S.When it comes to burgers in Auckland, it doesn't get any better than The Chosen Bun. Crowd favourites are the 5 Star Man and the Golden Phoenix. Perfect option for Gluten Free and Coeliacs alike.
N.First time here today.
Burgers were fantastic. The staff were very friendly. The food came out quickly.
Fries were fantastic & came with a generous amount of aioli (not stingy like some other places). The shake (had the Choc Fish) was good too.
Will definitely be returning in the future.

s.Best burger in Auckland!
While Auckland is currently taken with the fad of smashed burgers (nothing wrong with them) the chosen bun is focusing on quality.
The beef patties are flavourful,thick and juicy. The brioche bun is soft and gives a good bun to meat ratio. But what makes these burgers great is the overall taste. The team have crafted some outstanding burgers here and have clearly thought about flavour balance. The 5 star man with simply exquisite onion rings, great cheese selection and perfect sauce matches the excellent foundations of meat and bun. This is a burger that satisfies at every bite!
R.For our first experience there the burgers and fries were both tasty. We enjoyed our meal. Our only issue was hospitality. With COVID restrictions in place we stepped into the place and waited. There was a table there with the COVID qr code and a sign saying please wait to be seated. It took a while before the staff that were standing at the counter greeted us and asked if we'd like to eat in. Apart from that food was lovely. Will be back to try the Golden Phoenix and see whether I can pump this up to 5⭐!

I've been here a number of times so far and they haven't disappointed yet. Burgers are on the expensive side and you'll wait while they prepare it... BUT IT'S WORTH IT!!
My first visit, I accidentally ordered The Righteous One (portobello mushroom burger W/grilled halloumi, onion rings & red pesto aioli). I'm not a vegetarian by nature but this burger could actually convert me.
Next time you're hungry, run don't walk here. Your stomach will thank you.
B.A fairly recent opening, it is already quite busy. There is a small dining area which has about 7 tables as well as a bar along the window. When I went it was full most of the time with people waiting for tables.
The menu is fairly simple, a range of different burgers with interesting combinations, as well as sides and drinks. You order at the front and then either wait for a takeaway or sit at a table. They conveniently have the wait times written behind the counter.
We ordered shakes with the burgers along with the onion rings and fried chicken sides. They were all good. Onion rings were nice and crispy as were the chicken. The shakes were delicious and creamy. The burgers were tasty and juicy. A good place to stop for a burger that is slightly different from the norm.
A.Burgers are amazing and always tasty, not to mention huge portion size (great value for money). Great gluten-free options too, much appreciated.

K.This is a great burger joint. Loved the big smoke flavor. Was a bit disappointed that we couldn't dine in after a long drive due to their distancing rules, could have easily and safely accommodated a few tables though.
A.Very reasonably priced. I love that they have the option of a burger bowl for the low carb foodie - won me over with that option alone! Most places do a bun-less burger that is over in a few bites. These “bowls” are an actual meal. I had The Holy One - very generous and delicious, and the mozzarella sticks are really good. Small space so you’d want to get in quick for a seat. I will def go back! I can’t wait to try another option.

M.Golden Phoenix burger was delicious and very crispy. Fries portion was small for the price and the texture was mediocre so maybe skip on them.
c.Fries were the best part, really excellent. Burger was pretty good, but I haven't felt like rushing back for another. Chocolate shake was really disappointing (especially considering the price) - just seemed like a chocolate milk with cream on top. I'd be 4/5 if it wasn't for the shake.

A.Delicious new burger joint opened about 200m from our house! Highly recommended. Good 4/5... Still brand new, I reckon they could improve to a 5 easily ;) I think asking the customer how they would like the meat cooked would be an improvement - I prefer my burgers medium rare. Also, my wife won't stop banging on about you guys needing to maybe make lettuce and tomatoes an optional extra. She likes that kind of thing, I love burgers without the wasted garnish :)
T.Best burgies in the biz! Newly opened in Stonefields and will be a fixture for years to come. I had their signature Chosen Bun and the Hot Chick. Both were generous and absolutely delicious. The buns themselves are definitely a highlight, earning the place its very clever name.
I'm looking forward to working my way through the rest of the burgers (Can't wait to get that Golden Pheonix in and around my mouth) as well as some of those sides (All gluten free!!)

V.Wonderful burgers! I reckon your golden phenix is a burger even grandpa Rick would jump dimensions for - it has just the right amount of sweet and spicy. ;-) also coleslaw > (lettuce + tomatoes).

M.Burgers are always spot on, no matter which one you choose. Five Star Man is a favourite in our house. The service is impeccable - the staff are always helpful and are great at recommending suggestions for intolerances or preferences (even suggesting pregnancy-friendly alternatives to ingredients).
If you're really twisting my arm, the only thing I could say needs improving are the sides. We're big on kumara fries, but these were not as great as we hoped they'd be when compared to the quality of their burgers. Milkshake was also a bit on the thin side for our preferences. But on the whole, love this place and always recommend it to friends.
T.Finally had a chance during lockdown to try our local burger joint. Wow!!! where have you been all my life. My daughter and I both ordered Chosen Bun & Fries with Aioli each, delicious brioche burger bun, homemade patties. Our new local fave. Well Done
S.Doesn’t get any better than this! What a burger! Probably the best I’ve ever had. And super fresh fluffy soft GF buns were a big plus. Perfectly crispy GF chicken popcorn. Staff were super nice and accommodating. Warning: burgers are big and super filling even though the sides are amazing you may need to takeaway the leftovers.

It is reasonably priced around $11 - $14 for a burger (a good size and quality might I say).
Aesthetic:
The place is super cute, in the fact it is quite a small venue - but it works! It's a subtle blend of American Diner and generic modern restaurant.
Food:
Super yummy!! I usually go for the Hot Chick burger but when I decide to push the boat out and try other burgers, they never let me down. For example I thought I'd try the 'Chosen Bun' and although it was the most basic one on the menu. It was sooo good with fillings and size and meat quality.
Don't even get me started on the Kumara fries. The normal ones are good but the kumara fries are just incredible here. They're warm, soft but have enough crunch.
The milkshakes are fantastic too. I recommend the Chocolate Fish one.
Staff:
Everytime I come, I am greeted by smiley staff who are quick to ask if I want water etc and even if there is a queue they won't rush you or seem agitated at all.
For example, my friends and I were told it would be a 10min wait for our food but were offered some water and a table to chill at.
Conclusion:

B.We had a ‘chosen’ & a ‘Phoenix’ and... We agreed they were the best burgers we’ve ever had! Fresh, crispy yet juicy, the flavours all worked so well together. Service is so friendly and if you really want to treat yourself, the shakes are sublime.

A.Without a doubt, the best burgers in town! Not only do they cater towards Coeliac's, their burgers are so delicious, the fries are cooked to perfection and the service has been award winning every time. You'd think you were in Wellington! They are seriously fantastic and couldn't recommend them enough! The Chosen Bun is our family go-to since my wife is Coeliac and there's not many places you can really trust . Try the 5 Star burger, it's my personal favorite.

S.The Chosen Bun is the most amazing burger restaurant in Auckland. It may seem pricey at first, but everything on the menu is worth every penny. The restaurant is a bit small, so a reservation would be a good idea for any customers who come from a distance.

I can especially recommend the chicken burgers as they are out of this world good. I typically don't like chicken burgers so you can imagine how good they must be :P

N.Absolutely delicious burgers, perhaps the best I've had in Auckland. The bun is a particular strong point, seeded brioche which has a crunch and doesn't get soft or soggy. Chips and fish bites were delectable and the milkshakes were unique in flavour. Be advised however that the wait can be extremely long in the evenings and an ETA is written on the mirror behind the counter.
