My favourite vegan spot in Ōtautahi Christchurch. Their tofu is next level amazing, and they have a small, but we'll curated selection of beer, wine, and non-alcoholic drinks. They also have a great deli section with vegan cheese, vegan cold cuts and different milks/spreads/sauces. They also sell vegan stock which is very yummy. Check them out!

Wonderful, delicious, imaginative. Just love this place. The food is a real treat, the atmosphere is unpretentious and welcoming and service is friendly, quick and efficient. The kft plate is a family favourite of ours and we will ensure we return to eat our way around the menu! The coffee is also delightful and being able to buy specialty vegan supplies is a bonus. Our go to vegan restaurant 😁👍

Nice place to chill on weekend. Great vegan food and plenty of drinks. The only vegan croissant source in Chch I know of right now and great coffee make perfect light combo. Vegan phush and chups are very nice for a bigger bite or to share.

This place has some great vegan food! They have a cool little deli section with plant based cheese and plant based meats, plus an assortment of sandwiches and things. Cool relaxed atmosphere. Possibly the best little coffee house in Christchurch. I cannot recommend highly enough.

We came here on our trip around the South Island as I have been following them for a while online. I was very excited to try the food! We came on a Saturday but there weren't too many staff on and a large group came in just before us. Unfortunately they appeared to be stretched quite thinly so weren't too prompt to take orders, bring drinks etc. I think if you're coming here don't be in a rush and just sit and enjoy the leisurely pace. Once the drinks and meals came out they were absolutely delicious and worth the wait. The meals are really reasonably priced too.

We booked online for a work lunch and enjoyed our lunches there today. We are from all walks of "eating life" from vegans to meat eaters and we all loved our meals. Recommended if you are trying to cater for all types of dietary needs, the meat eaters should find the food tasty while those with specific food requirements will be kept happy.

I've recently moved down to Christchurch and was unsure of what places are vegan-friendly. Luckily someone recommended Grater Goods as it surpassed any expectations I might have had. The customer service was excellent, the food was absolutely delicious and the store itself is quite charming and beautifully organized.

Amazing place! It doesn't look anything like that from the outside. It is connected to an antique, with internal entrance. Ample parking Off Street. Staff was super friendly to children, we were seated upstairs for extra space and privacy and were given a bucket of toys our 3 year old could play with. Easy to understand menu with a French twist. It is a Vegan restaurant, but I enjoyed so much not being a vegan. They newly developed a none alcoholic Kombucha, with a strawberry taste that was best for a hot day like today. They don't use refine sugar in any of their cooking, which is an added bonus. Everything is made in house. From bread to cakes to mushroom parfait, it was just amazing. Highly recommend and will definitely return.

This was super tasty! The bakun was incredible, really good flavours and the GG sauce really complimented the taste of the chickun. Service - amazing. Made to feel welcome straight away and by all staff (even those working in the kitchen greeted us as we walked in!) Only thing I'd say is it would have been good to see a bit more to the salad in the burger otherwise would have been a firm 5 star :)

This place a little off the beaten track but it has amazing food!! The KFT is a must try. Make room for dessert because the slices are to die for. With a 100% plant based menu you can't go wrong.

Every time we go there with high expectations and every visit they're met! Delicious plan based food. Our all time favourites are the Reuben Sandwich: "cheese", sauerkraut, chewy plant pastrami on toasted wholegrain toast w salad and the Goods Burger that convinces everyone! Before yesterday I had only been to Grater Goods for coffee - which was superb. Good coffee and cool place to sit. Yesterday I was so thankful that my friend encouraged me to get food for lunch as well - because me oh my it was the best food I've eaten in a looong time. Thoroughly impressed. Have already told multiple people to come here and can't wait to go on a Wednesday evening for some live tunes! xxx

Really enjoyed my first visit, I'll come again when I visit Christchurch, even though I'm not vegan. Matika (sorry not sure of spelling!) is a superstar server, best service I've had in ages. Friendly, helpful and professional. The Reuben was great, so huge, and my London Fog chai and walnut brownie were not "needed", I just wanted a sweet treat! Got some goodies to - go as well. :)

my go to for delicious vegan food! the specials seem to always be changing so there’s always new, fresh options to choose from, and shows that there is heaps of care in the food and customer experience. the service is some of the best I’ve had.. I’m a bit of a regular here, but the service never seems to fail!! I highly recommend coming in! It’s warm and cozy in winter, and cool in summer (especially when the big door is open) One of the friendliest places I come to eat I could rave on about this place and how good it is forever.. why don’t you try it?

Went on music night. Menu was trimmed down which was fine by me, but please, you don't have to trim the description of the items as well. Very nice staff but forced to ask staff to describe and then try to remember every last menu item description. This detracted a LOT, and very unnecessarily from an otherwise great night. What would be wrong with providing the normal menu and saying, 'those with an asterisk not available on music night'

Deeeeeelicious !!! Great food and coffee. So aesthetically pleasing and different from your usual cabinet food. Felt like we were fine dining and the cheeses were amazing , couldn't tell it was vegan cheese. Loved the "salmon" made from carrots, pastrami, tofu, "cream cheese " and crackers .. everything was delicious ! A treat for vegans! The host was super nice and friendly. Such a great find - will definitely be back !

I loooove the vibe in this place!! My partner's sister (who is Vegan) was down for the weekend so we checked out Grater Goods, and all 3 of us grabbed a 'Fricken Burger' which tasted very similar to a KFC Burger except 100% Vegan, and at only $12 + $3 for Fries it was superbly priced!! They also have a cute wee 'Pinot Cave' which is a wine bar plus board games / bean bags to relax! I will certainly be back to try more - yum!!

Simply love this place, has character, the staff are beautiful and helpful and the food is so yummy. Coffee is really good too. So worth a trip even if your not vegan, it's all tasty and filling. They also have a great selection of plant based 'meats' (the pastrami is so good), vegan sauces etc.

I have been twice now to Grater Goods and both times I have been blown away. The chorizo and sopressa were amazing. We also ordered a vegan turkey for Christmas and it was incredible. It is nice to be able to treat yourself to some delicious plant based deli food.

Only had a cup of tea today but that was very good. Being from the UK I'm particular about my EB tea and this was very good as was the exceptional price. They also have an array of plant based goods that I haven't seen elsewhere so I will be back to pick some of these up and sample the delicious food on offer. Service was also amazing and atmosphere of the venue was great. So comfortable. Highly recommend. I also like that dogs are allowed. :-)

Ive died and gone to vegan heaven! I got used to delicious seitan noms in North America. Since then I've been making it myself. Well, Grater Goods makes seitan that is next-level gourmet stuff, and I'm never going to make my own again. My Reuben was delicious, and I was able to bring seitan home to make my own meals. Yum!

A friend and I had dinner here last night. We shared an antipasti platter, salad Nicoise, and KFT (house fired tofu). The food was fantastic, so much so that I bought some from the deli to take home too. The atmosphere was great. And the hosts were super friendly. Absolutely incredible. The food here completely blew me away. People who don't like vegan food are wrong. I am not vegan or veggie, and this was the best meal out I had in Christchurch, probably in the whole of New Zealand. You owe it to yourself to see what amazing flavours they can produce here with only plants. The staff were extremely warm, friendly and knowledgeable. We were so impressed with faux grios that we bought all they had left in the deli. My mouth waters thinking and writing about it now.

One of the staple restaurants that make Christchurch unique, welcoming and a must experience. Plenty of parking around, 100% vegan and usually gluten free options. The loaded fries changes every week, I believe on Wednesday’s as they’re not open Monday or Tuesday.

Visited them when we were in Christchurch. Despite having incredibly high expectations, this just blew us away. We loved every dish; the KFT was the absolute standout. The setting was funky and casual, we could even pop over to the vintage shop next door after the meal. The staff were super friendly and accommodating. They gave us great suggestions on where to go for the afternoon in the city. Would highly recommend and would visit again whenever I'm in Christchurch.

Grater goods are one of my favourite places to go in chch I LOVE The goods burger and the rheuben sandwich. The owners are so lovely, you can tell they really care about and love what they do! Service and food when we visited (Sat 29th May 21) around 2.30pm not as good as last time we visited unfortunately because I usually rave about this place. Didn't get all that we ordered & when we let staff know they said will get straight away and took another 20 mins for dip and bread we ordered 30 mins proir to come. They weren't overly busy but seemed on a go slow. Ordered soup and asked for no added oil on top. Came with oil on top and soup lacked flavour (was white bean & carrot). KFT always good but salad with it needs revamping as a bit sad. I own & run an organic gf plantbased cafe(yes Im being fussy)so I pick places where I enjoy the food and today sorry guys wasn't up to your usual standard. I'm sure you will be next time 😊

A totally unique approach to wine bar and charcuterie. Really good vibes here in this converted industrial building, with all vegan treats on the menu. Staff and owners are very cool and friendly, music flows perfectly and the decor fits beautifully into the industrial chic vibe. Love that these guys are trail-blazing a completely different side to vegan food, disproving the tired stereo-type of carrot-stick-munching hippie vegans in dungarees.

Dine in, takeaway or order online - Grater Goods does it all, and oh so well. The most delicious burgers, loaded fries, KFT (this is legit, you’ve never had tofu quite like it), antipasti, and then a huge range of luxury charcuterie and deli items - ALL VEGAN! You can clearly see the care they take to produce everything to a really high standard, it’s so damn good. Plus the atmosphere at Orbell St really captures that French bistro vibe, overall an outstanding dining and shopping experience!

One of my favourite places to eat in Christchurch. The food is superb - I think the Fricken is the best vegan burger I've ever eaten. Had the antipasti today and it was a range of delights that lets you taste some of the delicious deli goods they make at Grater Goods. That cream cheese and lox is a knockout - I wish I could make a vegan cream cheese as good as that. I love that you can buy such a great range of goods there - it's the place to buy cultured vegan cheese. No rubbery supermarket rubbish in sight. Of course - wine is a focus and is really great value for money. If I could have one wish to improve GG, it's that there was a slightly wider range of beer (just because pilsner isn't really for me). I really want to introduce GG to other South Island breweries who make interesting, complex beer that's as good as the wines at GG - breweries like Wilderness, Emporium or Craftwork. The service is wonderful. Youssef is welcoming, generous and gracious - and he sets the standard for the rest of his staff, which they invariably follow. Oh, and thank you for being dog-friendly.

A fantastic place that we found by accident cruising passed on our hire bikes. It’s a little out of the centre but we’ll worth a visit. Wonderful, really, really tasty food all handmade and sourced locally. We had burgers and a quinoa salad with humous. Afterwards we had these sumptuous little tarts made with kiwi and raspberries. It was all delicious. It’s set in a large warehouse with plenty of space. The tables are placed with loads of room to move around. It would be great for kids. The service was great - everyone so friendly. I wish we’d found it earlier as we would have gone there more than once.

Wow, this has to be one of the best places for food in Christchurch. Everything was so tasty, especially the custard donut. I bought some of their chorizo to take home; I could eat that stuff all day. The atmosphere is cosy and relaxed. The tables are spread out so the place doesn't feel cramped. The staff I spoke to were friendly and passionate about what they're doing. Overall just a super good experience. I'll be back regularly.

A MUST SEE! Being plant based for only a year, I’m still learning to play with food options and choose healthier alternatives. These guys make it so easy (and delicious) and the atmosphere is fun. GET THE KFT. The breading on the tofu is light and perfectly spiced. The hot sauce and vegan mayo pair perfectly with the pickles for my favorite sandwich in all of Chch. The space is adorable, the staff are lovely, and it's next to Junk & Disorderly, for a fun stroll before or after. I also tried a sampling of the pastrami, soppressa, chorizo, turkey, and a cumin cheese that were very tasty - glad to have found a great spot for plant-based charcuterie for all of the upcoming holidays.

We had such a nice experience here. Loved the factory vibe. The staff made us feel so welcome. Food arrived promptly and did not disappoint. We enjoyed browsing the small shop afterwards to take a few goodies home. I could not recommend Grater Goods high enough and we'll certainly be back next time we're in Chch.
