A.Tastes ok and reasonable price. To me it was salty and sweet. Friendly service. Many seats available inside, takeout also possible. Food made quickly after the order. Portion is just enough for women. Extra rice 3$, lunch menu around 10~15$.

S.Food is delicious and good variety. Their lunch menu is very concise. Their portions are not large but as per the reasonable price they charge. I recommend ordering a few different mains to share around and you will enjoy the meal tasting all the different choices. Good place for a quick lunch during the workdays.
D.We dropped in at 930pm and they were still serving dinner. We got our meals quickly and they were delicious. Choo chee was very tasty, veges and fish cakes really good. All reasonably priced. We would definitely recommend.
B.The girlfriend and I were looking for a good curry around Central Christchurch on a cold day and happened upon Aroy Thai.
We were greeted by a friendly server and seated quickly. The restaurant is fairly typical of a traditional Thai restaurant, albeit a bit outdated, it was charming. We were served quickly and the food arrived within ten minutes. Both the vegetable green curry (my meal) and the vegetable Paneang curry (my girlfriends meal) well well-spiced and a good portion size considering the $12 price tag - with a drink included.
The server was very friendly and we had no issues in this regard like some other reviews.
The only main issue I had is that our seat right against the front windows seemed to smell a bit strange. The odour of wet dog / feet is not the most inviting scent in a Thai restaurant. It may have been just a weird mix of smells from spices but it wasn't overly pleasent.
Overall a great place to stop for a well-priced lunch! Also, I hope you like 90s-sounding Southeast Asian pop music.
N.Yum food but can be cold during winter
A.Amazing panaeng curry! So flavourful and well cooked, and the $12 lunch deal was perfect (any main and a drink). Service was friendly and quick and the restaurant had relaxing music and a good atmosphere. Would definitely come back again.

Lamb shank was amazing, and something thats different from other usual thai restaurants.
Pad Thai with yellow noodles is my fave and I will be back and looking forward to it.

A.I must've been lucky the couple of times I ordered from here when looking at the other reviews because the peanut sauce dish I've been getting for takeaways is delicious. Plenty of sauce and generous portions.

J.Walked in for takeaway- ordered chicken pad Thai and got our food within 10 minutes. Broke af college students and this was perfect 11/10 recommend. Didn't get a lime with it but didn't need it. Not too overpowering on the peanuts either. Sad to see it all gone. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I do recommend their Panaeng Curry, it is different from the normal Thai red, yellow and green curries. Come on, try it. You won't regret it.

26/01/2016 - went back for lunch today and had chicken larb. It is delicious and flavoursome, minty and slightly spicy.
20/05/2016 - had lunch today. Updated menu with some new dishes like venison wonton (nice) and now there's a new meat option; crispy pork. I wouldn't recommend it to go with curry..
M.The best red curry in town..with crispy roast pork...OMG delicious...the Hor Muk a seafood red curry wrapped in wilted cabbage leaf... also amazing...had years ago never forgotten!
