Probably my favorite restaurant of all time. Amazing food, can't go wrong with anything you pick. 100% would recommend everyone to try it, you will not regret it. Have a look at the pictures if the food and you won't need convincing.

A nice, cozy little Japanese restaurant! I definitely recommend the omucurry and takoyaki, their dango is also really good! I recently tried the curry nikomi udon for the first time and it’s now my go-to, the udon noodles are so satisfying. Their meals always feel so wholesome and the service is friendly. It is a small restaurant so during lunch and dinner times it can get really full and really warm! For any new visitors: you have to go up to the counter to order.

Lovely authentic food. Atmosphere really made it seem like I was back in Japan. Customer service was as expected from a Japanese restaurant, so kind and efficient. The omu rice was mind blowing and it was the most magnificent plate iv had in a very very long time. The dango was so nice and chewy. Great food at a great price! Food was amazing and the customer service was on point too! This is a tiny little hidden gem in the CBD. Portion sizes are sufficient. I had the Chicken Katsu Bento and the chicken meat was juicy and the breading was crispy.

Holy cow this food is good. If you've heard you feel like a restaurant takes you back to Japan before, disregard it and eat here. I can't describe how good the food is, full of flavor, cooked to perfection, all the richness that you usually only get in Japan. Then there is the price, it's such good value I felt bad not paying more. Honestly, if you've been to Japan /you love Japanese food, come here. You won't regret it.

Yoshizawa deserves all the praise that comes its way. The menu has great variety - with a lot of fantastic deals on the whiteboard, from under $10 ranging till about $17. Their tarts and takoyaki are some of the most affordable and delicious in town. It's small but homely, and the staff are super friendly. Note that you order and pay at the counter - don't sit there waving your hands around like I did!

Absolutely love their omu rice! Would definitely eat here again just for their omu rice as well as their custard filled cream puffs !!

The place is a bit small but the food will make you full-packed! I ordered a large omu rice with chicken katsu topping and it's heavenly. It's really soft that you can slice everything with your spoon. If you watch anime, this is one of those great omu rices you would love.

Yoshizawa restaurant is an excellent find and one of the better Japanese restaurants in Auckland that I've tried. The staff were able to cater to my dietary requirements easily and the food I ordered was delicious, well portioned, and beautifully presented. Highly recommended.

It's a small shop that's easy to miss, but what a gem! Good food at very affordable prices. I ordered the chicken karaage don and it was very tasty. Would recommend as I think it really is better value for money than a few other places nearby. Especially good for a quick bite in the city if you're a uni student.

Beautiful little Japanese restaurant. We come here every fortnightly or so just because it's so good. We always order takoyaki to share. My partner would order the fried oyster gozen and I'd do the beef tongue gozen. All the gozen usually has green tea, salad, mashed potatoes, lettuce salad, miso soup and rice. We also recommend the fried chicken skin and crispy squid. Both are good snacks to share. Other recommendations : Chicken Karaage Don and sanma kabayaki gozen (sanma fish with thick soy sauce like you'd normally find with unagi). If you're really famished, you could try their claypot udon soups. Those are massive and taste really good too. It comes with a raw egg that you can crack into the soup or into a separate bowl to make an egg sauce. However you like it. Zomato has their main menu on their website/app but they also have a bunch of other items listed on the walls and below the cashier counter. Be sure to look out for that. Important note - you order and pay at the cashier. The space is too small for a waitress to wait around to take your order.

Nice little Japanese Restaurant near Queen St. Prices will be a little high if you are a student but the quality makes up for it. Highly recommend grabbing some dango when you visit.

Nice and cozy Japanese restaurant located in Auckland CBD. Also, this shop is one of a few Japanese restaurants owned by an actual Japanese chef from Japan. This restaurant well kept the taste, greeting service and atmosphere very authentic, and their menu is not too pricy compared to other Japanese places in Auckland central. Their chicken katsu gozen/don is a must try!! I also love だんご and シュークリーム, which has got the gently sweet flavour. I can't think of anything negative about this shop. Super recommended!!

This is my go-to Japanese place when I'm in the CBD. Great-tasting Japanese teishoku (set meals) as close to Japan as possible, a variety of staple favourites like omuriec and shogayaki, all at great prices in a central location. They even do delicacies like beef tongue, and they do it well. Go for their omurice and add some katsu to it, you won't be disappointed.

Yoshizawa was a pleasant surprise. We were walking looking for somewhere to eat dinner and we turned down this small street. To our amazement we found this restaurant. It was filled with Japanese students so we knew it must be good and priced reasonably. We were right on all accounts. This is a very small restaurant with a very complete menu of Japanese dishes. It is cramped and noisy and has no atmosphere. I really enjoyed the tempura and rice, the rest of the group ate a dumpling special. Dinner for all three of us was around $30. I am so glad we found this place.

We’ve been here soooo many times and i kept on forgetting to leave a review. This restaurant has become my favorite Japanese place in Auckland ever since a friend took us here for dinner. My favorite is their katsu gozen or “the combo meal” because it comes with miso soup, green tea, potato salad and pickled vege. My katsu pork is always tender and breaded well. This is my go to meal when i need a pick me up. My sister and mom ordered the japanese curry tonight and as always it’s just like when we were in Japan. We’ve tried the yakisoba etc previously and they are equally good. The desserts, especially the cream puffs, are also a must try. Also, there are always Japanese people eating here so i think that vouches for the authenticity.

Hands down our favourite Japanese fast food restaurant in town. It doesn't look like much but the food they make here is delicious. Best katsu I've had outside of Japan, and their gozen sets are amazing.
