I went to this restaurant because it was close to where I live, and the business was pretty good. I ordered beef noodles and chicken noodles. Beef noodles have a lot of meat. We also ordered Vietnamese spring rolls. This dish is not bad. The sauce is also authentic, crispy, sweet and sour.

Awesome food and friendly efficient service. There chicken and corn soup was very delicious. I went as part of a group and we ordered a set menu. Dishes that most of us would not have ordered separately, but the range and flavors were great.

I usually get the bun bo hue when I come here, it's nice and good value for money. I LOVE the fried spring rolls and deep fried squid though, always so fresh. I can't order deep fried squid at other places anymore because it's usually a let down compared to here.

The food is 100% authentic Southern Vietnamese cuisine. Their staff is friendly and very informative. Our best dish was Beef Pho, this was one of the best Pho I has ever aten in NZ. The broth is fragrant full of favour. Well recommended 👌.

This restaurant is a great place to go for Vietnamese food you can easily get into. They have a large selection of foods to choose from, though I don't recommend all of them. There are some very fresh options, with some requiring to be ordered hours before coming in order to be served fresh. The owner is very friendly to everyone and the staff are very quick with everything.

server was really nice, food come out relatively quickly. we got fresh spring rolls but they didn’t taste super fresh (not horrible though) and fried seafood spring rolls which were really yum. the pho was amazing and i liked that the bean sprouts came separately because i’m fussy about that 😝 there are so many choices, the menu was huge :) would definitely come back again!

It serves authentic and delicious Vietnamese food, not only at reasonable prices, but also in plenty of portions. The Vietnamese noodles they make are delicious and memorable.

My first time with friends at Hello Vietnamese restaurant. The food was delicious and flavoursome and there was an excellent choice of food on the menu for gluten free and those with celiac. The staff were welcoming and informative. The portions were a good size and more than enough for fixed no. of people . We ordered Set Menu and believe me it was too much. Restaurant is located at very pick location on Riccarton Road. Parking was good. The restaurant has very good space. But if you are going in weekend please book it before going. After been there I love vietamese food.

Average food. Taste of their dishes is on the sweet side.. Pho broth was lacking flavour (broth flavour overpowered by salt and sugar). The bún Cha (rice vermicelli noodles) with lemongrass pork was below average for me. The pork had no lemongrass taste and was too wet for my liking. Service was friendly and attentive but food was meh. Fair pricing ($14-$16) and huge portions.

Fantastic staff. A shout out to our server Michelle who was helpful and lovely. Food was excellent. We had the garlic prawns and curry fish and long beans. Update. So it's been a year since I last wrote the review. I still visit the restaurant regularly because the food is consistently good. The restaurant owner Bruce is also the epitome of a lovely host. Chatty and friendly. As an update their fried squid is lovely, as is their chicken with cashew nuts.

We love this place. They have always a table for two people available last minute. You have many choice in the menu and the pho is just on point. The staff is also very friendly and welcoming. They also come over to ask you if you like the food, very nice. Probably the best vietnamese restaurant in town. Recommend

Amazing value, delicious food at a reasonable price. Every dish was some of the best of its kind we have had in Vietnamese food. Ordered the special and rare pho noodles, chicken and corn soup, fried squid and spring rolls. For drinks we have Vietnamese coffee and others condensed milk and the lemon drink. Highly recommend everyone to try this place, was our favourite restaurant on our visit.

Good beef noodle soup, could probably do with a dash more star anise but otherwise great! Lots of room, polite friendly staff, and clean toilets. Note the restaurant doesnt front the main road, and turn down the side street and park there and the restaurant will be right there. About 10-15 parking spaces there too

This restaurant is busy on most days I have been there. The food is tasty and authentic Vietnamese. Good choices from single meals to banquet meals for a group. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. There is a car-park that is usually full, but there is also free car parking on Euston Street.

We have been here several times and find it's our favourite place to go as a group. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The head man is always so helpful and has a great sense of humour. The deep fried spring rolls are amazing and something we order every time and heaps of. Recommend this place for small or large size dining.

24/10/2017 - I went to have dinner at this Vietnamese restaurant after reading the reviews as it is highly rated by the customers. Maybe I expected too much from this highly rated Vietnamese restaurant as I found both dishes were kinda bland (I was hoping for strong flavors). Slightly disappointed but nevertheless edible. The fried squids and fresh spring rolls are a hit for me. You can never go wrong with fresh spring rolls. The fried squids - very tasty and the coating is not thick (unlike other Asian restaurant). Limited parking spaces and I do strongly suggest to make a phone reservation before going there. Any walk-in customers might need to share a table with other strangers. They do get busy from 6 pm to 7.30 pm (peak time for them). Also, they charge $0.50 for a takeaway plastic container. To avoid this extra charge, I strongly advise that you finish your dish/ meal and if your friends or kids can't finish theirs, well.... finish it for them.... Lol.... Would I go back? Maybe. I had better Vietnamese food before, and this is definitely not the best or the worst. For me, the overall taste is average. But, everyone is different and will have different experience.

Wooow!! I loovvveeed the squid craving it again lol the bits of garlic and chilli went so well with the squid I wish I could a place that serves that dish here in Auckland. If anyone comes across it let me know ASAP!! very accommodating space we were seated at a smaller table first because it was just the 2 of us. As soon as we placed our order for all of this they asked if we wanted to move to a bigger table which was great. The drinks came within minutes and the food not too long after! Very good Vietnamese food in central Christchurch. I am a Vietnamese living in New Zealand and everytime I visit the garden city I make sure I have at least one meal from here. I recommend the noodle soups dishes and the broken rice dish 👌🏼

Number 7 was good but my main dish, beef with fried rice noodle (I think) was a bit tasteless, so I don't know if the original dish is like that or if they should put something more in it but I had to add some chili to have some taste in it. For the staff, I felt like they were smiling but not with their eyes and the tone of their voice was not that friendly, really rushed and a bit annoyed. One of the waitress kept bumping into my bag, I looked at her when she did it again, said sorry, but 5 min later did it again even though my chair was not in the way...

Truly authentic southern-Vietnam taste! The restaurant owners and chefs are from Can Tho and the dish stay true to their origin. We had the best fried chicken with fish sauce in all Vietnamese restaurants we tried overseas.

We are 2 Vietnamese who visited Christchurch from Sydney and we are well familiar with what authentic Vietnamese food ought to be. We did not have much expectation upon entering the restaurant in a new city, all we had was a massive craving for some good Viet food and boy did Hello Vietnam knock our socks off. The spring rolls were fresh and you can't go wrong with adding a bit of chilli oil to the dipping hoisin sauce (note: it's rather spicy but woah it was great). Next up we had the spicy vermicelli soup with beef (or Hue noodle soup) and THIS, this gotta be the closest rendition of the dish to authenticity that I've ever come across through my many years of living in Perth, Melbourne or Sydney. The broth was on point and so was the meat. Everything from flavour to texture - this dish ticked them all. It was so authentic that I thought the chef must have owned a teleportation device and teleported the bowls of noodle all the way from Saigon to Christchurch in a blink of an eye. No jokes! We walked out of the restaurant feeling extremely happy and gastronomically satisfied. If we were living here in the city, we are sure that the restaurant would count us among their list of regular customers. Now to the staff: the staff was great. I noticed that the lady was paying close attention to the pace of our meal so that our orders and drinks could come out at the right time. For example I did not have to wait for more than 2 minutes for my dessert to arrive after finishing my noodle. The restaurant was also very clean and comfy. Overall it was a great experience and money well spent. And this came from a Vietnamese who has an appreciation for good food.
