I love it here. It has everything you need - pizza and cocktails!!! The service is amazing, the staff are so friendly and fun. The location is great and easy to get to by train. Highly recommend the desserts and the artichoke dips for the crusts.

Yummy! I got the Number 1 (margherita, I believe) with extra cheese and it was very tasty. I enjoyed the base in particular as it was super chewy and well cooked. Recommend for a good pizza in the Kingsland area ✨

Very nice place. Popular for dinner. They also do takeaways. Had two pizzas with them they all have this nice wood fire taste and accommodate for vegans and vegetarians. Worth the price. Go for it!

Ordered the 99 and the 5. Really enjoyed the truffle oil on the 99. Dough was really good, i think I might prefer different combinations of toppings though

Delicious! Bases were a great texture- pillowy, light and fantastically chewy. Had the artichoke dip for the crust and it was flavourful and the perfect accompaniment. Toppings were perfectly balanced flavour and quantity wise. Lasagna had all the delicious things you want in one- crispy, cheesy top with silky pasta and tangy tomato, but was still lovely and light. Service was great!

Fantastic pizza, and great cocktail place also. Menu is relatively small for drinks but the Ukrainian behind the bar was happy to talk us through other options and go off menu.

Superb piizzas. We enjoyed 3 delicious varieties 3, 5 and a gluten free 99 because we had a celiac guest. The bases were extraordinary, perfectly soft like the illustrations, totally unlike most franchise pizzas. The toppings were generous and flavoursome. Highly recommended.

Walking through the door you're greeted by the friendly staff at the front making pizzas and cooking them in a huge wood fired oven. It's not just pizza, there is an adjoining bar with craft beers on tap and top notch spirits. Pizzas are just numbered because of they're not your usual toppings. It makes for a hard choice because they all sound fantastic. And they taste just as good as they sound - absolutely delicious and made with quality ingredients.

I mean, it’s good. But kinda at the level Sal’s or something is. I wouldn’t go out of my way to recommend Umu but it is genuinely tasty pizza... maybe a bit pricey for what it is.

Cute little place, very Instagram looking (which, tbh, didn't inspired me confidence at first) but with AMAZING PIZZAS, for a very good price! They have a short menu, and everything is fresh and of quality. They also have a very decent selection of whiskeys from around the world for the ones into that. This place immediately became my number one place for good Italian style pizza!

Very nice pizza. However my pet peeve with pizzas is burnt pizza bases. Burnt food is carcinogenic and just nasty. Probably they could solve this problem by cleaning the pizza oven.

A place to go when you want REALLY REALLY GOOD wood-oven baked pizza! The pizzas are delicious--I love that they always have different items on their menu! Their adjacent bar is incredibly warm and friendly. I've had the immense fortune of meeting Simon--great guy, who really values his customers and is there to make genuinely good pizza. It's really nice to put a face on a local business.

Amazing! The base is perfect Neapolitan style. Nice and puffy and chewy but thin in the middle. Excellent work. Great bartender and lovely staff. Glad they have hard sparkling available too

Absolutely amazing pizza & service. We were celebrating my partner's birthday over the weekend and were blown away. The owner and staff made him feel special and really exceeded all expectations. We've come a few times before and every time the pizza & service has been fantastic. Can't wait for our next visit :)

Great pizza, number 5 and 6 are a must! Fun busy atmosphere and a nice selection of cocktails. Not a huge space so I recommend making a booking if you want to eat in. Luckily they do takeaways too and the timings provided over the phone or online are very accurate.

A new favourite of ours! This is really well done pizza and beer. Nice casual atmosphere, there is a restaurant side and a smaller bar side. Their pizza's as far as I know are unique in Auckland for being woodfired sourdough. The woodfire cooking technique is authentic. I was slightly skeptical of a sourdough pizza but it works really well. I highly recommend Umu.

This is a pizza I am still thinking about 2 days later. It was really, REALLY good. Familiar Italian ingredients, but not your standard Italian menu. We got the "number 8" with portobello mushrooms, porchetta and pecorino and it was absolutely glorious. Pizza's were priced fairly, it was just the price of the drinks that left me a bit shocked - my $12 chardonnay felt like two sips worth haha. I'll go for a beer next time! Really friendly and accommodating staff too. Can't wait to come back to try the other pizzas on the menu.

My husband and I went to Umu Restaurant last night to celebrate our wedding anniversary, what a fantastic choice of restaurant to celebrate a special occasion. The food was superb and we loved every mouthful, what made the occasion even more memorable was the service, William you were professional, friendly and very accommodating, thank you. We felt we could have been sitting in a lovely restaurant in the city. On another note, we loved the decor, in particular the prints.
