The food here was amazing, they have a very basic menu in the sense there is a lamb, beef, chicken, vege, pasta and fish option but they do all of their food so well. Everything was absolutely delicious and well cooked. The staff were very friendly and attentive.

Amazing place. Amazing food and the service was really good. FFC is just too good. A bit disappointed with the bao. Didn't enjoy the the combination of Bao and bbq sauce. The creamy mushrooms are to die for🤤

Have had dinner here several times, first time for brunch. Great service, great food. The pancakes would have to be the best I have sampled. Nicely presented and with the perfect ice-cream accompliment, including a finishing touch that sets it above the rest.

We had the best meal here. The food was divine... Great drinks menu and the service was spot on. Loved everything about this place and it will be our favourite Christchurch whenever we visit.

Fabulous food and service. The birds flying around were off putting. They left after 15 minutes thankfully as the waitress said they sometimes try and get the food. I had the angus beef eye fillet and pistachio macaroon which I highly recommend.

A relaxed and enjoyable experience from the moment we walked in. Loved the food, the drinks and the service made our night. Highly recommended!

Organized a farewell dinner plus team get together at Fiddlesticks. The size of the team was 17. Everyone enjoyed the hospitality and the food was so great. Each and everyone of the team mentioned to me that my selection of restaurant was excellent! They do not mind going again!

As restaurants go, the food was stock-standard good and the staff friendly. Would've lived the experience even more if we didn't have to wait for ages to catch someone's attention for a jug of water which wasn't topped up at all considering we had a huge table and ordered a large amount of food. Fine line between getting a 4 or 5 star rating and a 3 star-customer service should be a given.

Quiet Tuesday evening. Excellent service & drinks. Starters, Risotto, Lamb & Deserts were excellent. Tempura Fish wasn’t quite as expected, lovely but probably wouldn’t order it again.

We had a very enjoyable meal tonight. All the meals we ordered were cooked to perfection. The service was outstanding as well.

The steak heat is well mastered. The crispy skin and smooth flesh of salmon are combined with a thin layer of fat, which melts in the mouth. The sweet potato diced as a side dish is also sweet and delicious. Unexpectedly delicious!

Great service and friendly staff. However the sparrow was a bit of a distraction and was stubbornly intent on sharing the food.

We had a lovely anniversary dinner here last night. The service was exemplary and the food top notch. My taste buds were in heaven. I was impressed at the extensive wine selection and we enjoyed a couple of great cocktails too. Highly recommend you try this place. Worth every penny. And at the end we received a complimentary plate with delicious fudge and a pretty chocolate written "Happy Anniversary" which was so sweet.

Great staff great food. Recommend this place for a bottomless brunch as it has 4 options of alcohol breverages. If I had small moan it would be the need of more staff as I had to put my hand up a few times for a refill.

We had our engagement party at fiddlesticks and I have to say we couldn’t have asked for a better evening. The space was beautiful and well set up, the food was amazing and catered to everyone. We also had fantastic service. We had one gentleman with us all evening who seemed to pop up at the right time. I cannot rate the function space highly enough. Thank you team!

Lunch on the 4th of Feb. Cracking ! Lovely fish dish with salmon sausage. Brilliant risotto, and a nice riesling to compliment both dishes. Lovely attentive but not OTT service. Cant fault.

We went for bottomless brunch and it was totally amazing! The service from one of the girls (the one with the little star tattoo) was exceptional, they really go the extra mile! The food was fab and the atmosphere was so nice! Will be back again for sure.

Fantastic. First, a shout out to the great service and hospitality. Friendly waiters and waitresses as well as super invested management. The chefs choice meal was delicious and economical method to enjoy the meal. Standout was the 'Fun Guy' cocktail which was an inventive mix of Chardonnay, bourbon, mushroom, and egg. Would visit again without hesitation to see what else they have up their sleeve.

Fabulous meal out at this City Centre gem! Fiddlesticks has charm, friendly staff and a great menu. Eat outside on the cafe style pavement or inside with a roaring fire for chilly nights, this stylish restaurant ticks all the boxes. Great for couples or groups, the staff are professional and attentive, the menus are carefully created using the freshest ingredients, with surprising twists on popular dishes. Highly recommended. Leave room for one of their sumptuous desserts!!!!

We chanced upon this restaurant as it was near our hotel. The pork belly was exquisite....the skin was nice and crispy ( YUMMM) and was well seasoned. My wife had the scallops and it was also very well done. Cheers to our last meal in Christchurch.

We recently had a nice lunch at Fiddlesticks, finding this to be a cozy, nice venue dishing out quality meals. Opening Hours are 8am to late each evening. During our lunch we tried the BBQ lamb sandwich that was very good. The lamb was tender, succulent and tasted great with the bbq sauce. We also had the Daily fish special, a nice grouper fillet with an assortment of tasty greens. This was an intelligently constructed main with real flavour. For dessert we shared the Chocolate torte served with cherry compote and sorbet. We found the sorbet to tarty for this dessert but did really enjoy the torte with cherry compote. Overall, a pretty good dessert. In the end, we were quite happy with our lunch a Fiddlesticks. This feels like a quality restaurant option for those looking for places to dine at during time spent in Christchurch. Based on our experience, we'd gladly eat here again.

Beautiful dishes. It was a bit more crowded than I would have liked, but there is always a good atmosphere. Staff are friendly, service quick and food tasty!

My partner and I have been a few times and we love it! The food is amazing, and the waiters/tresses are always checking in and making sure we are happy. I’m a coeliac so it’s not always the easiest finding safe places to eat out - I always feel well taken care of here! There are also plenty of gluten free options to choose from. Thankyou!

Very handy location in the middle of the city. Good food and nice cafe bar which is licensed to sell alcohol. The premises are quite upmarket and it has a nice atmosphere. I got involved taking photos inside and wandered outside to take photos from the street. The waitress thought I was doing a runner which was by no means the intention. Just a wee bit disappointed that I was made to feel guilty when it was truly an honest mistake through what I would imagine to be lack of good communication. Nonetheless Fiddlesticks is certainly a good venue with good food and good service. You most definitely should try Fiddlesticks out it is well worth it.

Great food and a great space. The risotto was outstanding and the lamb in the Scottish BAP was so tender it just melted. The staff were attentive and friendly.

First time we have eaten here and it was lovely. Great food, service and atmosphere. Even brought out a lovely plate with "Happy Anniversay" on it which was a lovely surprise and nice touch. Would thoroughly recommend.

Keith and the team at Fiddlesticks never disappoint. We dined there a week or so ago to celebrate several family birthdays and as always the food was superb, service brilliant and atmosphere amazing! Even catered well for the kids in the group which is not always easy at a higher end restaurant. Also having multiple food intolerances would be a hassle for most restaurants, but not chef and his brilliant team. We even got a special dessert which was amazing! It's why we keep coming back :)

The most delicious garlic sauced steak I've ever eaten and found a very nice beer that I liked. Pan Head super charged... very nice and mild.

Food was good, service was good. Ambience was good. All worthy of 4.5 stars, and nothing wrong, so rounding up to 5 stars. Meal portion sizes were adequate, not large.

Going out for breakfast here was an absolute treat. The food was very good and the staff were great. They even went out of their way to help a group of tourists in answering questions and helping them map their journey. It was true customer service and we will definitely be coming back.

First time I have been there - and it didn't disappoint. Lovely staff, attentive and friendly. Food was delicious. Definitely go there again. I also love the wine glass level indicators. My 'large' glass of pinot noir amounted to the 'TGIF' level.

Excellent food you can rarely have. I strongly recommend salmon over the others. That’s one of best in my life. Staffs are also nice. Good for family too!

Superb restaurant, loads of Gluten free options, super professional wait staff and no problems explaining menus, specials ect, this would have to be one of the best restaurants I've ever been to there were 9 of us and a 4 year old and the 4 year was treated as well with special dessert, colour pencils and pictures even there own menu, wow! Next time in Christchurch I'll definitely be going back, we'll done team and thanks for a wonderful night celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary.

Loved the food, drinks and atmosphere at Fiddlesticks. We went there for brunch on a wet weekend and it was very cosy. I had the bacon and egg buttie, which was very tasty and had a great chutney and coleslaw too. I also had a Belgian hot chocolate, chocolate and hot milk which is exactly how I like my hot chocolate. It was rich and indulgent and great quality for money, I loved it. My partner had the corned beef hash which was ok but a little bland, but his coffee was good.

Ordered their weekend special of 700g of chateaubriand for sharing and also another pan fried salmon. Steak was tender and juicy....salmon was cooked nicely with the skin crispy. Price was very reasonable as well. We also had the fried chicken with cauliflower, the chicken was a little too dry for my liking although seasoning was good, the cauliflower was good. Wish they had an option of just having the deep fried cauliflower instead.

Wonderful cosy atmosphere. Super friendly staff. The bread absolutely delicious. The only thing I found interesting is at the far end of the restaurant there is a downward inclined mirror on the wall, which put on display all the goings on of the tables under it. It was amusing to me, but I’m not sure I’d be happy with the things I’m looking up on my phone being visible to the whole restaurant.

Wow wow wow, I can't speak highly enough of this place! The food is just simply amazing. And the service is great too. On the occasion that a mistake is made, they are quick to apologise and remedy it. Prices are on the upper end, but for what you get, it is totally worth it. Upon mentioning we were out to celebrate our wedding anniversary, we were presented with a lovely plate to say happy anniversary with an absolutely amazing little dessert bite for each of us. I am really looking forward to coming back.

We had a really wonderful evening here recently, for a family birthday dinner! Two of our group have serious food allergies and these were attended to so calmly and professionally by the fantastic wait staff and kitchen staff. The food was superb and the wine & beer selections great. The warm smiles and discrete & attentive service contributed to our celebration. Please keep up the outstanding work , as I will be back! After all, there are stunning desserts to be had :)

Must try is the tofu with rice and beans on chilly sauce. Love it love it love it! Another dish which I ordered was a potted fish(etc) , forgot the complete name. Its good as a snack with wine but doesn't suffice as a meal.

Had breakfast there recently for a special birthday. Food was lovely, service was great. We had also been there about 6 months ago with a mixed group of adults & children for an evening meal, everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal & the service was excellent. Another nice spot for a wine in the sun! Pleasant staff, a decent menu and wine selection too. The tram travels right past which is cool, and we really liked the quirky pour measurements on the wine glasses!

a couple of us went out for mothers day, we were really impressed with the meals and the service we received. one of our party is gluten and dairy intolerant, they were very well looked after with the staff explaining each meal on the menu and what the could exchange the different cheeses with etc. we will most certainly be going back there again.

Came in for a cocktail and beer on a cold day. Fast and friendly service and delicious funky cocktail. There was a fire inside and they were playing an old black and white film on tv without sound. Really cool vibes

Enjoyed a wonderful dinner here. The service of the restaurant is the best service we have ever experienced in Christchurch and New Zealand as a whole. The food is so delicious. The two of us shared a feast. The portion of the food was just right and the taste was amazing.

My 40th was a disaster in 2011 due to the earthquakes and my marriage ending. So I was determined that my 50th was going to be amazing. The team at Fiddlesticks went out of their way to ensure my huge list of dietary requirements due to health issues were catered for and the food was delicious. All my guests loved their flavour some meals, the presentation was top notch. The service by Tuesday and the other staff made the night so enjoyable. The little touches of keeping my flowers in the chiller till I left, giving me a bag for presents that I was not expecting all just made the night so much more special. If you need a lovely place for a celebration fiddlesticks is definitely the place that should be the place your book without hesitation. Its classy, but not snobby, food that gets your taste buds going on a journey demanding more and a drinks list any restaurant would be envious of.

Birthday dinner for my husband did not disappoint at Fiddlesticks. From the moment we entered we were greeted by front of house who guided us to our table and let us know the name of our waitress for the evening. Attendance was quick and polite and we were told about the specials for the night. Great election of drinks on offer and the food was fresh and so tasty. The sea food in particular did it for me. I highly recommend eating here and can't wait to visit again.

Fusion food place where most of the dishes are creatively created. I liked the fish dish tt I ordered which was a Japanese take on fish and chips. There's mixed feelings for other dishes that my friends ordered. But generally food is decent.

We were a group of 4 and have dined here before. We wanted somewhere nice for an occasion and chose Fiddlesticks. Once again we were not disappointed with our choice. Food was delicious and beautifully presented. Nice atmosphere. Waitresses were efficient without being annoying. Highly recommend. We will be back....again !!

My husband and I went for dinner on my birthday and the food was amazing and cooked to perfection! I had the scallops to start and a rib eye steak for main and my husband had the brisket croquettes to start and the lamb shoulder for main. The staff were great and the atmosphere in the restaurant was very inviting and comfortable. Well worth a visit.

Great restaurant for lunch, outdoor seating available, disable and pram accessible through front door. Super friendly waiting staff, helpful in ordering and quick table service, extremely friendly to young kids, would definitely go back again.

Ordered the half chicken /half califlour but charged for only ordered chicken which we weren't given option to do only 2$ more and had voucher so didn't complain too much. But meal was good. left along too so was nice staff were okay.

Great place for a private function. Has a separate area which could be closed off and held around 40 people very comfortably with adequate seating and tables, with plenty of room to stand as well. Food supplied was tasty and bar service was great.

Good food. The atmosphere inside and outside was fantastic. The staff were friendly. The wine I know has a standard, as to how much they put in a glass but for what it was worth, I think they could have put a little but more because at that price I could have bought the whole bottle at the supermarket. Hence, the 4 stars.

The food was really delicious, we had the chicken salad for a main with bbq jackfruit as an entrée. It was very busy and yet we had all our mains and delightful desserts served and finished in an hour. I had the almond creme brulee and it was divine, I should have paired it with a nice glass of Amaretto. My only downside would be value for quantity. All though nicely seasoned and very delicious I felt that the amount of chicken in my salad didn't reflect the price of the meal. All up it was an enjoyable meal and great place for a date night.

Great little place with a solid menu. Food was both delicious and beautiful. Everything was very professionally handled by our server, who was attentive, speedy and caring. We shared a french onion soup and salad to start. The soup absolutely hit the spot and the salad was a delicious contrast to it. Then we both had fish dishes which were terrific. Again well prepared and paired with their sides and garnishing. Really glad we went there!

We visited fiddlesticks on Saturday night with a booking at 8 - it was a lovely atmosphere and the staff were very friendly and efficient it took a little long for the meals to come out but it was worth the wait. Thank you for an enjoyable evening.

Great restaurant! I celebrated my six-month relationship with my boyfriend in the restaurant and I had a wonderful night. I loved the bread and cocktails, soup was great too. And your service was just amazing, you’re so friendly with the smiles and lovely suggestions. Definitely I’ll be there soon hahaha

We dined post-show at Fiddlesticks on Saturday night. It was a busy night for them which did show a little in the bustle and the team did a great job at managing it all. We enjoyed shared plates including the brisket croquettes and the manchego, prosciutto & peaches, the latter being a stand out. The fried chicken was delicious as always & himself enjoyed the duck fat potatoes with confit garlic the best. We had the pleasure to be served by the operations manager, who was delightful. Now where’s the link to that loyalty card?

Only had a light snack but the ceviche was good, potatoes very average, but would definitely go back to try more

My food was accidentally sent to another table as they had ordered the same thing. The other order who got delivered my food was at least 15 mins behind me... So I had to wait a little longer than perhaps expected but not by much. However, fiddlesticks did have my food ready very soon after, even in regards to the mix up... It happens. But they complimented my entire meal, (which was delicious). Would go back again. They own their mistakes, apologies and went well beyond expectations. Had it not been for the slight mix up, I would still have rated them high, the service was amazing. Food was exceptional. But because of the mix up, they went well beyond expectation to a degree we hardly see in Chch... 6/5 review if I could.

My husband and I just had the best meals we've had in a while. I ordered the lamb tagine and he had the Salmon. Both were delicious and the staff were super friendly and efficient.

Had one of the best big breakfast here and coffee was great.

We went for our Xmas dinner for my Mum as we live in Auckland. This place is a must go for dinner as the food is outstanding and the service 2nd to none. Great with children also. And all at a reasonable prices. Would highly recommend for any occasion.

63rd birthday treat. The staff were great and the food and drink everybody had was excellent. Good ambience. A very pleasant night. They even bought out a little birthday cake. Worth 4.5 stars, not sure how to do a half star.

Nice location in the city, very busy. We sat outside but felt a little left-out by the staff. We were only offered water as we had finished our meals. The food was mediocre and over priced. Staff were friendly enough, but felt a little too up-market for a Sat lunch and drink. We had the BBQ lamb sandwiches, they were more like a burger and the bread was dry.

Absolutely loved this place, took my partner for a lovely dinner the staff were super professional and super helpful. There was a large range of alcoholic beverages to suit anyone's tastes, I was very pleasantly surprised by the selection of whiskey in particular. The place has a fantastic atmosphere and is great for dates. Very romantic settings The food surpassed all expectations and was to die for. The steak was beautifully cooked and the sides were all very nice as well. Overall I would highly recommend eating here and I will 100% be eating here again!

3rd time we have dined here and absolutely love the food, location and staff. Was a special occasion as attending my daughter’s Graduation from UC and did not disappoint! Will be returning next time we are in Christchurch for sure.

Arrived late Sunday afternoon, they don't do a full menu till 5:30 which didn't fit our schedule so we went elsewhere. Looked good though and the girls were friendly and understanding.

Great brunch for two birthday gals! Had a wonderful time, the food was excellent and the bubbles flowed throughout our time there. Would recommend this to anyone who wished to celebrate something special or just a fun get together

Lovely restaurant with a great atmosphere and ambience. Really nice meals - just not a very big menu range, but the meals we chose were beautiful. Very nice staff and very accommodating - we went with no booking and a toddler and it was great. Will definitely be going back to try some more meals :)

We took our staff to Fiddlesticks for our Xmas Function and although they were extremely busy the staff went out of their way to make our night perfect. the food is always Really great! I love that they have a dedicated gluten and dairy free menu. The only downside ive found here is that their vegetarian options can be quite limited. But I went with a taster plate with a side of veggies and it worked out well.

A school holiday treat as both myself and the kids enjoy coming here. My son enjoys the old films. I love the liver pare with crostini side /bar snack but deducted a star because they've swapped the awesome, tart piccalilli that went with it for a mushy, sweet peach chutney. Please change it back, if it ain't broke, don't fix it!

This is a really great restaurant. When I ordered my meal, which I had had several times before, I didn't notice they had changed the sauce and when I tried it I really didn't like it. Even though the fault was mine they replaced my meal free of charge with a new one, sans sauce and then also didn't charge us for one of our side dishes. The manager also checked in with us and our waitress was wonderful. The best service and the food is delicious. Highly recommended.

We arrived without a reservation on a Saturday evening. We were offered a table outdoors with the promise of heating. The heater was placed right beside us and we were warm and comfy all evening. The food was excellent and the service was great. We enjoyed a very relaxing time.

Nice restaurant about 5 minutes walk from Cathedral Square across Worcester Blvd from Christchurch Art Gallery. I just popped in as I was heading back to my hotel. They have a formal dining area, outside tables, and a bar style eating area. Quite a varied menu of meat and fish dishes, starters, and tasting dishes. I had Pumpkin Soup followed by Lamb Shoulder, the lamb was particularly nice. Service was excellent, very friendly. Price was good for a 2 course evening meal with a drink, approx $62.

Went for bottomless brunch. Was a nice atmosphere with great food, great service and endless bubbles. Great place to catch up with friends.

Service was definitely below average though. Waitresses seemed like they didn't want to be there, staff weren't attentive, was a real effort to get water (I think they are a "classy establishment" so don't allow water jugs on tables - I'm fine with that if staff refill your water more than once in a whole night). Its a shame as the food was pretty good, though modest in serve size the food was 5/5 quality.

Took friend for lunch. I had BBQ lamb burger, friend had tempura fish. My burger arrived, on a board, with a small cast iron dish of shoestring chips. I hate getting a meal on a hunk of wood, a fad I hope disappears and soon, been over it for awhile now, it adds nothing to a meal and hard to cut anything on it. Burger tasted nice, not much in it but lamb was lovely, but lettuce to large to eat. Easily eat. Friend said first but of fish was mainly batter second piece was better. Came with a sauce and salad really? Lettuce on a plate is not salad. He had small portion of pickled carrots plus fries as well . At $25 not good value for money. Service was good. Didn't say if tap water was filtered, it should be. Probably wouldn't go back.

The food is delicious and the service is great. The pork belly is cooked to perfection, the meat is juicy and tender with a sliver of fat, topped with a thin roasted crispy crust of skin. The restaurant is filled with the laughter of happy diners enjoying their meals and drinks, served up by the cheerful waiters.

My partner and I are from Australia. We went to fiddlesticks rest and loved it. Staff was attentive and very nice. Food and drinks are lovely. We booked online a reservation and got a table within a hour with our requests. We recommend anyone to go there as the atmosphere is great.

We had a team dinner on a Monday night. It was an amazing experience. Good food, large portions, good service! Plenty of choices for everyone including vegetarians like me.

This meal was far from my expectations given the positive reviews online. Not sure what happened to the people who gave 5 stars below. We were seated by a loud Christmas party group, which isn’t the restaurants fault...but the food was not good. The pork belly was so tough and dry. I had one bite and my jaw was sore and tired of eating it. The potatoes had no skins but the outside has this thick hard layer on the outside that made them even hard to cut with the knife. The inside was soft so they just bulged. The steak was the only decent part of this meal, but still nothing amazing. Regret eating here - recommend you try somewhere else to avoid the disappointment.

She got the market fish and I had the soup of the day and a spinach and walnut salad. The food was good and the service was friendly. She especially enjoyed her fish, which was a white flushed fish, served in a tomato broth with an olive tapenade on top.We didn't have reservations but we're seated promptly. I had to run past this restaurant earlier in the afternoon and noticed many outside enjoying a beer or wine and the local sunshine.

We had a brilliant ANZAC Day - early morning breakfast at Fiddlesticks, great place, great food, great service and we'll be back again next year after dawn parade.

Brilliant experience, we had two young kiddies and yet still had a good time as the staff gave out pens and puzzles while we had time to relax with vino. Oh and the food was delicious.

Delicious, fresh, top quality food at reasonable prices and excellent friendly service. We were in when the news of the Christchurch shootings began to emerge and they were wonderful: calm, comforting and compassionate. They closed the restaurant (the city was in lockdown) but welcomed customers to stay as long as they wanted and showed real concern about their safety. An excellent restaurant with staff who go the extra mile.

Fiddlesticks is an excellent restaurant and dining experience. My wider family (aged 7-70) dined there and were given the royal treatment. We were celebrating my recent job promotion and restaurant provided a wonderful dining experience personally tailored to my family. The waitress was extremely polite, friendly and knowledgeable. The food was outstanding... my Dad and I shared a massive platter of treats. The bar staff were fun and fast at making the drinks for us all. My sons were able to watch the bar tender prepare Sangria and chatted with the bartender. They have a great range of spirits and cocktails. I would definitely dine there again because Fiddlesticks offers the complete dining package experience. The atmosphere of the restaurant is great too... well designed and decorated. The venue boasts excellent location by the arts district of the city... right by the museum and arts centre and Hagley Park. I would recommend this place to tourists wanting a top level dining experience.... many of the dishes reflect the Kiwi cuisine and rival anything I've eaten in London, Sydney and Hong Kong. The prices of each dish match the quality of the food. You're not getting ripped off I promise you! Huge thanks to all the team.

Best pork belly I’ve had in a long time. Service was excellent

Saw the great reviews and went for lunch. Would say the food is overrated. Fish of the day we ate was mediocre and starters like the Fried chicken we ordered was too unimpressive. Only the duck pappardelle was worth the try. I see reviews also copied and pasted below with exact words. So I cast my aspersions on the quality and validity of the reviews

Food was exceptional, I had the chicken supreme which was cooked to perfection, however, the service is a little lacking and disappointing. During my experience, I was not once asked how my meal was, my empty glass was not topped up while the table next to mine had there's topped up and politely asked how everything was. Even up to the point I finished my meal, no one came to take the plates away or over me the dessert menu or for the bill. It was as though I didn't exist. This kind of experience leaves a bad taste and frankly what could have turned out to be a pleasant evening left me walking away annoyed and disappointed.

The food was absolutely amazing, service was top notch 👌. We had the salmon and steak.

Four of us had dinner on Saturday night restaurant was full our starter and entree came out together so was rushed to eat it as the entree was hot both these were bland and unseasoned. I had salmon for a main it was not good I cook it way better myself very disappointing it was sloppy and the skin was facing up undercooked few small spuds on the plate bland no seasoning again lacking in flavours all round, service was good until a bus tour arrived, couldn’t get water, we spent $400 so wouldn’t go again

Everything about this place was great but the best thing was the wait staff. The guy that worked with us was simply amazing and all of us being employers said we would hands down employ him!!!! Thank you for an awesome night!!!

Staff were brilliant. Very friendly and knowledgeable of everything on menu. Fried chicken wonderful. Had seafood special of gurnard and prawns on bed of soba noodles - Delicious! They had Black Dog beers on tap. First time I've tried and not to be missed.

Amazing place. Staff are incredibly lovely and attentive and the food was absolutely stunning. We had a 21st dinner there and nothing was a problem. They went over and above and we had an incredible night.

Great food. One of our best meals in NZ. Oysters were the best I have had anywhere and that is saying a lot as I get them all over. We also had Papardelle with lamb and white bean ragu. It was unusual and very tasty. We sat on the middle porch (half in and half outside) which was quite and comfortable. We enjoyed it because it was cool on a hot day.

While seemingly one of the more classy restaurants in the city it is also one of the nicest, with friendly staff, fantastic food and a well stocked bar with pretty of cozy spots to relax and enjoy; inside and out. They are always happy to cater for everyone from royalty to tourists, backpackers and friendly dogs. :)

Dont normally leave a review but our experience was just amazing. From entrees to main to desserts. It was just fantabulous. Still thinking about the food/service up to this day. The waiter was very lovely and amazing. Cant remember his name but he's the new guy!! Will come back again.

We had dinner here the day after new years and felt very looked after. Our server David was very personable and took good care of us. Food and drink was good but the service was excellent.

If I could give 4 and half stars I would, but feel 4 is unfair, so have gone with 5. Been here twice now, first time was for a beer and a bar snack, was a great place to chill in the early evening. Great service, and very warm, inviting atmosphere in the bar. The second time was for lunch in the restaurant. Same thing, service was amazing and the ambiance was great! Even though they were a little busy, the food came out fast. The food was impeccable for the price. Obviously not perfect, but to say it's not perfect I am being very picky, hence preferring a 4 and a half star review. The food was full of flavour, great size (not overbearing, nor small), well presented and well seasoned (which I am a stickler for). My partner's meal was perfect, couldn't fault the smoked mushroom risotto. I had the bbq lamb sandwich, came in a nice pide Turkish bread. The only reason it wasn't perfect is that it came with French fries, again I am being very picky, but some nice homemade cut chips would have made it perfect. I highly recommend this bar and restaurant for a relaxing drink or a meal. Great price, great service, great atmosphere!

When I was told the fries were cooked in fresh oil, changed daily, I could tell this place cared about food. Our shoestring fries and other snacks were excellent. As was the super friendly service. Great for children and grownups alike.

Great high end restaurant with very creative dishes, and decent table service. You may feel out of place without pants and a collar or a dress. We had the Feast of the Night dish, which included lamb shoulder and a number of other perfectly cooked sides. They also have a fantastic selection of wines from to choose, the alcohol menu includes like 4 pages of just wine. Would recommend for a taste of the finer side of New Zealand.

Excellent restaurant in Christchurch city centre. If you are not going in summer season, you have some heaters at the terrace which make it so comfy. The food is absolutely stunning, good looking and better tasting. We order the lamb croquettes + scalops + salmon = 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤 Highly reccommended!

I've been there many times and each time I had different dish (look at photos that I've taken 😁, isn't delicious). Anyway, the interior layout is well set up with normal dining seating and bar tables with high chairs. The place is well lit during the day and this place has a relax vibe. Overall, it was a good experience from this restaurant. Good portion sizes. This is a child-friendly restaurant. This is a licensed (🍻🍸🍷🍾🍹🍺) eatery and not a BYO. There is a very limited outdoor seating. Off street parking 🅿 only. They accept cash and EFTPOS including credit card payments (Paywave payments are available, for those who want to know). Food was brilliant, superbly cooked and tasted fantastic but the salmon portion was very small. I would recommend the staff suggest side orders, or explain there are no substantial accompaniments. The fried chicken was served with a small pipette of hot sauce, this felt like they were trying to be cool, where as all you want is a bottle of hot sauce on the table to dollop all over!

10/10 our meal was DELICIOUS!! A nice spot in the city centre it made for a very wonderful evening. Recommend trying the feast for two! Our service was a bit slow, but we were in no hurry so it didn’t bother us much and it was nice to have table service.

My daughter is a coeliac, the staff were amazing and knew what was safe for her to eat. The chef is also a coeliac so that made me feel less concerned about the risk of cross contamination. The food and coffee were lovely.

Had a lovely meal with my partner, we had the feast for 2people , steak,pepper sauce, side dish of baby spinach salad and roasted in duck fat potatoes , yum!! With a nice glass of wine. Very nice for that special evening meal.

I've eaten here before and enjoyed my prior experience. This time not as much. The ffc signature fried chicken was dry and too crumbly. I also had capsicum soup which was just ok and the fish of the day which was just ok. Service was friendly and reasonably prompt. Perhaps on a different day with different dishes it would be better. I'd likely return given its universally high rating.

I ordered a voucher from Fiddlesticks and unfortunately it did not arrive in the expected time frame. I let their admin team know and Keith was extremely helpful and drove to deliver the voucher to me personally alongside some free drink vouchers. Thanks a bunch! I am extremely grateful of Keith's efforts and will definitely come back :)

The Restaurant was warm and welcoming but for any business to achieve this it cannot rely on tasteful decor and comfortable surroundings alone ,they have to have staff that support the same principles and Fiddlesticks have achieved this . The staff were extremely professional while making us feel at home . Martin our waiter offered us excellent advice and saw to our every need . The food was excellent with good portion sizes.Every dish was an absolute testament to the the chefs skill and understanding of taste combinations

Best meal of our holiday. Fitted us in even though no reservation. Adapted dishes for husband who has a food allergy without any fuss and even served a delicious dessert (he can never find something on the menu except sorbet or fruit). Quite expensive but highly recommended

Food was fab but service wasn't... a quiet Friday afternoon and struggled to get an order in. It also seemed a bit of an inconvenience to request gluten free items on the menu as it did not stipulate.

The food was nice. It does get busy later in the evenings. The only issue I had with my experience was that my dessert was accidentally swapped with another customers

Mixed review. Group of four went here and when walked in got rudest waitress ever and if we didn't have a couple of free drink vouchers we would've walked straight out again. "What do you want" isn't normally how you greet customers, when said we just were having drinks told we can sit in bar area (after big sigh, since we such an inconvenience) then just left us to find a table ourselves. I would give her a one star and wish I had her name as never been talked down to like that ever in a chch cafe/restaurant (shortish, glasses) However when eventually a diff came and took our order was was super lovely and redeemed the restaurant, even bringing out extra jetplane when one of us joked how hot drinks get them not fair we don't get one with our drinks. Once again wish I had her name as she needs a raise and would love her manager to know she turned our experience around. Food here is pricey, and small portions.

Really nice, cosy atmosphere, friendly staff and good wine selection. The only downside is that they seem unable to stock up on popular vintages, so quiet few of them were sold out. I think that if the fellowship of the ring dined in there, they would walk out satisfied.

A great place to go for modern New Zealand cuisine. Excellent quality ingredients and very professional staff. Wine and beer selection is very good too. If you want some quality kiwi food it’s a must visit.

No fiddlesticksing in Fiddlesticks. They take flavours and food very seriously. And it works. Amazing presentation, sophisticated flavours, great food. Wrapped with a modern design decor and great service - what more can you ask for in a good restaurant... I know - reasonable prices - well, they have that too :) for me it's a winner!

Great little pub for this small town, has a billiards, some slot machines and okay priced beer. I did hear some lovely things about the food from other guests though. The owner is a bit rough around the edges, but all in all a pretty funny guy.

Had new years eve dinner here and it was fantastic. Steak was cooked perfectly. Great entrees too. Enjoyed it so much we came back on new years day to try their breakfast.

early spring, raining and windy outside,but warm cozy inside. feel quite comfortable. spent sometime drinking here. love portted fish. lightly smoked salmon whisked with cream and fresh lemon juice, great balance.

Great experience! We tried to get a table without reservation and got one after about 20min at the bar. All servers were really nice and seemed to like their job. The food and wines were really good, too!

Great food and drinks, very nice staff. Great place to eat lunch while exploring the Arts Centre, Art Gallery or the Botanic Gardens. The out door street area is great for after work drinks or dinner as it gets the evening sun.

Always good meals and great service here. Catering for anything from a coffee and muffin, to Bar meals to lovely dining experience. Lovely meals and beautiful presentation.

Called in on mothers day. Not booked no problem for staff. Found us a table. Service was excellent, meals well presented. Waitress had an excellent knowledge of food and drinks.

The staff was a bit indifferent. The food was great (the daily soup was a treat), the serving of mussels was really great although the serving size was a bit small. Overall a nice experience though.

Went to fiddlesticks for lunch to reveal the sex of our baby after our 19week scan. The service was amazing, the food delishious and we were very cozy sitting in front of the fire. To top it off we got a special congratulations desert from the chef. It was just perfect, very special, thanks very much.

Overall enjoyable evening,comfortable and pleasant ambience ,only dampener was fish dish overcooked, good fish spoiled by cooking to long means that it has no .moisture and loses flavour;lamb dish was cooked to perfection and full of flavour, couldn't fault it at all;great staff and good service;,definitely recommended.

My favourite restaurant in Christchurch. Wonderful fine dining and beautifully laid out seating areas. Love the 'living wall', especially. A really special experience.

Great coffee and good friendly service from staff. Good opening hours compared to a lot of coffee shops in the inner city area. Also a good location for sitting in the nice warm sun and watching the tram go buy.

Nice interior, tasty food. The portions are quite big. Fast Wi-Fi. The only disadvantage is long food waiting time. We waited for the food ~40 mins when the restaurant was almost empty. I assume it's even worse when the restaurant is full.

Friendly staff who let us in even without booking. Akaroa salmon dish was to die for. Daughter had her dish adjusted to vegan which was very nice seeing ours was last minute. Recommended

Love this place for dinner and relaxed atmosphere for drinks. Great location beside the Christchurch Art Gallery and Art Centre. The tram also goes right past the front door!

I can never fault the food and dining experience here, its always excellent!

My wife and I came here during our honeymoon trip and I figured this place would be quite good place for a romantic dinner but it turned out to be a very casual experience. The service was good but the Salmon Tadaki was just medicore at best. Wont be coming back again for dinner. Maybe for brunch or light supper it would be ok.

I'd give it 5 stars but I just don't give anyone 5 stars. There's nothing to say except it was exceptional all round. Good ambience. Great food.

Wow, it could have been the jet lag but the Fillet Steak was perfect! Juicy and perfectly pink (ordered medium), complemented deliciously with mushrooms and sausage, and washed down with a glass of their premium selected Wooing Tree Pinot Noir (surprisingly full bodied). Service was friendly, prompt, and the decor and mood of the place is classy, yet relaxed. Definitely recommended.

Craft Beers were good. Today's main dish was not bad, but it seems to be not so fresh fish from market. waitress were also busy. can not cover and serve all tables. should employ more or reduce table. you shouldn't go during chinese new year. occupied by them.... i have no idea where to eat during CNY. buy something and eat in my room ...

We visited the restaurant on our last night in Christchurch and had a really enjoyable meal. The Canterbury Lamb Shoulder was cooked to perfection and the service was just right. Highly recommended.

I had dinner on a Thursday night with a friend who I have dinner with every 6 weeks or so. We generally go somewhere different each time and usually in the more expensive price bracket. The atmosphere was lovely,warm and elegant without being overly formal. Our waitress was very professional and friendly as were the bar staff. I had the porcini mushroom ragout pasta with duck confit which was the best pasta dish I've ever had, fantastic flavor and just the right size portion. I also had a side dish of pear, pecorino and greens which was also wonderful. I never usually order pasta in restaurants and I'm not that fussed on mushrooms but that dish was one of the most enjoyable I've had in a long time. Thanks Fiddlesticks I'll be back.

Keith and the team are always so hospitable, friendly and efficient. We host a weekly business meeting in their private room and have always been looked after well, even at 7am! Service like this is sadly a rarity but such a credit to Fiddle Sticks. So for this I salute you! :-)

Went last week for 6th birthday celebrations. Had the most delicious tempura gopher & a glass of Pol Roger for $20. Also had the Fig & Forest cocktail special...had to have a second. Yum.

A pretty good meal although it felt a bit overpriced. It's certainly popular with the locals but I couldn't help feeling a bit judged while I was in there. The space is a bit crowded as well so I didn't feel like it was a good place for a quiet conversation.

Different and delicious food combinations, love the decor. I've been here a few times - after work for drink and tapas, dinner and lunch and the service is always really good. The 'gorgonzola' crumb on the parpadelle is why we ordered this dish but couldn't taste any gorgonzola at all and the goat cheese dish sounded awesome but in fact the gingerbread was dry like it was not freshly made... the highlight was definitely the deconstructed cos salad. In the evening the salmon wings, croquettes, scallops and chicken were to die for! REALLY good wine glasses too.

The dictionary tells us that "fiddlesticks" means to express disagreement or to say that something is nonsense. Nothing could be further from the truth at this amazing dining experience in Christchurch. Fabulous food, an attention to detail and a memory to enjoy forever, we loved it!
