A.Tartufo pizza was nothing short of amazing, definitely worth the couple dollars more for this one. However can't say the same for the one with Italian sausage and fennel, not a lot of sausage and a whole lot of fennel. Cocktail list was nice and interesting, though there was little effort put into presentation with just a slice of lemon and a lot of salt in an $18 drink. Service was fantastic from all we met. Not a lot of pasta options that I would choose for myself. Garlic bread starter was also fantastic.
M.Ordered the prawn saffron pasta and tiramisu, with homemade rose lemonade. The lemonade was the best part as it was quite unique and delicious! I was not such a huge fan of the pasta, thought the flavor combination was ok but nothing spectacular. Their tiramisu had a lot of cream/mascarpone and not too much of the cake/ladyfingers, I didn’t enjoy that ratio too much unfortunately.
Their old menu looked a lot more exciting and the ragu looks delicious on their reviews, so hopefully one day these will be back and I can try it again!

Their menu is locally sourced, changes seasonally & they always have something delicious and different. Menu has a variety of dishes - veg, non veg, pasta, pizza. Drinks available are beers, NZ & International wine, cocktails, mocktails, coffees & softdrinks. Their bread, pasta & pizza are all freshly made by chefs. Star dish is a slow cooked lamb, risotto & their Ravioli is delicious thin & light (good portions as well)!
Walk-ins are welcome.
For Friday & Saturday book a table because this place fills up fast.
Bar sitting is available for dine in or quick meals. (Modern & clean bar).
Table bookings are between 1.5-2hrs depending what time you are booked for dine-in (always check with the restaurant). Bookings recommended for more than 2 people to avoid disappointments on busy days.
Outside sitting is available as well. Especially on a nice sunny day, the outside seating is ideal for a meal with family & friends.

D.From the moment we arrived we were greeted by a young gentleman full of energy and so professional. The food was delicious and all the staff were excellent. Cold water straight away and our drinks moments behind. Next time in Cambridge we are definitely coming back.

K.Ordered a gluten and dairy free expecting it to be very average considering the substitutions, but was extremely surprised with how delicious the pizza was! One of the best pizzas I’ve ever had
C.Very surprised to find this bustling busy and fantastic restaurant!! We arrived at 6pm and it was nearly packed! So glad we booked, the anchovies and mozzarella balls were a great starter but even better was the prawn pasta which melted in your mouth and the risotto was Devine.
The staff really cared about the level of service, many viaduct Auckland restaurants would be well outclassed with the service and easily the food quality as well. Oh we did not have the lamb shoulder but it looked amazing.
Lastly our Italian wait staff were so friendly and made the evening really authentic, highly recommend!!!!!!

Having travelled extensively in Italy (pre Covid!), the food, wine and attentive service of the team transported us back to our favourite haunts in Italy. Looking forward to returning again soon.

Pizza dough was light and chewy, the kids menu reasonable, and all the mains we tried were tasty and interesting. Wasn’t too much selection in the way of salads, but didn’t seem to need one.
Kids loved the dessert pizza. Staff were friendly and attentive - well done Cambridge, could be a regular stop on the way back to Auckland.
A.Decent Italian restaurant good for family. Antipasti dishes were good, especially the octopus and pizza bread. The pizzas were excellent. Pasta dishes and crayfish dish were ok. Lamb ragout was excellent.
Service could be better as waiters were not too attentive.

A.We had dinner on a busy Saturday night and fortunately got a table for 7 without prior reservations. The beef carpaccio and pizza were very good, service was prompt and friendly. Definitely worth the visit!
T.Excellent, from the friendly welcome as we came in the door to the service, venue and the food itself. A little high priced for a pizza, (and I didn't know there was a $3 surcharge for gluten free base until we paid), and could have been hotter, but it was delicious and the base crispy. We had Hawaiian with mushrooms.
The chocolate pave dessert was way smaller than I expected for $16, but this too was delicious. Delectable even, but I forgot to take a photo.
We would go again as a treat.

C.Great decor, great atmosphere, with friendly and helpful staff. I have a serious and potentially life-threatening allergy, so dining out usually requires a lot of pre-planning. However an impromptu (and apprehensive on my part) visit recently while staying in the area turned into an amazing experience. The Head Chef personally came to see me to create a pasta dish that was safe for me to have. Wow!! It next level knocked my socks off. So delicious, I had to do a happy dance in my seat. It was so good in fact, that we returned that night for dinner. Outstanding.
E.Possibly the best pizza (Verdure) I've ever eaten, and that includes the ones I've had in Italy. Portion was sufficient without being excessive, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere is lovely, and the staff are friendly, helpful and energetic! Would come here from Auckland next time we have a special occasion to celebrate.

N.Alpino was a busy and popular restaurant to visit . The service was lovely and drinks came out quickly. Our group of 12 had most meals come out about the same te except for the steak people who did have a bit of a wait. The pappedelle dish was delicious. I was impressed they had an item not on the menu available to order for dessert . The only thing I didn't really like was we had dinner at 6pm and needed to vacate by 8pm ready for another sitting !

N.I love Alpino. A friend and I go there for lunch, we share fries and a pizza then we both have a house wine and ice cream and it is A super tasty, B super affordable and C just all round fabulous. If you're ever in Cambridge and keen for a bite to eat, go to Alpino.

E.We were just doing a road trip and ended up in cambridge. Then we decided to eat here spontaneously. We had a great experience. Menu was a bit expensive but thats what you expect in a fine dining establishment. But the ambiance and the staff were all great and made the experience very nice.
A.Was our first time eating here. Folded pizza lacked a bit of filling but was tasty enough. Was offered some sparkling water to start with, but there was no indication that this would be chargeable ($9) until we paid the bill. Service was good. Nice ambience. Overall a pleasant experience.

L.Went here for an early family meal, hadn’t booked. They amazingly could fit us in if we departed by 7.30 which was fine as we had young children. The service was incredible, they were super attentive without being annoying. They were extremely thoughtful and kind to my children. The food was Devine, loved every bite of my crayfish pasta dish. The kids had a blast and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, I’ll be returning again as soon as possible.

We had pasta which had great balance in texture and flavors, and the original Italian pizza with prosciutto and rucola. We loved that menu offered choices which would different from other Italian restaurants, and staff were very knowledgeable and attentive.

C.After walking off the street with 3 hungry children we were quickly found a table despite it being a hugely, busy night. We only ordered pizzas and salads but our food came out promptly and was absolutely delicious. Proper, authentic Italian cuisine and friendly, fantastic service.

I.The real deal! This place serves genuine, high quality Italian food in an equally stylish atmosphere. The service was great too! This was some of the best Italian food I've ever had and I'm from Toronto ,which has a large Italian immigrant population, and therefore many high quality restaurants serving authentic fair.

B.We havent had dinner at Alpino for years but discovered their divine takeaway pizzas at the end of lockdown. Went for dinner as a group of 5 this Wednesday evening. Loved the decor but it was very busy and very noisy. Had good service apart from one waiter who was so speedy (or impatient?) he wouldnt give us time to choose a bottle of wine ourselves.

R.We LOVE this restaurant. We've loved everything we tried - seafood pizza with anchovies, homemade raviolis, plus a few of the desserts. We went once when we were stuck in Cambridge for an evening on our way back to Auckland. Now, we willingly make the diversion through Cambridge just to stop here. It's in a large space so we've never had problems getting a table. The wait staff have been friendly. And honestly, the food is fantastic. The portion sizes are somewhat small (unless ordering a pizza) but the quality makes up for the quantity.

T.Went on a Friday evening. Had to book in advance earlier in the day because they're quite busy.
Lovely decor and very professional staff. Even though the restaurant was packed full the staff still kept us very well waited on.
We had the Eye Fillet Steak and the Calzone for our main. The Eye Fillet was outstanding. Medium rare, very tender and full of flavour. The gravy and mash it was served with were divine.
The Calzone was just as good. Nice and crispy on the outside with good quality ham and cheese on the inside, served with a fresh tomato sauce on the side.
Good choice of desserts, although I would have loved to see some profiteroles on there. We had the Duck Island Ice cream and the Valrohna Guanaja Chocolate Mousse.
I can't fault this place. Great experience and great food. I'll definitely be going again.

A.This place is great. We went as a large group and they catered for all (allergies and preferences alike). For the vegans... let them know and they will accommodate brilliantly. Yes, they are a little bit more expensive but you definitely get what you pay for.

First time, I had the fish and chicken Over there which was very good.
Downside is that there were a lot of flies around that distracted us alot and we couldn't %100 enjoy the food.
Second time I went there, no more flies (which is good), again the food was delicious and the portion was ok. The new italian manager came to check and he was very nice, humble, polite and knowledgeable about the food. I highly recommended him.
Odownside is that it's extremely over priced for mozzarella sticks, chicken bites, fish and pizza ($100). Basically two appetizers and two main dish with only orange juice. I wanted to rate it two stars or one but food was great and going back again is not planned at all due to pricing.
And both times the restaurant was empty (around 12:30 am & around 1:40) no customers, hopefully the person who made the prices wakes up.

M.What a neat place! The staff are discreetly attentive - from arrival to departure they were unfailingly cheerful and helpful and are a real asset. It was so cool to see that the staff has an international flavour and that they appear to enjoy their respective roles.
The food was amazing and exceeded my expectations for a provincial restaurant. From the duck pate (see how good I am at the technical descriptors!) to the mouth-watering sirloin and the gorgeously silky-smooth chocolate mousse I savoured every bite. Also the added touch of the complimentary salmon thingy at the start was delightful, appreciated and really set the scene for a great night.
The atmosphere is also just as I like - noisy and busy with the pervading feeling that everyone, including babies are catered for, and are enjoying the experience. Thank you so much. It was amazing!
One thing though - please don't move to Manurewa. Our favourite restaurant may miss out on business!

The service was fairly hit and miss, lack of cutlery when the mains arrived, etc. Nothing terrible, but the wait staff are basically teenagers under training rather than professionals as far as I could see.

r.Came here on Mother’s Day evening after making a late booking they said come and have a drink and we’ll fit you in.We were only there a few minutes and we had a table for two.The service was great considering they were so busy and we had two very tasty steak meals with a side of fresh beans and drinks.The restaurant has a very friendly atmosphere and we will definitely be back.
L.Four of us had dinner and the food was extraordinary. It was super busy so we needed to wait a little for our mains but it was worth while. Would love to go back everyday. So pleased to have such an awesome restaurant in Cambridge :)

Euro style pizza. EDIT: visited Alpino on a Wed night, which was quite busy. I arrived before our party of 5. Most tables were full but shortly after I arrived a bar table vacated and a waiter indicated I could use this and I sat at this and awaited a beer. Shortly after the maitre de came over and asked me to move off as he had others to fill the table, and claimed it was 'reserved'. It was clear he just thought I was alone and wanted to fill the table. I find this rude, and had I not already ordered beer would have left, and encouraged the rest of our party to also. Food was still fine, but a maitre de without decorum or tact, won't have me rushing back now.
