Excellent service from staff. They were kind and friendly. We hoped the food would have been a bit better though, it missed some essential flavors that we hoping to get. We've had the same dishes elsewhere and found that this place missed to hit the spot. It was a bit pricey too compared to the other restaurants around. I would encourage you to go if it's your first time, personally I wouldn't repeat.

The potato mash, steak and Texan style bbq were hearty and I’m incredibly pleased with the portions we were given. Staff were friendly and had no problems with the seating, great environment for a casual night out! Would love to come again 😊

Friendly staff and tasty food. Great interesting decor. Some of the food wasn't amazing, but for a gastro put it was of a good quality that you'd expect. Lots of quirky books and art pieces around made for an interesting place to grab some lunch. Thanks team!

Easter Sunday - nice of them to open! We enjoyed dining here. Massive place, so fascinatingly and coolly decorated/designed - really interesting to look around! The young lady that served us was fantastic - friendly, efficient and helpful! Humongous portions of food and high in quality, too. Legit, the biggest chicken "patty" I've ever had in any burger anywhere! No one on the table was able to finish their meal, so we took away the leftovers. Really tasty grub... fantastic flavours that were all so distinctive! Easily worth the money. We'd recommend and definitely go again :)

Enjoyed a very generous portion of Chicken Roulade washed down with a glass of Kopiko Bay Merlot. My friend selected the Beef Burger stabbed with a steak knife! The staff are friendly and efficient. Tyla served our table. The quiet section of the restaurant is beautifully decorated, families are catered for in another part and there is a busy bar area. Worth a visit.

Food was a bit average - chowder was tasty but not enough "bits", pork belly was well cooked but the crackling was chewy and I couldn't cut it with a knife, creme brulee wasn't set properly but had good flavour. So overall "OK". Not worth the $100 per head considering.

The best coffee in Takanini. Lovely people working in that place makes you really feel like you are HOME. The food is as delicious as those star restaurants in CBD. Opening hour is so cool. Proud I have GOOD HOME near my home.

Had dinner there last night and the food was exceptionally delicious and meticulously presented. There were 5 of us and it all came out simultaneously so well done to the chef and cooks. Guy behind the bar was friendly and attentive to our drinks, however, the waitress (not sure if it was due to her age or she just thought she was too good to be there) really needed some guidance on customer service and training especially in hospitality, would've got a 5 🌟 had the waitress been a bit more clued on with her job.

Very cosy, warm and relaxing atmosphere, nice food, not the fastest service with serving our food but good customer service on arrival and taking orders. We had pizzas for our teen boys and sodas, quite pricey but not bad overall. Looking forward to dine there again to try other meals for sure because the menu is mouthwatering.

Highly recommended! I hosted my 21st Birthday Party at The Good Home Takanini and the food was amazing. The staff were really accomodating especially during the planning stages. Every meal we had was delicious! Meat was cooked to perfection, curry was flavoursome and spicy, fish was moist and seasoned well and the pizza was yum yum! 10/10 recommend this place!

My husband and i came here. Beautiful set up. They were really busy and service was still pretty good. Lamb shank was great! We ordered the GOOD HOME pizza.....Y'all might need to rethink the recipe to that one guys. So disappointing. It looked amazing but turned out to be really bland. Best thing about it would have been the pizza base until it got soggy after short while. All we could taste was capsicum and soggy mushroom. We kept eating it hoping it would get better but nope. It was pretty gross. I've been here for pizza before and enjoyed it so maybe this one was just a dud. If ordering pizza, I would recommend sticking to the classic flavours. The curly fries made my night.

Our party ordered the Lamb Shank, Chowder & prawn Salad along with Fries & Bacon wrapped Scallops. Everything was excellent. Highly recommend the chowder with a nice coconut twist. Lamb Shank was huge and prawn salad was very generous. Good drink selection and nice light atmosphere, even during the day. Helpful staff & service was excellent. Food was a little slow to come bit worth the wait. Definitely reccommend.

One of the best Seafood Chowder I ever tried. Well worth the money. Rest of the food was great as well and in large portion hence I highly recommend to share the plates in order to have a variety of food. Kid's meal are affordable (meal, drinks, dessert).

Great food experience, food was exceptional and served hot, nice large portions and very nice touches with the presentation of differrent food dishes. We had a large group of 20 plus people, I find most restaurants or bar and grills struggle with serving food hot or timely when there is a larger group, but no problems here. The service was professional and friendly from the wait staff, the venue was clean, comfortable, and open plan but also private as our family group used the side area just off th Chefs kitchen. I always look for the cheapest meals for an adult first, $20 entree, $40 mains $20 dessert. Drinks standard prices. A little pricey, but well worth it. I highly recommend eating in here or just a few drinks with great bar food if your in the area, you will not regret paying the bill.

I come here basically once a week and these guys are absolutely amazing! No matter how busy or quiet they are I always get the same flawless service and the food always blows my mind. Tonight I decided to give the chicken tagliatelle pasta a go and my boyfriend had the ribs. A M A Z I N G. Amazing food, friendly staff as I visited there thrice and I had the same server but don't know the name unfortunately but I managed to get those, that's TANNER n MANAN, were the two servers whom I came across. Only reason they lost a star was because of the GUINNESS. IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE A DARK STOUT BUT THIS ONE HAD BUBBLES IN IT. NOT SURE WHAT THE REASON WAS, MAY BE THE NITROGEN LEVELS BUT IT WASNT HOW IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE. I am so sure of that is because I love GUINNESS and have been having it for more than 10 years now. The bubbles were on all days I observed. Again, great food as I ordered dumplings, fish n chips but pan fried as other one was way too greasy. Crispy fried chicken went well with the bubbly GUINNESS. An Amazing service I must say. Will recommend if the GUINNESS gets fixed from bubbly to still.

Great place for a drink or meal, on Gt South Road a short drive from the southern motorway. There’s an outdoor area for sunny weather and the indoor bar has a pleasant atmosphere. A wide variety of lunch and dinner items and the starters are big enough for lunch. Decor is fresh and clean. Staff always friendly and efficient.

Had lunch here this week with my partner. Nice atmosphere with a lot of work and thought gone into the decor. We ordered the chicken sandwich and pulled pork sandwich, both came with salad and fries. Flavour was great very tasty, pork was rich maybe a little salty. The side salad was my favourite! Coffee was delicious too. The portions are huge and the price is reflected in this. Maybe if portions were a little smaller then prices could come down too. Will definitely return soon to try something else.

Family meal out with my Grandparents and Mum. A loud atmosphere not only the people but the music too kinda had to yell. The staff was kinda and patient. We all had starters and I had the Salmon Bruschetta. I would not recommend this $18? Dish. The bread was way to hard and it was literally just salmon and cappers 👎 I ordered the pork belly but was advised that there was no kumara mash so opted for steak, eggs and chips with i think garlic butter sauce. It was delicious! Honestly made up for tthe starter.

My family and I love this restaurant. We have been here a few times for many of our family events (birthdays etc). To me, this is one of the best family restaurants in Auckland. From the beautiful new interior, children's play area to the great service and food. Came here for drinks after work and it was lovely. Great open plan with an outdoor section. Not much parking but you can park in the dulux carpark next door outside of their business hours. We were there at about 5pm and ordered food which arrived within 10 minutes of ordering. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

We went to The Good Home, after being turned down at The Blacksmith by the day manager who wouldn't let us use one of the booths in the off chance a large group would come in, in the middle of the afternoon. Thank goodness that unfortunate event happened because we had an amazing experience at The Good Home. We got seated in one of their booths immediately (they read our mind!). A very nice waiter even made an iced tea for me even though it wasn't on their beverage menu. The food is really good, and the portions are generous. We will be back to check the dinner menu very soon!

The menu is limited, and a bit high priced compared to a near by competitor. I was happy with the serving staff and food was good. I had the Fish and chips, the fish was very fresh and the chips were huge, I couldn't eat them all. My Affogato dessert was the star, delicious, and I had to share. My husband and our friends also enjoyed their meals. My big negative is the seating, very high tables and extremely uncomfortable chairs, I don't think they want patrons to stay too long. I will return, but not my first choice.

Came here Friday night with my work team. What a great atmosphere and good kai! Meals are large and well priced, and the kai was flying out the kitchen really quickly - especially given how packed it was. Personally i didnt think much of the buffalo wings, i expect them to come covered all over in buffalo sauce but these were lightly drizzled. Our waitresses have been awesome. I love hearing our te reo pronounced correctly :). Please keep encouraging that. Last weekend my nieces from Melbourne visited. The salad had tonnes of salad dressing on. The duck fat potatoes on the menu are a no go as it tasted bland.
