A.It was really nice to dine for one of the first times here, usually we have only ever had drinks here!
Amazing service from Suzi and we loved the food. We were so full we nearly needed rolled out the door. 🤣 We also loved that Cafe Valentino was able to cater to our dietary needs: vegan, gluten free, soy and peanut free with out any fuss. Delicious drinks. We look forward to dining again.

We returned to Cafe Valentino after a gap of about 18 months, and for the first time under the new owners.
It was like good old days - delicious authentic food and good service.
There are not many choices for vegetarian pizzas. This ‘problem’ was easily overcome, thanks to Sitara, who was attending us. She said, “tell me what you want and don’t want, and we will make it for you.” See the photo of the vegetarian pizza, which was a result of this.
You won’t find it on the menu, but you can savour it here.
What else can one ask for!
The entree - bruschetta- was as good as we remembered. Their balsamic vinegar is special.
The drinks and dessert was good too.
Highly recommended.
S.We had an early dinner and used a Dining Website that offered a discount. The atmosphere was lovely, the seating was comfortable. We were a group of 4 and sat in a booth. We ordered woodfired garlic bread which we shared. The waitstaff were friendly and professional, our drinks order was taken immediately and came back fast. We ordered pizzas, and a child's meal which was also a pizza! The wait for the food was relatively short, and it was all served at the same time. We ate everything, the pizzas were thin based and very traditional. We ordered desserts too, the ice cream sundae special, chocolate cake and pear Panna cotta, kids meal included a large sundae. Totally recommend this resturant 🙂
S.The ambience is great and so were the pizzas. They were totally worth the value. I just feel like the pastas could be done better. But 11/10 for the ambience, service and staff.

A.Magnificent. Absolutely wonderful friendly service, classic and unique aesthetic. Food that will feed your soul, and the Rum Chocolate Truffles will change your life. You will be dreaming of them and dying to come back. Cannot recommend highly enough.
A.Good atmosphere, food and service. At first glance the menu looks a little pricey but for good Italian food it was worth it.
J.The food was simply superb. We ordered Linguine Siciliana, Polpettine and Chicken Parmigana. I really enjoyed my succulent prawns. The meatballs were fresh, flavorful and infused with herbs, while the chicken was tender and delicious. The ambience was tasteful and relaxing.
There was a fretful toddler at the next table who made her feelings very plain. The waiter in a red shirt saved the day. He produced a coloring sheet and pencil. Presto! the toddler immediately quietened down and started coloring. He was attentive and professional, checking not just on the toddler's table, but also ensuring that everything was to our satisfaction. He is such an asset to the restaurant and I can't recommend him enough. Thanks for ensuring all of us diners had a wonderful dining experience.
R.Cafe Valentino is a Christchurch institution! I have being enjoying amazing Italian food here for 20 plus years! From a rebellious active teenager to a less active mum and wife. When it was located near the town hall so many musical acts would stop by and sign posters etc and sometimes you'd catch a glimpse of Diana Krall eating near you! Pretty cool! The 'new' restaurant is beautiful and they have made it so gorgeous and user friendly. My husband and I had a wonderful meal here and many cocktails it was just magic. We love it here and will always hold it in our hearts as one of the best restaurants in our curinary cannon... The maitre'd gifted us limoncello shots. It was a fabulous night. As always I reccomened this restaurant for excellent quality food and highly professional staff. Thanks cafe Valentino for a great meal every time we come by! Molto bene!
g.I went there Feb 6th for dinner. The Bruschetta was amazing and so were both of our mains.
Only a few small criticisms, the mains were far too hot - steaming, for about 10 mins we couldn't eat them and had to wait for them to cool. Also, Italian themed music would be a nice addition.
Overall we really liked it and will definitely be back really soon.

M.We selebrated my birthday last night and this place did not disappointed us. Service was outstanding. Food was delicious and arrived on time. Atmosphere was great. We enjoyed the time we spent here and will be back for sure.
A.Nice atmosphere, entree & main meals were nice & quite quick considering how busy it was.
I had a non alc watermelon cocktail, I'd suggest the other. The tiramisu dessert was Devine!
C.My wife was so excited that they made gluten free pasta that she forgot to mention that she was gluten free. The staff over heard her saying quietly “I forgot to order gluten free”. The staff then came out and made her a new meal completely gluten free and didn’t charge for the gluten free. They were so lovely and understanding it just made our experience that much better
K.Was here to celebrate a birthday with a group. I find Cafe Valentino is great for both group occasions and more intimate events. This time I had Fettuccine Al Salmone E Vodka. It was so delightfully creamy and filling. Was so delicious. Will definitely have that again. The service was fairly prompt and friendly.

There is plenty of space for big groups of people, can get loud, and the dim lighting is good for a nice mood. The price is up there for the quality of food you get. J.Great atmosphere, great choice of wine. Food is excellent, however I would say it would be good if they focused more on the fresh pasta. I had the beef cheeks, although it was lovely food the fresh pasta was covered almost like a stew which really tool away the emphasis on the pasta. Would go again though just maybe ask next time on the preparation of the food before I order
K.A fab Christchurch eatery. We dined there as a family and all enjoyed our meals. Seemed very popular with a packed out restaurant, so booked (as recommended by a friend). Wait-time for meals was a little on the long side. The fried ravioli with spicy tomato sauce was worth the wait though.
V.We’ve been already twice , once for dinner and today for lunch. Both times the food has been amazing and the service of the staff very friendly and professional. They have the option of gluten and dairy free in all the pasta dishes which is amazing. The interior of the restaurant is really unique , has a mix of an industrial look, Italian open pizza oven station and lots of celebrities posters and other items.
It’s a really cool place to go for a meal or even just for a drink.
M.I ordered a mushroom ravioli with spinach and white wine sauce. It was absolutely delicious! So tasty! Also, I had polenta with blue cheese cream... Very good! My husband got salmon and he did enjoy too!
Y.Meals are of great quality with good portion size. It is a bit of a struggle to find a vegan option, but staff are very friendly and helpful.
T.Lovely deco're and excellent wait staff. The waitress came and checked on us twice, as one of my friends has a severe food allergy ,so she made sure we were ordering safe food from the kitchen..I really liked the atmosphere here. I wasn't keen on the meal I had but my friends enjoyed their meals. I will come back to try something else as the prices were also not over the top like other places.
M.Pizzas were amazingly great as it is baked in brick oven! The pasta was nice, creme brulee was smooth but the tiramisu is nah, too moist and bland. The interior is elegant and high ceiling which is very unique in nz. However, when i asked the resrvation on the phone if they could provide a plate or something that says happy birthday he said they dont.
A.Had linguine marinara. This was nice but overpowered by mussels. Some other items if seafood would have been nice. Definitely worth a try though. And their other dishes look nice..

Second visit with family. 280$ approx for 5 adults n 2 kids (under 10) with no alcohol. Expensive for the service. Had gamberi prawns and calamari for entree. Margharita pizza, fettuccine Apollo, linguine marinara(2nd time) , Ringatoni cardinale, salom fillet, linguine pollo pistachio, coke sprite, and pana cotta.
For some reason I didn’t like the linguine marinara second time around too. Plz avoid. Rest of the food was nice. But certainly expensive even without any alcohol.
J.Food is absolutely delicious!! I had the Salmon Pasta special and it was sooo tasty. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Tash was able to choose an incredible wine for me to taste. Will definitely come in again.

B.Went out to cafe Valentino for my birthday dinner with my girlfriend. Had heard good things about the restaurant but had never tried it. I'll start off by saying that the service was really good, staff checked if everything was okay and were pleasant people. For my starter I ended up ordering a seafood chowder which had muscles, smoked fish, prawns and calamari. It was very creamy and thick which is what you want when having a chowder. For my main I had the Fettucine Apollo and had the option of having it in a creamy pasta or tomato pasta, I ended up choosing creamy. It contained bacon bits, mushrooms and smoked chicken. I enjoyed my meal , found it very delicious , I would rather they cooked up the chicken from scratch rather then what I believe was the whole smoked chicken that you get from the supermarket area next to the bacon section BUT it was very delicious and I have always liked that smoked chicken anyway. My partner had a pasta aswell which was called "Pappardelle Al Ragu Di Guanciale". The sauce was made out of tomato as the main ingredient and the meat in it was beef cheeks. The beef cheeks were divine and pulled apart so easily, an absolutely delicious meal. We shared a dessert which was called " Valenino Al Cioccolato"; a brownie that had blueberries and raspberries aswell as mascarpone. I loved the dessert , I was already full after eating my starter and main but j enjoyed the dessert so much that I just had to finish it. Great meals and I'll definitely be back again.
J.Food was exceptional. Was suprised the chef's who are in full view; had no masks and a waitress apparently had a mask exception it is too PC to ask why or if double vaxxed.
H.Was not expecting it to be this good, in fact I was quite surprised, I thought it was just a small cafe/restaurant. Warm atmosphere and service. The cosy interior, soft music and gentle bustle of the kitchen in the background will make you feel at ease. The staff look after you, they are very calm and friendly. The food was simply splendid - perfectly portioned and quite filling. My iced mocha took a while to come but I soon forgot about that when it arrived - top notch, blessed hands made that drink. I drink lots of iced chocolates/mochas from different places and this was high on my list. Do you yourself a favour and spend an evening in immersion here, you'll leave a better person.

Kids menu was poor charging $16.50 don't even get a drink with it it .
Considering how much they charge for adult meals . Just way too much for average taste definitely won't be back.
C.This was one of the highly-recommended restaurants by our Christchurch-born B and B owner and yes, it didn't disappoint. Food & service were very good. We had salmon & lamb chops on our 1st dinner and the night after, we tried their huge and tasteful pizza. Perfect! We had great experiences in both instances. Waitstaff who attended to us were friendly, warm, talkative & accommodating. I particularly liked the Indian or Central American-looking waitstaff - very warm, professional & attentive! Sorry forgot to ask her name. Although we had no prior reservations considering this was one of the best restos in Christchurch, we were fortunate to have made it in time for a table for 2. Both nights! One after the other - yessss! :) Talk about luck & good timing! :) Clean & good-smelling restroom. Nice ambiance. What more can you ask for? This place is highly recommended if you want to have great Italian food when in Christchurch. Worth your time, effort & money! Check it out!

S.The highly trained wait and bar staff coupled with the wonderfully skilled chefs make every experience fantastic. The atmosphere is a great blend of classy and cozy, and the quality of food is not only proven by taste, but also the many awards and famously autographed pictures.
S.Whenever we pass from the city, we always see the bright logo and always wondered how it was. Last Sunday I made a booking for 6 and all of my friends except me are vegan and vegetarian. They had so many options for vegetarian food and everything tasted just amazing. The portion size is not small as well and its worth the price. Ambience and staff 5/5 as well. Would definitely recommend.

d.Delicious food at reasonable prices with pleasant service. Albeit a slightly crowded establishment, it's more of a testament to the good food they are serving than just trying to fill an empty space as Cafe Valentino is usually full to capacity on my visits. The service can be a little slow, but it's not an unreasonable amount of time for the large volume of patrons being served and can easily be passed with a nice glass of vino and conversation with your company. With a lot of interesting posters and the usual food related decoration associated in an Italian restaurant, it's atmosphere is suitable for any occasion from a romantic dinner for 2 through to an large event if you needed.
I definitely recommend this place for a bite.

S.Warm and inviting venue. Cafe Valentino always produces. Italian delicacies well presented with a modern flair. Tried and true recipes are bought to life. Highly reccomend the ravioli starter. Pasta mains were generous and delish although I would not have the marinara fettuccine again as the seafood was overcooked. I mentioned this to the waitresses and they bent over backwards to accommodate me with a new dish and redund for my original order. Others at my table had no qualms whatsoever so I think the chef just had a timing issue with my meal. Menu is extensive, with gluten free and vegetarian options, something for everyone. Everything was affordable including the drinks list. Cheesecake dessert was to die for, will have it again. Uber eats option available to.
E.Great ambience. Service was great too, attentive to our needs and dining experience. It is open plan so a little noisy and there is no privacy from neighbouring diners.
Choice of cocktails and wine menu was extensive and we thoroughly enjoyed our picks.
Unfortunately, the request for no onion in one of our dishes due to a food intolerance must have got lost in translation as there was definitely onion present...in abundance. In fairness to the restaurant, we didn't complain, we were starving by the time our food arrived so just tried to pick it all out. However half the meal was left uneaten as a result. Otherwise it was a fabulous meal.

R.Cafe V has been a family favourite for many years. Due to moving to north Canterbury we have not been as often. We went last night to celebrate a birthday. Service was great and the pasta dishes were delicious, the steak however was well cooked but in our opinion very overpriced for the small size. Very few potatoes and a little greens for $46! In our experience prices have risen dramatically and portions have reduced. We will be finding a new favourite restaurant
J.A very pleasing welcome when I first entered. The manager confirmed parking availability next door. A so polite waitress offered a table while I awaited my friend. Drinks and Menu calmly placed in front of us. Food was great too. Plentiful.

S.Booked a table for 2 early on a Friday night. The service from all of the staff we interacted with was outstanding, prompt, friendly, and polite. The food was absolutely amazing, I would definitely recommend the "Angry Pasta", the flavours are perfect. Leave room for a dessert though, or at least, make room.
Overall, an exceptional meal, service, and dining experience. Definitely recommend dining at Cafe Valentino. We will be back. 💯🙂

We have a coeliac on staff so I emailed ahead of time to see if their gluten free options were coeliac safe and they went to soo much trouble to make sure he had something safe to eat and checked in again with us once we arrived to make sure again that he was catered for. Great ambiance and drinks too!
C.This place is amazing, we visited for the first time after their relocation in the city centre. We made a last minute booking on a Friday night and managed to get a table for 2. Maitre'd was very helpful in rescuing our car from the car park.
Our order of seafood pasta and a Mediterranean salad was a great choice.
We will certainly be back in near future!
N.Super happy with this restaurant. Didn't have to wait for wait staff, food was amazing and filled the plate, price is fair and the premise was clean and inviting. We had drinks, a starter and mains all within one hour! Highly recommend 🙂
s.Great selection of food and drinks. The wait staff was very helpful and made us feel very welcomed. We ordered flat bread woodfire baked to start with and had chicken parmigana and fettuccine. Food was very fresh and authentic italian taste. You can tell everything was homemade. This will be one of our favorite restaurants for sure.

M.We went there on a Graduation day, so the place was booked out, but we were among the first. The staff were friendly and professional, and a good atmosphere. We had an entries platter which was a mix of good Mediterranean delicatessen and rather basic Nothern European items, like Holland style salami and gerkins, so 3/5 for that. Then we had pasta which were slightly overcooked and one sauce with cheese too fatty and the other, with meat balls, just a bit bland. We also had two pizzas, of the thin dough variety; they were both very good, so if you go there that would be our recommendation, rather than pasta.

B.A great atmosphere to enjoy whatever you decide to have; eat or drink. Service can't be faulted; well that's my experience on a number of occasions.
H.I treated myself tonight and decided to have a cocktail. My favourite wasn't on the list but the bartender whistled up a Cosmopolitan for me easily. The menu is extensive with something for everyone. I tried the lamb tagliatelle with lemon and ricotta - beautiful and a bit different. My colleague had the kidneys which he felt were overwhelmed by the tomato based sauce.
Desserts were enjoyed from the truffles to the chocolate cake and I can vouch for the Tiramisu - divine!

S.It was an early Saturday evening and the place was packed full of people. This gave it a cheerful, happy ambience that immediately removed any thoughts of the external world outside the cafe's boundaries - a bottle of Giunness or two also helped. There were five of us, the waitresses were efficient considering the crowd and my kidney and bacon dish was superb. No complaints from any of us. Cheers.

K.Food was amazing as always. Loved this place back in the Colombo Street days and have dined at the "newer" location several times and loved the food and staff. Ace (Chin) deserves a special mention as he was friendly and happy and accommodating. He could teach the female staff a thing or two as they certainly didn't appear to be enjoying their job. Shame there was no Pinot Gris by the glass cos the Pinot Grigo recommended to me was awful and the Sav even more so.
f.Café Valentino has genuine authentic Italian cuisine. Go there hungry because you will eat every tiny morsel and leave fully satisfied 😊 satisfied ~ think ' food baby ' forget weight watchers 😂 I honestly was so full 💖💗I wanted to sleep 💤😅We ate the garlic Flatbread 🫓and chicken parmesana....words fail the deliciousness 😋
성.The staff were friendly but i can't order, because they were too busy. I spent too much time for ordering. They cleaned the table and set it up, but it smells so reek on the table. Food was delicious but i waited an hour for taking my food. If you don't have enough time, I don't recommend. But if you have enough time, you can consider going to this restaurant.
B.It's always a great restaurant for food and drink and service. Consistently good quality. I have been going there from time to time consistently for years; long before the crippling earthquake in 2011.
Last night I had the linguine Apollo; smoked chicken with a creamy tomato sauce. It was full of delicious flavour.
C.We loved the squid starter and the sea food pasta. Id like to special thank the Asian look waitress. She kindly took pictures for me and my bf. This is our first dinner out. It means a lot to us. Thank you. Will come back. After 6 months: Had a company Xmas dinner here last night felt it's a bit overpriced with a 60 dollars menu with limited main course and dessert. I've heard this place is sold to a new owner..

K.I went here for my team's Christmas lunch & what a great venue, the acoustics were a little off though, I found it quite difficult to hear what was being said at my table sometimes, aside from that the food was superb. I had the Margherita pizza & the hand cut fries, just delicious, actually most of my table had pizza's of some sort, and they all looked delicious! Considering the size of our table the actual wait for our meals wasn't to long. In regards to pricing I thought it mid range $$
M.This restaurant caters for large groups. It may be noisy but the prices are moderate and the servings generous. There's gluten free option for all pasta and pizza dough for little charge.
The waitresses need better training and a smile to make the difference with other restaurants.
Letting people know they're coming and not crossing their arms in front of the customers'faces would be safer too.
I will continue to visit the place.

P.Dinner with friends good venue for a chat and catch up. Problems with main courses were met with adequate compensation. Tables are crammed in and not laid out well for a large group making moving around very difficult. Making one long table would of been better. Nice decor and clean facilities. Good overall vibe.

E.A really great Italian restaurant in the city that is perfect for a date night or a group dinner. The food is great, particularly the desserts which are beautifully presented, and the drinks are really good too. The staff are really amazing and are very good at getting food out and working under pressure! The only reason I’m giving four stars is because we waited over an hour for our table despite having made a reservation beforehand. We went to wait at the bar to get drinks while waiting but the bar staff ignored us so we couldn’t order any drinks! It was a very very busy night though so overall the experience was still fantastic and the staff did really well on such a busy night.

E.I would say the best Italian place I have been in New Zealand so far. Wait times are considerable but the food was amazing. I order Chicken Fettuccine and some pizza bread, both overwhelmingly good. The ambient, decoration and music were nice. The price is reasonable. You might want to consider to book ahead as it can be busy during dinner times.
M.Fantastic place. The atmosphere is good, comfortable. I had the ravioli of the day (happened to be pumpkin with chorizo) which was simply amazing. My wife had the Mediterranean salad and felt the same. I could go on for a couple of paragraphs about each, but suffice it to say that both dishes were amazing. We have some very good Italian restaurants in our area in the States, but after tasting from each other's plates we agreed that this was better than any we could remember.
Our waitress Kate was absolutely charming. She made us feel very welcome, was helpful with questions about the menu, and was great to chat with. We felt right at home.
We liked the place so much that we made a reservation for the Friday we'll be arriving back in Christchurch.
Our only regret is that we didn't save room for dessert. Next time!
j.Been here twice. First time it was quite loud and dark, the light placement made it hard for me to read the menu. That said, while the pizza I had was a little greasy, the food was nice and tasted good regardless and I had a good time.
Second time I came was during summer and at a different time. I had absolutely no problems with it this time around. The food was delicious and everything we had was great. Looking forward to going here again sometime.

C.This is my regular dinner place. The staffs are extremely friendly to us and our B&B guests. The seafood options and vegetarian options are great. Special award winning dishes such as lamb are to die for. When I am there for my meal, I am in heaven. Don't forget the double chocolate brownie desert if any space left for the night.

K.I actually haven't eaten there YET!! but will at first chance. REASON : yesterday, on the radio, the owner was interviewed about how they are coping with the level 4 and now level 3. I was just so impressed with his answers. He never spoke badly of anyone, refusing to blame the council or others for his situation. S.Shared the most beautiful meal, desserts and evening with some friends this past Wednesday. The service was prompt and friendly and engaged, and the food was absolutely to die for. I didn’t catch all the waitresses’ names but one who served us - Mahana - took good care to make sure we were well looked after and happy and I’m very impressed! Will definitely be coming back.
M.We turned up at 6:30pm on a Saturday night without a reservation, having just arrived in New Zealand a few hours earlier. Despite being fully booked out the amazingly friendly staff were quick to offer us a shorter sitting time. At no point did we feel rushed possibly due to the entertaining and highly attentive service and an impressively quick kitchen (and we ordered special orders into the bargain)! The food was incredibly fresh and flavourful and very popular with the locals as well it would seem! We cannot recommend highly enough every aspect of our experience here.
D.Hadn't been to the new Valentinos last went to their old premises when they were in Colombo Street. Very nice modern setting in the new premises plenty of tables that could be joined together as bigger dining groups needed. Very pleasant friendly staff great menu choice and food was delicious. Good wine selection also. Although they were very busy service was fast turnaround.
K.I have been here twice and really enjoyed the first visit. On the second visit i ordered the fired ravioli. The tom and basil sauce was salty, like, uneatable. I sadly had to return it to the kitchen and they replaced the meal in a take away bag. I wasn't hungry enough to try a second meal and was flying out in the morning. It would have been nice to have been given the choice between a discount or the free meal. Will return despite that.
P.When we first arrived at Valentino's it was about 6.30pm and the place was packed. We were a party of 12 and we sat down and it was quite snug in among the other diners but it was kinda fun.
From there on in I was in awe of how hard the staff at Valentino's work to make a great night, and their efficiency and organisation is impressive. They kept us fed and up to date with drinks until we nearly burst, along with everyone else in the restaurant.
The food is outstanding. We had a wide selection off the menu and everyone raved about the quality and the generosity.

E.Went for pasta night, both my dish and my wife's dish lacked flavor and the sauce on my rigatoni pomodoro was watery. We ended up dipping the fries in the sauces. Service was ok but we waited long for our check. Cool space with all the movie posters and high ceilings though

Good steak, meals on the higher end of the price spectrum. service friendly but slow (understaffed for the number of people) as we often struggled to get wait staff. I think each waiter/waitress has specific tables as other staff seem to try and ingore you when possible

I.It was a great pleasure dining at Cafe Valentino. Great food enriched by splendid customer service, together with the stunning interior and lovely music, make up for a very enjoyable time. You can watch your food being prepared in the open kitchen! And when you decide to visit, have a look at the framed wine bottle on one of the walls - the only bottle that survived the 2011 quake.

When the Linguine arrived, it was some of the most delicious, and perfectly textured I have ever had the pleasure to eat. This fantastic food was served, by a phenomenal waitress - Mahana. She was extremely friendly, helpful, and prompt with the food delivery. She was what really brought the whole night to be as fantastic as it was. I cannot reccomend Valentino’s enough, and will certainly be returning to try the rest of the menu!

I.A decent restaurant. It can often be quite busy with a noisy interior. You may end up waiting a while for your orders and if you're lucky they will arrive just perfect. An absolute must if you're taking advantage of the monday/Tuesday night half price pasts specials.

Also not to be outdone on the complementory lemoncello.... I love lemoncello. 5 stars if not for the water/wine!

L.My friend and I go here approx once a month and always have wonderful food and service, we invited someone else along last night and was so embarrassed by the treatment we received by the person who seated us, she was fine to start with and brought us drinks and menus but never came back for order, we called out to her in a nice manner to ask if we could get order taken, after the death stare she came over , said "yip", snatched the menus out of our hands and was extremely rude - hope if we go back she isn't our waitress!!

C.Cafe Valentino is a great dinner spot that is surviving in the reviving CBD. Bookings are definitely recommended for this hotspot as it gets crowded in the evenings; I also recommend a business casual outfit, but definitely not required. My friends and I sat outside as it was the only table available at 7:30pm on a Saturday. The inside features a bar area where old American movies play with subtitles and a more comfortable dining area.
Service was slow, but only due to the high volume of customers, otherwise our waitress was on top of it. We ordered bruschetta (with extra bread as it only comes with three pieces normally) and mussels. Both were fantastic. The tomato-based sauce the mussels were marinading it was amazing and the mound of fresh tomatoes, garlic onions on top of the large bread slices in balsalmic and olive oil were mouth watering. Everyone ordered a pasta dish, though meat/chicken/vegetable mains are available. I ordered the potato and parmesan gnocchi. It was served in a red sauce, tossed with zucchini, red peppers and garlic and was baked with melted mozzarella on top. It was a little heavy on the sauce and the gnocchi was a little undercooked, but I would prefer that to overcooked. I still ate every bite. One friend ordered Spaghetti Bolognese with red sauce and ground meat. It's simple, but a classic. His wife ordered Rigatoni Zucca (without chicken) and was extremely satisfied. My husband ordered the most popular Penne Basilicata with Canterbury lamb fillet which was served on penne noodles, manuka smoked tomatoes, feta and spinach. The sauce was sweet chili and sundried tomato infused olive oil. Sounds amazing? Well, it is.
With our dinner we enjoyed affordable glasses of wine from the moderate selection. My husband had two Moata beers. We didn't opt for dessert, but the menu looked delicious, so I recommend saving space. Overall, I was very full when I left Cafe Valentino and would happily return again.

Spent an awesime evening with friends at Cafe Valentino, the restaurant was recommended by our driver and I must say it was well worth the visit...from the moment we arrived at the bar, the bartender was extremely accomdating & shared what he stated was his favorites at the resturant...well, the bartender (henry) didnt disappoint, there were 9 of us and when dinner arrived conversation ceased and food consumption began...
