food is good too. Great location on Quay Street near Britomart. Highly recommended.

We just came to check what was around and find your service great not over bearing but just the right and as l am a beer drinker l did sèe if she know her beers and stuff and she did well done. And the location from where it is is great can't want for the road works to end this is the only thing your miss, your get the foot traffic but the city works is letting you down sad but true, can't wait to this place again when l return.

The place is very nicely renovated, it wasn't very busy at all. The service was good with friendly staff,but unfortunately on the day there was no real atmosphere because I think everyone was on the other side at Wynyard Quarter watching the America's Cup Race.

The decor, food, location and music are fantastic. But...each time we have gone...the service from the bar staff (one in particular) has been absolutely horrendous. It feels as if we are a nuisance, inconvenience and that when ordering food and drinks the staff member hates every minute of trying to assist us. I wouldn't normally make a fuss of this...but the same thing has happened on multiple occasions, and Saturday night was too much to not say anything. Without the service issue...the place would be a 5 Star.

Lovely relaxed place in the city for a drink, nice staff. Been a few times, decor has changed since last here. Still need to try the food, looked good what was being served to others, will check it out for myself next visit.

I really liked this place as I went in after returning from the Coast to Coast Auckland Walk desperate for a long thirst quenching drink. I ordered a pint of Lime, Soda and ice, and they gave it to me complimentary. I read the menu and returned in the evening for the lamb rump which was excellent, and a pint of Pale Ale. They seemed to have a good selection of drinks: beer & cocktails. Although I passed by previously on Friday and Saturday they were incredibly busy so I did not go in. I am glad I did on the Sunday when it was quieter.

Excellent bar, relaxed atmosphere and great service.

Thoroughly enjoyed a shared pizza with friends for lunch. Great place and friendly staff. Will enjoy going back again.

We went there several times while in AKL. Wonderful ambiance, great drinks (Mac”s cider is my favorite) and food (margherita pizza is delicious!). Josie was especially helpful, though the whole staff is friendly and very nice. Also, very clean bathrooms. Hope to go back to NZ and find The Brit is still there and still awesome.

I was a bit apprehensive about visiting this establishment as I found it a bit dreary and grim on previous visits under different ownership and branding. But I was pleasantly surprised by how much lighter the pub was, service was good, beer selection was OK, some craft beers on tap, and the food was good. Recommend

The menu is a little bit of a cheat, the chips that come with my lunch are similar those you get in a bag from the supermarket.... instead of the fish and chips type of chip that you would expect at a pub. Food is average, environment is decent.
