Always got this at least once a week. Brought again last night, I have to ask....what's changed? I got mixed chicken & lamb with chilli sauce & extra tizaki (can't spell it!) sauce. The flavours were still there but the lamb was hard & had hardly no tizaki sauce but had extra chilli sauce. So was too chili for me to enjoy. Will give another chance though.

We had a mix meat salad there. It was good in taste and quantity was good. We paid around for 15 nzd for medium size salad. Worthy.. Situated in Riccarton, infront of ANZ Riccarton branch.

What else can I say but.... "Oh my God". Only the best souvlaki I have ever had. Always make sure I drop in to have one or five when in Christchurch. I live in Australia so doesn't happen as often as I would like. Especially over the last year and a bit thanks to COVID. I'm going again for one last double chicken Saturday before I fly home.

Low-key spot for a quick bite. The food is good and the meat is properly cooked. I had chicken and lamb platter and both were delicious. One serving of meat may not be enough if you are hungry.

I have to give Dimitris a 5 star approval. Over a large number of years of buying their Greek food I have never been disappointed. The souvelakis are great and you get a really big feed of tasty meats (or vegetarian) salads and sauces. A small place on Riccarton Road so car parking is slightly challenging. Although you may get lucky find an empty car park on the street. I do recommend Dimitris for a great Greek meal and think you will not be disappointed.

Great food. Speedy service. Well priced. I hadn’t been to dimitris for a few years and decided to go for tea this week. I was not let down. The food was cooked right in front of my eyes and was very fresh. I had a chicken souvlaki and it was the perfect size. I still haven’t quite worked out how to eat them without getting the sauces everywhere yet!

Coming from the uk this is the closest I have had in NZ to a shish kebab. All you need to do is get a portion of chips from next door a can of coke and you’re laughing

The food was fresh and delicious. Please let people know the olives still have the pips in them. I have given you 3 stars because I nearly chipped my tooth with that olive pip.

Amazing, great food, fast service. I like the salad option but the bread is good too. The servings are large and everything is fresh. My favourite fast food by far I would get this over any burger.

Enjoyed both the lamb souvlaki with plenty of pieces of tender tasty lamb, and the falafel souvlaki was delicious also. The fresh salad and tzaziki are the perfect compliment for the meat in the delicious bread wrap.

Dimitris is a great option for a casual quick bite to eat. I've never had a wait over 5 minutes here. I'm gluten intolerant and it was great to see you could get each of the standard souvlaki fillings in a large salad, with all the tasty sauces. I'm really impressed with the serving sizes here as well. You won't leave Dimitris hungry. There's a good amount of seating available so you can eat in as well.

After a couple of years absence, I finally got back to Dimitri's. This used to be one of my favorite takeaways however this trip kinda brought my opinion down a bit. Pita bread was overcooked and half of the meat was burnt enough to be crunchy. Not a great look. Standards appear to have slipped since my last visit. The parts that weren't overcooked were still pretty good though, hence the 3 stars. EDIT: Since my last visit, I have been back again and it looks like my previous experience was just an anomaly. Back to their flavourful best!

20 years ago I got my first taste of this place on the corner of Hereford and Colombo it's real comfort food for me at the time I was a vegetarian and loved their falafel. I miss their old prices so now days dont go back as often because I'm a big eater and a single doesn't do it for me but if I had money I'd eat there every second day its definitely worth it!

Went to Dimitris on Riccarton Rd on a Friday evening and service was quick and friendly and, most importantly, the souvlakis were delicious. We had a single chicken and double lamb and both were full of fillings including lots of meat down to the last bite. Will go back and would recommend!

I've only ever gone to the caravan in central city as the car parking is too terrible for the Riccarton road shop to get to and only fault of the caravan is it closes too early so you can't get it for dinner. Aside from that they are the best Souvlaki's in the city, big chunks of meat that melts in your mouth. Food is delicious! These guys need to get on Uber eats! I know I'd be ordering them on a regular

Have loved this place since I first moved to Christchurch and they had their little food truck at the container mall. I understand their history in Christchurch goes back to bed fire the quakes, and I can understand why they've survived, even through tumultuous time. I've had a LOT of Greek food in my life (especially having worked at Mino's in Kingston Ontario Canada) and the food here is fantastic! Very yummy souvlaki. 🥙 Highly recommended to everyone.

I tried single chicken Souvlaki. Very good portion and quite a good value for money. Chicken is so good that it remain, warm till the last bite. Sauces and salad are exactly in right amount. I'd say best Souvlaki in town.

Would give more than 5 stars if I could. This place is an institution if you come to Christchurch you have to try it! Food is always delicious, large serving sizes and oh so yum! Have been many times and will be back again.

Fantastic restaurant, the best souvlaki in Christchurch, fresh, tasty and the meat is so tender, my go too is the double chicken and lamb, the tenderness and juiciness of the meat cannot be over stated, in the 10+ years I have been getting these souvlaki they have never disappointed and it's great to have a new location in the Riverside market so you can sit out by the river and enjoy

This is my all time favourite souvlaki!! The sauces are so amazing and the veges are very fresh. The breads yummy. The one thing is they ONLY offer souvlaki. No meat on chips or anything?? I may be wrong about that but it’s the only thing they have on their menu.

Great food every time - lamb souvlaki lovely and generous size. It can get busy and there are not a lot of tables, but service is fast and friendly. I will definitely come back.

Dimitri's actually sells suvlaki the Greek way. Opted for lettuce, tomato and tzatziki and it hit the spot I've been missing for years in NZ. Highly recommend.

Dimitris is, and has always been, by far the greatest souvilaki restaurant in christchurch. Even when they were operating out of a van. Always add hot chilli and hummus. So good.

Best sovalaki in Christchurch. The portions of meat and salad you get are great for the amount you pay. All ingredients are fresh and flavourful. Other places can't make better food than this place.

Fond memories of getting Dimitris, in its og location before the earthquakes. Amazing skill and a traditional touch goes into crafting these heavenly morsels, aka. kebabs. The quality of the food is high and it's always fresh. You will never come away disappointed, get extra feta.

If I want a souvlaki I will always get it from dimitris, their fast turnover insures a pretty high chance of getting fresh ingredients. The restaurant is not the cleanest, but what they sell is pretty conducive to take away. Everything they have is highly edible, but not exactly the best quality. But all together it makes a great, not so unhealthy fast food option.

Easily the best souvlaki in Christchurch, if not the whole of NZ. A must-see if you're ever in town. Healthy, delicious, a little bit on the pricy side but easily worth the money for the high quality.

I looooove dimitris souvlakis! I always get chicken and I'm never disappointed. The combination and balance of flavours is so right! The pita is soft and fluffy and none of it goes to waste. I don't eat in as the restaurant is basically tables and chairs with no vibe. The food keeps me coming back. Friendly staff too.

I love the Souvlaki at the container mall but I went to the Riccarton store a few weeks very excited and a blond lady around 7.30 pm served me. The young girl at the counter was lovely but the this lady had terrible costumer service. I asked several times about the falafel as a meal not as souvlaki and if included salads and dressings. When arrived home was SO disappointed. Barely no salad, NO DRESSING, just the poor falafel in the box. Never again ordering the meal.

Had the single lamb souvlaki tonight. Awesome. Tasty succulent lamb. Lashings of tsaziki on the salad. Yum. My wife had chicken but it was a little dry. But still ok.

The girl serving needs a lesson in customer services. Abrupt and rude. Embarrassed another staff member in front of customers because she made a mistake. Sent her out the back. I felt for the young lady. Sort your skills out Maria.

Im a sceptical person when it comes to reading reviews, however i would recommend this place for sure. We had the combination 3 choice platter, very yummy and make sure ur hingry too cause its a big plate.

What an amazing place to get a reasonably priced, reasonably healthy and incredibly delicious meal! We all loved our food. Everything is fresh and the staff are friendly. Highly recommended.

I've had the double portion of lamb, and it was ridiculously delicious. Something with the mix of meat, tzatziki, salad and tomatoes just leaves you with a 'wow!' taste. I would highly recommend it.

My family went to Dimetris while visiting nz on holiday before the earthquake in 2011. We've finally managed to get back years later and it's just as good as we remember. You'll never have a souvlaki as nice as those from Dimitris.

I thought it was going to be a food truck. Anyway, the souvlaki was amazing, the meat and the bread of it were the highlight, that lamb meat is quite flavourful, I almost thought that I was gonna eat it barehands but thanks for the spoon, it wouldve been a messy meal. It's definitely worth the buck, also for the recommendation, nice attempt to impress a new customer, although Id probably just go just double meat of lamb and beef cuz I want my meat to be flavourful while Ill let the person make the souvlaki decide the other toppings. Thanks for the meal, would come back again.

Kleiner Laden mit sehr leckeren Pitataschen. Das Fleisch ist von guter Qualität und sehr zart. Der Salat, die Saucen, das gewürzte Fleisch und das warme Pita-Brot passen perfekt zu einander. Ein geschmackliches Highlight hier in NZ. Preis Leistung passen und das Personal ist sehr nett.
