Overall we had a really nice night away for an anniversary celebration. We had a premium room and the room was really well presented and comfortable. The romantic option gave us bubbles and a cheese platter upon arrival which was a really nice to experience on the balcony. The pillows and bed were very comfortable. Dinner at the restaurant was nice with a good selection of options to suit preferences. The duck for mains and creme brulee for dessert were personal favourites. We had a couples massage which was nice, it was done in separate rooms which was strange for a couples massage. Overall we had a lovely time and will look to return for another relaxing time away.

A nice getaway place amidst lush green waitakere ranges. Truly a hidden gem. Very Victorian. You are surely in for relaxing weekend getaway. Enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner with great views overlooking the city and rangitoto island. Be it night or day the views are spectacular. Staff are friendly and professional. The conference room was set with a big tick on all requirements.

Really worth the adventure. The drive to get in is a worthwhile adventure & it doesn't disappoint with views of magnificent native bush & wide vista's looking eastward over Auckland City. Went for the "High Tea" excellent service and the food was really nice. This place is a must visit if you want to escape the world and enjoy the beauty around you.

Nice little place in the middle of jungle if you enjoy peace and quite this is the place and we can see all of Auckland city from here as well

What amazing views! The drive into the estate was amazing. Super friendly helpful staff! A step back in time .. the library and lounge with the big open fire was awesome.. loved my room and the view from the balcony.. had a seminar here for the weekend and looking forward to the next one.

Went to high tea here with my wife. We both loved it. Fantastic service at a very affordable price. Highly recommend. The sense of peace from looking out over the great vista with bubbly in my hand was deeply satisfying. A fantastic afternoon escape.

Great setting for a conference Super good food.

Wish I'd stayed another night to fully appreciate this hotel. Great for a staycay escape from the city.The Premier rooms were absolutely worth the bit extra. Amazing views over rainforest to city and back around to the ranges themselves. Luxuriously appointed. Lounge area delightfully old school with rich red velvet drapes, a roaring fire and chesterfields arranged for great fireside conversations, or scrabble! Brilliant rainforest views. Only 4 stars because the restaurant prices were on the steep side for the portion size although delicious. Wine was also expensive, I thought. Still, I would not hesitate to stay again or recommend.

Charm and character - perfect location for an Agatha Christie film. Wrapping along the ridge the views from our loft room were captivating and the grounds immaculate. Very happy with my room choice, good rate, very comfortable, clean. Disappointed that spa and massage weren't available (the reason I booked). We relaxed in the vibrant lounge, rediscovering retro boardgames, books and music, sipping on hot chocolate. Once the fire was lit, the grand lady came to life as guests mingled and shared stories. The fun was extinguished at 9.30pm according to house rules. The evening dinner experience was however underwhelming. Loved the decor but perhaps the adjoining room could be fine dining and the main space al a carte. Our fine dining meal missed the mark. Risotto overcooked, no flavour. Lamb loin rubbery. Croquette dry, needed jus. Vegetables bland, stir fry cut. Fries inedible. Other guests commented. After a hike we were looking for something more comforting. Thankfully the breakfast was lovely the next day. We really enjoyed our short stay and thank Duncan the hotel manager for his hospitality. Four stars.

Lovely place for dining out. Beautiful views over Auckland. Set menus is a bit limited. Check if there is an A la Cart menu . Excellent service, friendly staff. Plenty of parking. Recommend

Wonderful outlook over the city, great meal. Unfortunately other guests were very noisy and kept us awake due to lack of sound proofing. Recommend only going if no large groups are there .

Location is absolutely stunning. We were disappointed to see a staff member undermining another staff member in front of customers. Also a big mix up with our bill which was rather frustrating. Apart from that it was nice.

Awesom scenery and great location but below average customer service. If I was running that business I would have run it quite differently. If you like the scenery this a perfectvplace for you.

Had a great night . Thanks.. Dinner was great, but breakfast was less then good sauages tomatos mushrooms over cooked and should have been left off the plate .apart from that l would go back .
