M.We came here on the recommendation of a friend. We are so glad we did. By far the most outstanding restaurant we have attended in New Zealand. The service and menu were top tier and world class. As others have said this is not just a meal but an experience and one we will not soon forget. The food was light and full of flavour and encouraged me to try things I would not usually be open to. The wine list was also impressive with the staff able to competently make recommendations to suit our preferences. Superb all round and worth every penny. There was nothing I did not enjoy. Get here if you haven't already, it is an absolute must while in Blenheim. Thank you!
C.Can’t complain. Great attention to detail as you would expect from a fine dining restaurant. Waiting staffs are friendly and very knowledgeable about the wine they serve. Dishes are explained clearly. Service is tailored to the need of guests. One of the best dining experience I have ever had.

The meals themselves are excellent as is the coffee (big surprise). And one of the owners, Liz, is unassuming but totally in charge.

S.What an amazing meal, we decided to go for the 7 courses, with wine pairing, that was a great decision. We were not only satisfied afterwards, but the amazing details that the staff informed us into why that wine would go with this type of meal. Staff were very friendly, and informative, the meal it's self was amazing, cooked to perfection, I even had something don't normally eat. It wasn't a problem to change something on the menu if you couldn't eat it. And if you had dietary needs it wasn't a problem. I gave this rating because I would never normally go to a restaurant like this and I was very happy with my experience there. Yes the money we spent was worth it.
A.Arbour absolutely deserves its five star record. Everything from the food, service and ambience was exquisite. All the food is pretty much gluten free and all dishes can be adjusted. The ingredients are fresh, organic and make for a nourishing experience.
We opted for the tasting menu and each course was amazing. I especially loved the ham hock and prune. The matched wines include a selection of exclusive wines and the staff are very knowledgeable about everything you eat and drink.
A must visit while in Blenheim.

Wine matching made total sense, and there were a few touches that made it extra special: an off-menu treat at the beginning, the ability to swap out dishes if not totally to your taste in the set menu, and absolutely brilliant staff - attentive without smothering. Not just the best place in Marlborough, or one of the best in New Zealand, but stands up with other places around the world. If you're nearby, make sure you go.

J.What an absolutely incredible dining experience! From the time we arrived to when we left, it was perfect in every way. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough. The staff are personal, attentive, and knowledgeable (pretty sure we interacted with the proprietors). The food is simply delicious (we did the full “The Many” degustation). And the setting is warm and inviting. We live in Auckland and I would put this place on par, if not above, some of the fine dining restaurants we have up there. This is a must if you are visiting or live in Blenheim.

C.A disappointing meal. We had the 8 course degustation. The main was amazing. The venison was very tasty. The other courses we're borderline flavourless.
Everything was presented well, the staff were friendly just the food did not deliver.

H.We enjoyed our evening at Arbour. Imaginative food (we ordered "The Many" tasting menu), with superbly fresh ingredients well presented and thoughtfully matched with mainly local Marlborough wines. Nice setting and simple but attractive and relaxing ambience. My partner's food preferences were also well-catered for.
One negative was that the service staff were overstretched so the food and wine discussions felt a bit formulaic and rushed....not much chance for discussion and questions. About half way through our dinner a party of about 30 diners arrived, so that was perhaps the reason. It also resulted in us receiving only four courses over the first two and a quarter hours of our dining experience. Not really acceptable, but to Arbour's credit the service speeded up nicely after we pointed this out.
One suggestion would be to have a small printout available of the pairing wines served. It is hard to keep track, and certainly by the next morning the identity of that Pinot Gris one had half way through dinner will have long gone for most people, unless they wrote it down. I guess I should have taken pictures of the labels but that just feels a little naff. Even if the wines change frequently, a simple word-processed piece of paper would do the trick.
L.Innovative cuisine and warm, friendly service. Very well-put-together plates expressing seasonal produce and superb flavours. The meal was very good value for money and the whole dining experience left you with high spirits (with or without alcohol). One of our dining highlights in South Island.

The food was delicious. We chose the 'Many' courses degustation with wine match. Glad we did as I would not have been able to decide on which a la carte menu items. Again, the ingredients are sourced from local providers.

M.Holy moly this is one of the best meals we have ever had! We did the 'many' degustation at their foodie hour (5:30) and it was the best decision we have ever made! Oh and don't even get me started on their wine list and the fantastic sommelier who took us through the wine pairing. We are from Melbourne and it was better than alot of the three hat restaurants at home.

A.I would like to say if you have never had the pleasure of dining at Arbour Restaurant then you have not experienced true dining. This quaint Restaurant is nested on the out skirts of Renwick, from the moment you walk through the doors you are greeted with a warm smile and perfect service. If you think it can not get any better out comes the food which I have to describe as magical.
J.This restaurant is a gem. We had an equivalent to a Michelin multi star meal for a third of the price and the service of Julia who was wonderful. Could not fault anything. Walk through the garden and vineyard with a pre dinner drink ... perfection. Thank you.

A.Best food, wine list and service in Blenheim.
We tried a number of other restaurants (fine dining) while in Blenhem and this is by far the best due to the quality of the food, the exceptional service, the wine list and the 'nothing is too much trouble' attitude of Liz and her team.
We took a group of 11 to Blenheim for an annual client event. Our group was made up of foodies and wine'ies: everyone's well rehearsed in wine trips - we love good food and a great night out while we are on these events.
Arbour came recommended to us by our hotel and we were very pleased to find the restaurant more than lived up to expectations.
Right from the word go, from booking the Saturday night dinner with Liz, she made the arrangements seem no trouble at all.
When we arrived on the evening the atmosphere was welcoming, warm and relaxed. Liz made sure all the guests were comfortable and the 'boss' had the little black book of wine.
The food was incredible. We opted for a la carte for this particular night but gave Liz and the Chef carte blanche to select our hors d'oeuvres for us, which were absolutely perfect. A stunning selection of seafood served in a variety of ways.
The wine list was brilliant - we ordered from the 'little black book' of wine which certainly made us feel special being able to peruse and purchase from the hand written cellar stock.
Dinner was delicious, deserts and cheeses were fabulous. We ate and drank with abandon and were looked after seamlessly by Liz and her small but incredibly efficient team.
I would love to come back to Arbour again either with a big group or on a date night. Next time I'd make our visit a longer one and would go for the 'just feed me' degustation and I'd wallow in the luxury of this beautiful little gem of a restaurant.
