The staff at Vivace are amazing and there is a whole vegan menu which is great. The attention to detail from the staff was incredible. My dining partner ordered me a drink without me knowing it had Prosecco and the waiter came back before making it to advise me the Prosecco wasn’t vegan. I was extremely appreciative. The vegan risotto was quite nice, not spectacular but it was good. The cocktails and the staff were the best part about this place

This was my first time back at Vivace in years (since they moved down to Fort Street). The restaurant space is quite small but there's a separate bar and a nice outdoor space. The menu was pretty extensive and quite meat-heavy but that wasn't a problem for us. We got three entrées and three mains to share and everything met or exceeded expectations. Portions were generous and service was efficient.

Vivace Restaurant are the best - Mandy and Gene from Vivace hosted my car club wine tasting event on Friday night for 15 people. The people, the staff did an amazing job - The food was impressive and the risotto was to die for as was the wine list. Everyone had a great time and everything was perfect. We used the back room to host our event and the guys even set up all the tables for us. I cant thank the guys enough and look forward to dining there again soon. Totally recommend anyone looking to hold a function to use the team at Vivace - Antonio Monteleone

Absolutely brilliant...The food here is amazing....it's a must-go-to restaurant..and the service is second to none....I would definitely rank this restaurant as one of the best in Auckland!!!

Service was good, with the exception of a difficulty splitting a pizza into a number divisible by 3 for 3 people and processing the splitting of the bill for the pizza. Food was well-made, but tasted more like fusion food rather than authentic Italian food. Environment was good. Will be open to coming back again

I love their drinks collection, delicious appetizers and lovely ambience. The best part has their hospitality. I have to give a special mention to Anuj for being extremely courteous with a warm yet fun smile. I will definitely go back!

Went here for a nice dinner and was not disappointed. Food were of satisfying portions. The fried squid and fried mushrooms entrees are great. Recommend the gnocchi for pasta. Pizza had the perfect base. My choice of dessert was the dark choc, peanut tart which was rich and delicious. Service staff were great, despite it being a busy night. Overall, highly recommended.

Good food and great atmosphere. Everything was delicious and well presented and the service was very good to. The slow cooked beef cheeks on risotto (special) doesn't look appetising in the photos, but was probably the most delicious of the lot!

Amazing front of house staff, proactive, my glass was always full, great banter, I enjoyed myself. Ate mostly the tapas, food was great, my fav was the kahawai. Thanks guys, we will be back :)

I’m search of dessert, I discovered the relocated Vivace in Fort Street. Of course, I was compelled to visit. The staff remained as excellent as I recalled from their High Street days. Interior wise, I loved the rustic charm of the wine and champagne laden wall crates meeting floor with ceiling and showcasing how serious this restaurant is with pleasing wine lovers. My dessert of choice was the black Doris plum and pecan pudding nestled in vanilla custard and jus served with thickened cream. I also ordered a soy latte before long bring beckoned the wine list. The intention to just dabble by having a glass of red evolved into enjoying gorgeous glasses of Lealtanza Reserve Tempranillo, Fiorini Cianti Superiore, Papa Luna GSM and Domaine de Charbonierre Grenache Syrah. This led to trying small dishes of fig mozzarella and honeycomb then smoked kahawai dip with sourdough bread to wash down the goodness. Excellent service, ambience, food and wine was experience so much so that I’ll be back again very soon!

It is quite a nice place that is located in the upper levels on High Street. When you go up the stairs you end up in a large open loft with plenty of dining space and private rooms. We were greeted at the stairs and led to a table out in the balcony. Even though it was winter it wasn't very cold. I thought they specialised in Italian food but the menu was a mix of everything. Ended up ordering the duck risotto and the lamb tagliatelle. The risotto was nice and flavourful, with the shallots giving it texture and taste. The lamb was a bit too tomatoey for my liking and the lamb was more mince than ragu. The flavours were nice though. Good service and the food was nice. The place itself was also quite interesting.

Very nice place to have romantic dinner. This is not another fancy restaurant, but rather very good ordinary place. Food is delicious, hot starter are great way to star dinner. Portions are not huge, so you'll have room for dessert :)

Food was of good standard but nothing fancy, we were left waiting at the table throughout the reservation. Service could improve.

We went for the set menu for Auckland Restaurant month, the snapper was extremely good, the scallops were tasty but the lamb empinada was the hero for sure (don't get me started on the mushroom risotto - me and mushrooms will never be friends but that's hardly Vivace's fault!). I feel as though if we had been ordering from the a la carte menu and just been a normal group, that perhaps our experience would have been different, but I couldn't help commenting on the inconsistency of the food brought out between plates, the pours from accompanying wines were a bit erractic and we were sort of left feeling like the 'gosh when will they hurry up leave' table. BUT, it was a great deal that we got and I'd definitely still go again so all around I'm still a happy camper ✌️

Same superb service, menu, wine list and ambience that's been their signature over the years. You won't be disappointed because everyone's hand and heart is there to give you the best dining experience.

Occupying the former haunt of Beirut, this was a great place to come for an Italian meal, where we were tucked away into a cosy little corner of the courtyard and treated to some good times and good vibes over a good meal.

Beautiful food so well presented and we were at a large table with ten of us. The staff really looked after us and made our visit such a nice experience. The owner of the restaurant was on duty and was friendly and helpful. We has three courses , each delicious. Vegetables beautifully prepared and presented. Good selection of wine and beers and either sparkling or plain water glasses always filled. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a great night out. Thanks to all the Vivace staff and owner for making this the best dining experience and evening.

It was a long time since I had a meal in central Auckland but on Friday 4 May I went to this restaurant with a party of 8. We arrived at 7.30 pm and the drinks orders were taken in 10 minutes and the main was served in about half an hour. I had the chicken wrapped in bacon which was superb. A large portion costing $34. The tapas were good value also. Only one complaint: The dining chairs were made out of steel and were very heavy and uncomfortable. However if you bring a cushion you will be OK. I would recommend this restaurant for superb meals and a top class waiting service.

Good ambience. Lamb salad was good however duck risotto was salty. Apple crumble dessert is good too.

I’ve been a regular at Vivace for over 10 years. They’ve basically been our extended family in the city. Always friendly & fun. Can’t get enough of their delicious tapas, mains & yummy wine list. Whether you’re looking for a drink after work, romantic dinner or team gathering - Vivace will take great care of you. An institution! 💛

It was 2 of us at lunch time. We paid $60 something for a chicken pizza and venison w/mushroom to share, plus 2 mocktails and a longblack. Food was good, especially the venison. Pizza could be better and the mocktails too sweet for me. The place is beautiful, warm and service was on point.

Went for old time's sake before Vivace were to move into new premises. Food and service were spot on as usual. Exceptional place for family dinner.

We nearly missed this excellent restaurant. It was tucked away at 85 Fort Street not far from the Auckland waterfront. Luckily it was a quiet night and we were able to get a comfortable table. The food was superb, presentation excellent, service helpful and well informed about both the food and wines. During our stay in Auckland, we returned for another visit there and found the restaurant as consistent as our earlier visit. It was surprisingly not busy but hopefully word will spread.

Came here with my boyfriend for his birthday on the night of 30.01.2021. Googled "romantic places to eat in auckland" and found this place. The food was freaking delicious!! And the drinks were strong. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would definetly come back again. Oh, and it was very romantic too

Fantastic food and great staff. We had a celebration work lunch and it could not have been a better spot. Highly recommended if you are looking for a highly enjoyable place to eat great food.

We were seated immediately at the table of our choice without prior reservations. Server was quite friendly and took extra time to help us make our food and drink selections. For our party of four, we decided on one pizza, three tapas and the grilled vegetables plus some wine and beer. They let us split the pizza toppings, half and half, so we could try two different flavors. The food was excellently prepared and presented. Serving sizes were smaller than average as expected for tapas but full of flavor. We finished all the food initially ordered and decided on a second pizza to fill us up. All in all a great experience. Definitely recommend you try this restaurant.

Visited from Sydney for the weekend and a few people recommended.. Without a reservation on a Saturday, the host was hospitable and we were seated promptly with wine thereafter. Food was second-to-none, staff were knowledgeable of menu and environment was vibrant. Thank you Lawrence for being a phenomenal host and making this our favourite dining experience in Auckland. If we’re back, we’ll be back!

Possibly the best service I have received at a restaurant. The waiter was on to it and managed our table of 12 with ease. Not once did we have to call for him. Our meals were all delicious and came at the same time, something that most restaurants find hard to do. The atmosphere was relaxed with enough lighting that we could see everything without it being too bright. Dark restaurants make it hard to enjoy anything. One of the more refreshing aspects was that the menu wasn't obscenely long. There was enough selection for different eaters without overwhelming you with choices. Quality over quantity.

Food was wonderful as always and good service too. I had pork belly, it was delicious as was the accompanying asparagus. Nice premises and easy parking nearby, but I do miss the old High st location which was amazing.

We had our small wedding reception lunch at Vivace and it was amazing! Mandy at Vivace helped us plan our event and was very helpful, generous and patient. We arrived a little early but they graciously found our group a table to have some drinks. The service was top notch - efficient, friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The food was excellent, everyone greatly enjoyed their meals. I had the eye fillet and it was perfectly done. Vivace even took delivery of our wedding cake from the baker and brought it out at the right moment. Thank you to everyone at Vivace for helping make our special day so special! We highly recommend Vivace and will definitely be back!

We took a chance that there'd be room and were lucky. Even on a mid-week night the atmosphere was best described as buzzing. Wonderful greeting at the door and very friendly staff throughout the evening. Best of all, the food was excellent and plentiful. Couldn't manage a dessert. If we were staying longer in Auckland we would back tomorrow and the next night. Don't miss this gem of a restaurant.

The dish I had (in the picture) was quite bland and had little taste... Forgot to take a picture but they make great pizza!

The food here is very fine, if you like fancy dining then look no further! Everything here tasted great, and the staff was very kind and helpful in giving information about each of the dishes. I had a lamb dish that was cooked spectacularly here, and would definitely order it again. The drawback for this place is the price, although since they can't help that I would be rating this 5/5 stars.

Delicious pasta and some great cocktails. Prices are reasonable for what you get. I'd say the portion sizes are pretty close to perfect. Some italian places nearby give you very little but this was spot on. Will be coming back.

Incredible food for a reasonable price! They have a list of fun, interesting cocktails and the restaurant has a close, intimate atmosphere. Tucked away from a lot of the city noise. Fantastic staff who were attentive, friendly and always helpful. I would highly recommend coming here!

A group of 6 of us dined at Vivace on Saturday evening and it was a wonderful experience. The best thing that I feel is worth commending the restaurant on was the outstanding service that our waiter offered us. He was so friendly and attentive and he never let anyone's glass go empty (bonus!) My husband commented to me that it was the best service we have experienced after nearly 2 years of living in New Zealand. My only regret is that we didn't catch his name! The food was hot, fresh and delicious and the portions were a perfect size. We will definitely be back!

Had a lovely meal for my birthday - sharing several plates of tapas with 4 people. Chicken liver parfait was to die for, and the sticky pork ribs were awesome. Make sure you get plenty of the duck fat potatoes so you can mop up the sauces in all the other dishes! Good wine list as well, and very knowledgable and friendly waiters to help you match wine with the food. Perfect night out, and very reasonably priced.

Vivace is a little gem tucked away in Fort Street away from the frenetic waterfront. Great place to get the afternoon rays on the outside tables. Lovely staff and ambience. Good tapas style food - the ceviche was a favourite. Definitely coming back.

Got to say I was hoping to go to Cotto last night but due to being closed we googled some other Italians. So glad we did. Food and service were both exceptional. Got to try new things and for me the pork ribs were the standout. Couldn't fault anything, very impressed. See you guys again soon.

Vivace is one of the few places I know that consistently has great service, great food and a great atmosphere in the past 20 plus years I've been going there. Tapas are delish and you'd be surprised how quickly you fill up. It's not too uptight but its not super casual either. Well presented people enjoying themselves without becoming annoying. I consider the food good value for money, they have a great wine list and bartenders who make a mean Dark and Stormy.

Me and my fiance visited Auckland and came across this restaurant as it was located near our hotel and positioned right in the city. Hands down was the best Service we received in all of Auckland. Our waiter was so attentive and the food was amazing with such a warm atmosphere. Food choice was over whelming, wished we came here first rather then our last night. Highly recommended.

I would like to start from the time that I made a booking. Mandy helped me out to have a table for my birthday and they even called a day before to confirm it. During our stay here everyone was so lovely especially GWEN who took care of us. She was so nice from the very beginning and even helped me out with the portion of the food serving. She's so honest and accurate advising me on what to get. The food was so good too! We ordered 4 different types of pizza and each of them has a distinct flavours not like other placss where all pizza just taste the same, the calamari is soooooo good too! Our favorite actually. We also had some empanadas, onion rings and cheese platter. It's 5/5! You guys are superstar. I'm glad that I celebrated my birthday here. It's been memorable because of your help. More power!

Large group booking last night. Resturant staff were so attentive and very accommodating to our large group even when we made last minute changes. Food was lovely. Went above and beyond to accomodate us and make our evening special including making a special dessert tart for us to use as a birthday cake. I can not recommend this Resturant enough they are amazing in every way and we will be back!

Great food, friendly knowledgeable staff. Space for large rowdy groups and also intimate tables for a couple. Some outdoor tables.. but a bit blustery for that the night we were there.

Pretty good, had the black spaghetti with prawns from the set menu - was expecting a number of big juucy prawns but when it turned up it was more like it had small shrimp.. still nice but cant give 5/5 for this.

I was part of a large group. The service was exceptional. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. I ordered the Gnnochi, which was lovely but I was a little bit disappointed that I only had about 5 pieces of the Gnnochi in my sauce. As lovely as it was I would've loved a few more. The Duck Fat Potatoes were sooooo good. Crunchy goodness in a bowl. I won't hesitate going back as the overall experience was great.

Excellent meal and venue. Liver parfait was a generous portion, delicious. Eye Fillet tender and well cooked.

We had a wonderful experience, the hustle and bustle of the city passing early on a Friday evening, in a rustic setting with great service and ultimately lovely tapas. Impressively, their cheapest red was a lovely 2016 Rioja which paired will with our choices.

As others have said this place is good if you are in a group. If you can book ahead they have a number of private rooms which can be booked we where is a room with a massive table easily seated the 14 of us there for a significant birthday party. i couldn't select just one thing from the main menu as there where so many i wanted, so i went with about 6 entrees and had a wonderful meal paying the bill individually was handled without a fuss which is important with a large group

We went here last night to celebrate our wedding anniversary. What an amazing experience! The service is literally above and beyond, like even coming to get us from the car park cause we were lost lol. Aaron Maihi you and your team deliver on excellence. The food was delicious! We will definitely spread the word and be back my friend!

Recently found this place. Is one of my top favourite restaurants. Cute location. Has a view. Function and big group room are stunning. Always busy. Booking ahead would be recommended. Great for just drinks or tapas or big meals. Has a gluten free menu. Have had no problems with allergy signs or symptoms. The owner has experienced celiac disease in their family so they are extremely respectful. Staff are so kind and lovely. Good service. Food comes out quickly. Favorite tapas in central Auckland. Pizza and pasta is like a taste from Italy. Brilliant flavors. A mix of Morden and traditional. A mix of Mediterranean and Italian. 100 percent recommend.

I had a birthday event at Vivace on the 25th of May and I was so impressed with the food and the service! I had a group of about 25-30 people and I didn't think that any restaurant would be able to accommodate them, but Vivace did! Thank you so much 😊

The food is amazing and the service is great ,the selection of gins in the bar is incredible. The unlit black sign.on a black background 6 metres off the ground not so great when you are trying to find the place. They are moving to fort street soon.

Awesome setting and food..love it..great beer range

This place is so great. It's dark and sexy. It has a covered outdoor area to smoke and drink. The tapas are bomb. The mains are excellent. And it is really reasonably priced. Definitely a locals joint that tourists need to know about.

It looks like a fancy place. Has a fireplace in the middle of the room which makes the dinning space cozy and nice for a good dinner. Food was delicious and staff were very friendly and courteous. Always checking if we needed anything else.

Great service, great food and great people - always worth a visit!

Nice location. Central city, but you wouldn't know it. Balcony views of the bustling city without the noise. Well trained professional staff. Tasty food. It has separate, private, dining 'halls' fit for a king; wine barrels and open rafters. Open plan main interior if your prefer socialising. Also has a private outdoor smoking area with heating if you prefer not to stand on the street.

A restaurant full of hard surfaces meant it was difficult to hear the person sitting next to me let alone anyone else in the group. I asked for the steak to be medium rare, it was rare and not warm all the way through (seared on the outside, nothing cooked internally). The accompaniments to the meal were good.

Excellent service, great food. Handy parking next door at Victoria Street Carpark. Dinner service starts at 6pm so we sat at our table and ordered tapas and a bottle of wine. Restaurant was buzzing with people - and they have heaters if you sit out on the patio.

A good place to go with a group. Meal and drinks were okay but the black spaghetti was a little bland, the prawns didn't seem to have picked up the flavour of the chilli and capers.

Everything was just right about this place for a date night: feeling refined yet casual; friendly staff; and delicious food. The price is very on point for what you get. The smoked Kahawai and ciabatta, and kumara gnocchi will have us coming back for sure.

Love this spot, great service!

We arrived without a reservation and we were given the option to move over to the side bar area. The waitstaff was exceptional-it was nice to speak German, and receive recommendations from our waiter. A well balance wine list of New Zealand wines. We were there during Restaurant Week and I had the flight of Duck. The foie gras was so smooth and Perfect on the tapas bread. The confit of duck had the loveliest sauce and for the first time eating in Auckland, I did not have to add salt to a dish. I would recommend this venue to any foodie visiting Auckland.

I would have scored higher but my garlic bread came out more or less raw... Such a shame as everything else was fantastic but I do feel the basics let them down.

Vivache never fails to serve great tasting food, and at reasonable prices. A favourite stop if you're wanting to share tapas with friends. Raised up from High street means you don't feel like you're in the heart of the city.

To Steve the manager, Sat 14 october we went to Vivace for a family party for my wife CAROLE'S 79 th birthday. Had a private room,17 people. Had the most delicious food we have eaten in a restaurant for years. Please pass on to your chef the compliments from everyone in our party. Our Server AINE was excellent and looked after us all so well, including the 2 children. A wonderful restaurant with a fantastic atmosphere, cant wait to return again Thanks for a GREAT evening. Vivace is an Auckland CBD institution that gets food and service consistently right. Atmosphere is usually lively without being too loud. Great bar area for a more informal setting. Highly recommended

Here a few times usually for group bookings or the use of their private dining rooms. Nice layout but food is getting worse overtime. Portion size is good which makes it up.

I always enjoy this restaurant, the food is satisfying and well done. The atmosphere is relaxed but refined. You wouldn't expect such a lovely place to be hidden away on High St!

Nice food but the new environment is way to noisy to be pleasant. I couldn't hear to have a conversation with the person across the table from me. The old location was far superior.

Used to go there alot with a friend and really enjoyed the good selection of wines and great tapas but have not been back for a while due to an unpleasant experience with a rude staff member. Hopefully they have nicer staff by the time I go back there again.

I had caprese and jalapeno poppers. They were not poppers at all (which i expected as breadcrumbs -ball or oval shaped or if not, the proper mexican style jalapeno poppers since you have already used big proper sized jalapenos) . It was fried halved Jalapenos with a few melted cheese at the bottom. 🫤 In hindsight, i shouldve gone for the mains for the price i paid for. Wasnt to keen to having heavier meal.
