Food is great. Handmade dumplings. Great selection of ingredients for hot pot buffet. It’s really great for small group as only small pot so easy to overflow so if in ur group like spicy n some don’t would be problem. Lol.

We love Vietnam Gourmet. Steamboat is so awesome, so many great options to eat. Its great how everything is included for the one price. Im sure ordering off the menu is good, but we always opt for steamboat.

Good price for decent Vietnamese food. It's not amazing but if you're craving for some Vietnamese food you won't be disappointed. The mains are decently priced with good portions. If you're out with some friend, they have an eat-all-you-can steam boat option too. Would recommend this restaurant if you're in the Papatoetoe area and fancying some Vietnamese cuisine for dinner or quick takeaway lunch for work.

Food was brought out very quickly. Service was nice. Food was delicious. Vietnamese coffee was not as strong as back in Vietnam and ice was too thick but that's normal for NZ. I would go back again. But not for the coffee. Lol

Lovely food, great service. Ive been eat their food for the past 29 years. Followed them to three different venues. Adore them and wish them the best for the future. I can not wait till lockdown finished. Miss my favourite soup.. pork chop with egg noodles. Best VN food in the whole of nz.

Beef noodle soup is okay, but wouldn't recommend spring roll. It feels strange that when we dining in, staff didn't checked/scanned our covid vaccine pass.

Favourite Vietnamese place to eat in Papatoetoe The food is always fresh, hot (or cold when it needs to be) and really delicious. Their pricing is affordable. They have an amazing hot pot smorgasbord, which I have yet to try but am looking forward to. This is my Friday go to, the staff are kind and remember us, probably because we go there too much.

Best steamboat. Love the ready made hot food and the variety of vegetables, raw meats , seafood and meatballs. So many different dipping sauces to choose from. Unlimited variety of fizzy, juice and tea selection, ice cream flavours. Adult price for dinner $32

The price for the food you receive in the buffet is worth it. Go on n empry stomach. You can order your own drinks if you dnt like the variety or cups they have for the drinks. The sauces stand could be placed away jst so there is more room. Besides from that the service is prompt and the buffet is too... Good. Nevwr dissapoints. Thank you team.

Great value for money! We had a group of 20 adults. Ordered 4 x 2 entrees and 4 x 2 mains. Cost us $20 per person. And we had leftovers. Plus the food was delicious 😋

Amazing delicious, cheap and authentic food and flavours. The service is fast and people are lovely. The place could do with some upgrades but who really cares... we're there for the food!!!! The all you can eat buffet is also impressive and the place is popular and packed so best to get there early or book a table!!

Buffet style steamboat is the best way to go if you're looking to get the most food for your money. Fairly high number of tables so you'll always find a seat.

Our favourite place for Vietnamese (and have been here quite a bit too). Food is full of flavour. My favourite is the Bún Bò Huế and lemongrass chicken - so good. They also do buffet steamboat.

Good food and totally worth the price. The lady that took our order was so lovely. The atmosphere was very homey as there were heaps of families there. We ordered from the a la carte menu and we were pleasantly surprised by how good it was. Decor was a bit old but hey when you enjoy your food, you don't really care about the decor 😄Will definitely visit again soon 😊

Not a bad place to eat if you enjoy hot pot. There are other food options if you choose to eat other than hot pot. My wife enjoys this place though so 5 stars.

Good selection of hot dishes and some cold dishes. Great selection of meats, seafood, and vegetables to cook your own pho right on your table. A few good desserts. Buffet is $28 per adult and $1.80 per year of age for under 12s. A la carte menu is very reasonably priced. Ca phe (iced coffee) was not very full at all and mostly ice, but had a great flavour

We went here for an Ala Carte dinner. We were quite full so we can’t do buffet. But the buffet looks so good even though there’s not much choices. Their customers look very happy having their hot pots! For dinner, I had Vermicelli Salad and my husband got a pork meal which I forgot the name. Anyway, we like our dinner and will definitely come back to try their buffet & hot pot.

The dishes are large so good value. This time none of the dishes were over seasoned so we could add extra salt to our own liking. We liked this. Will have to see if it is the same next time.

Very decent Vietnamese/Chinese restaurant. It is theonly Vietnamese restaurant that I have been to in NZ that uses proper fresh rice noodles in its pho. The food is good and the iced coffee is magnificent. The restaurant also has a buffet option which is well priced.

Great place for casual meal or social gathering. The vietnam food here is authentic and delicious. The pho soup and spring rolls are the best ive tried in nz. Good range of fresh food and condiment for the hot pot buffet. Enviroment is clean with really friendly and helpful staffs.

Authentic Vietnamese Street food for Ala Carte menu, the price is veey reasonable! Or you can have a seafood hot pot buffer chinese style for $28/adult. Just bear in mind, they're CLOSED for HOLIDAY until 05 February 2020. So cancel your plan to avoid disappointment!

Favorite Vietnamese restaurant ever! Everything on the menu is amazing even though I have the same thing every time. Shredded chicken noodle soup is hands down the best.

All you can eat buffet or order from the menu. Ok lets be frank, if you want a 5 star fine dining experience where you get served with your food on silver platters then you are at the wrong place. This is home touch, homely feel, super family friendly, and all kinds of human are welcome to eat here. Wether you are a big eater small eater weird eater crazy eater you can be yourself here. We absolutely love this place, despite the fact it is Otara and the building is not the flashest, but if you want to be yourself, get comfortable and just relax then try this place out, very affordable, BYO option with no surcharge on your BYO, homely touch of mamas soups with a bit of everything from fried to savoury to sweet to amazingly done soup broth they make hours before they open, then this is a great place to take your family to. You can eat your prawns with your hands, cook your own meal wether you want a soup pot or a grill plate for a bbq as you get your own small gas oven to cook your meal at your table. Plenty of selections from poultry meat to heaps of different seafood selections to different dumplings to a selected variety of fish cakes, fish balls, fried and normal tofus, plenty of asion mushrooms that will soak up the soup that hust melts in your mouth and heaps of different types of greens to chose from. The meats are your norm beef to pork to chicken to salmon. Fried chicken wings, nuggets for kids, fries, spring rolls, battered fish, chicken curry. There's cooked rice and fried rice, cooked prawns or raw and lots of different cooked foods of your fav home comfort food. There's also deserts and different kinds of sauces, we normally bring our own hot sauce and the kids cones. Good place to practice your chopsticks skills. My husband is hald Chinese but does not understand the language nor could use chopsticks so he just sticks to the fork and knife for now but we love to use the chopsticks with the kids, its fun for them. My kids absolutely love the fish balls, they dont eat any seafood also very picky but they go for gold on the fish balls. The think its smorfs mash mallow on a stick lol but it works. So if you want to let lose for once and feel right at home this is the place to go. We normal just wear jeans casual sheos and tees. We are half white ourselves that dont really eat seafood but we love it here we go at least twice a month or sometimes twice a week. It just feels like home. Give it a try but go with an open mind and dont judge the book by its cover, its truly a great place to eat. Trust me we love our fancy restaurants but this tops it for us because its more comfy. Delicious!! If you likebuffet style and making your own sauces to compliment your meal then this is the place.. Me and my family have been going for over 10 years and we always make time to have dinner there when we are in auckland. They also have a A rating... Wel worth the $23.. although when we starrted going it was 14.95.. They have extended on the variety of food available.. hot.. cold.... dessert.... all you can drink fizzy drink.... the secret is to make sure your sauce is exactly the flavour you want and the rest is the best...

Everything I ate last night was so yummy, the staff were friendly and willing to help, I gave 4 stars because I found it about hard to identify what the foods were but in saying that I WILL BE GOING BACK because that's how good it was. And I'm sure my dear 3 friends agree

My favorite place to eat WON TON NOODLE SOUP. Sadly their pricing has gone up slightly, but that is due to the economy. Other than that I strongly prefer this place over Try it Out Otahuhu.

The smorgasbord steam boat is nice. Pack most of the time we were there, service good, food is good, parking good.
