Love this place! I go there to grab some sushi for lunch a few times a week. Great quality, fresh and affordable. Service is always amazing! Highly recommend! They even offer 20% off sushi after 2.30 pm.

Very welcoming stuff I love their service and the food is always fresh and delicious. After 3pm they run 20% off for the sushi menu 😍

Love going there, now easily the very best Japanese food restaurant I have been to in Auckland & we have been to a few. It's one of those gems that make you want to return ,work your way through the menu & try new things. service , price & portion size are great, you will Not leave hungry or disappointed .

Great food nice environment but a little expensive, highly recommend the prawn pancake.

Great plum wine, yummy food. I guess that staff is nice: not much emotions spilled by their Asian waiters... Would be even better having cushions on the rock-hard chairs, and playing some nice japanese tunes.

When you look at the price for two people at a cafe, coffee, cold drink, & a meal, being between $50 - $70, then this place is well on track for value for money. 3rd or 4th time here, ordered 3 entrees, 2 wines, 2 fizzys, 3 mains, $66 for the whole lot, and not small portions. Price is ‘very’ good for what you are getting. Lovely hard working staff, always running around keeping on top of everything. Food is top notch for a small north shore outlet I wouldn’t have expected inner city nighttime restaurant standards in the first place. Perfect place for an an alternative lunch to all the regurgitated generic meals across the cafe industry. Awesome atmosphere, comfortable, welcoming. Food comes out promptly & is hot. Didn’t notice a toilet, but there is plenty of parking. Easy access for accessible needs. Definitely worth changing up lunch & coming here. Have not tried it for dinners. Cheers, see you again.

Lovely meals at a Tokyo restaurant. Very fresh salmon sashimi and a bento box. Kids friendly and the meals are always a high standard with fresh ingredients. It is very clean. Highly recommend Tokyo for a lovely lunch and dinner out.

The best Japanese cuisine we have ever had. Beautiful food, great atmosphere, we had a little wait but they accommodated us with extra food. Friendly staff. Reasonably priced too. Will we definitely be back!

Food superb as usual. Disappointing wait staff, impersonal, didn't clear table, waited too long so didn't order dessert.

I prefer a cold beer here to the nearby bar. Draft comes in thick pre-frozen glass that ice forms as you drink it. Sushi and sashimi also good. I would eat here more often if used spring onions (scallions) noticeably missing. BYO is OK which is important.

This place is my favourite Japanese place, but I would really love it if they bothered to offer more at dinner, especially their ramen. Their ramen is better quality than browns bay, I don't understand why they would just offer it at lunch. Please fix this Tokyo! You are missing a large group of people who love ramen. You could get more customers if you realised this and did something about it. Most people aren't in the area at lunchtime. Please fix this! Amazing food but needs to do a bit more for their customers to really exceed and be popular :) Also do uber eats. Uber eats, and ramen. Thanks

We go here sporadically and always have a nice meal. The beef tataki is far too large and indelicate. The sashimi is always lovely though. The service is always super fast and friendly.

Had lunch here today with my husband food absolutely outstanding staff delightful AAA+ as I read another review before coming here just be careful where you park those wicked people from Amalgamated Parking monitor the Carpark but I did point to my car and double checked with the lovely young lady at Tokyo and she said yes that park is OK We will be back for sure

Had a lovely meal, we've been going to this restaurant for years, with the food being consistently good - delicious!

Nice little place, my squid appetiser was extremely small and a bit tasteless but the main beef tataki was good, albeit a bit overpriced for what you get.

Great food especially the dinner box.

Love this place! Sapporo's are icey cold, the Donburi is tasty.

Great food, clean and consistent service. We are regulars and the staff treat our toddler to an ice cream..a nice touch!

Love this restaurant but be careful where you park! This group of shops have employed someone to clamp vehicles not parked in correct parks. Makes you not want to go back!
