Great Vegan Cafe. Try the quarter pounder its the best, you can even buy the patty’s. Iced soy late is very delicious, coffee has a great taste. Highly recommended place.

Lovely nachos, coffee and the best Afghans ever! Love this place! Their stance to try and be includsive considering the current climate is courageous and a very costly choice to make. Thank goodness we're not swiping science credentials to enter the door! I think many of us would fail there. However the opportunity to enjoy great food and coffee with wonderful accommodating service from such warm people, is a luxury not worth missing out on!

Always thoroughly enjoyed the food, beverages and delightful service at Portershed but living out of town I haven't been able to visit as much as I'd like. However, since learning of their policy of not discriminating (was not surprising). I am going to make a point of visiting again very soon to give my support to these beautiful people.

Vegan heaven! We went right at closing to try their "meat" pie and sausage roll but we were unable to get coffee. So we went back the next day and got more food...still didn't get coffee. The staff is great, cheerful and know how to give you just the right dose of spunkiness to brighten up your day. In all I think we made 3 trips here to get food, it was THAT good...still never tried the coffee 😉

A fantastic Vegan find! Travelling around NZ is simply stunning however the choice for Vegan foods is very limited so to discover Portershed was extremely well worth the visit- So much so it needed a further couple of visits to make sure we were right the first time! Excellent quality food from cakes to snacks. The burger was “amazing”, with their 36g of protein a bonus and the ‘thick shake’ so tasty. As soon as we are back in Christchurch we will be back here! I love this little gem. One of my favourite little cafes I have ever been to. The menu is so unique!! Everything is free range/vegan. Amazing atmosphere and staff. This is a must do place if you are visiting for work or looking for a place to have a good meal. Go!

Amazing food! I'm not vegan, but this cafe will definitely make me one with their awesome food! A vegan friend of mine, who is a regular of this cafe, recommended for me to try this place out. Portershed does not disappoint! I was so blown away with how good everything tasted. I ordered a chocolate shake and it tastes 100% better than one with cow milk. The perfectly flavoured homemade corn fritters were served on ciabatta, such a good feed! I will certainly be back when I'm in town next. Usually costs about $50 for two hungry people, you even walk away with some leftovers too! So worth your money :)

Delicious food! I didn't realise it was a vegan cafe until my wife pointed it out to me. The breakfast burger was a mountain of good stuff stacked between two incredibly fresh, incredibly soft buns. The vegan cheese inside the burger was a very happy substitute for the real deal. I also enjoyed a chocolate thickshake which did not disappoint :) To top it all off, if selecting from the menu isn't for you, you'll be stoked to know the range if cabinet food is sufficiently varied to please all appetites and tastes. After enjoying breakfast, we also took lunch to go. It's safe to say we'd certainly eat here again... And again :)

This place is amazing. The interior is quirky, they've outside seating and the food is incredible. Worth every cent and so so filling. Have had both burgers and can't finish them they're so bigger! The avo smash is our fave and the coffee is great. Loads of cabinet and menu choices. Everyone will enjoy this food not just vegan/vegetarians.

Wow the food here was excellent. My Mom got the Nachos some of the best that I have had. I got a Filled sandwich with a side of beer battered fries the bread was really good and fresh the chips were amazing. I would have liked a little more dip but it was pretty close to enough. Only complaint I have was the coffee probably wouldn't order it again. 5 Stars for the Food 2 Stars for the Coffee (Update) Went a second time and had the coffee black which was a lot nicer. I think the coffee was more of an Arabic blend. Based on that I would give the coffee a 4 or 5

Portershed is a lovely, cosy cafe! The staff are all kind, and the food is very "comfort food", which is awesome as a vegan, as lots of other cafes just do high priced fancy things in tiny portions. Portershed's cabinet food is one of the highlights for me - so much choice, sweet or savoury.

Second year getting a birthday cake from here, we are not vegan, but we love how it's so easy for them to make it allergy friendly so that all kids can enjoy, even those with dairy, egg, and nut allergies! Cake's are amazing, coffee delicious, and cabinet food also is well worth a drive across town for. Great service too. Definitely recommend.

Hip cafe in Addington. Good looking Vegan food (I accidentally asked for a full fat latte... Think oat\ coconut\almond!) I particularly enjoyed the music, there but not too loud. Lots of different surfaces so I don't think it would get as obnoxiously noisy as a square plastic box cafe. There's an outside, seems kid friendly and the coffee - well hard to tell with almond milk, but delicious.

The food cabinet looks fantastic with a huge range of food, all vegan and delicious (even for meat eaters). The food from the menu is also fantastic and even though sometimes they're very busy, I've never had to wait for too long.The coffee is great and they have many types of plant based milks, including cashew and hemp milk. First time opinion, I loved the idea to have many more vegan options in a cafe and that is why we went there. A lot of sweet really sweet options, not the best for morning, also quiet pricey. I'd love to go when the have croissants, thought It was always in their options. I liked the style. Service was great for Christchurch standards.

Have been twice now, great choice for vegans obviously but if you're also gluten free you might struggle. The gluten free options are mainly just the sweets/cakes etc. As is the way with most cafes. They had refined sugar free cake options though which was nice to see. I had a refined sugar free ginger loaf (very small) $7 but was incredibly sweet, couldn't finish and almond cappuccino but my coffee was bitter - unfortunately it was the same last time I visited. They sell liquid smoke here and at a good price and some other products if you make special vegan recipes at home.

Well that was my first soy coffee, ever. And I must say it was an enjoyable flat white!! The mouth feel is different, but it was obviously an expertly made coffee and a great experience. This case is niche and quirky. The atmosphere and vibe were great, really friendly staff and inviting/welcoming. Really pleasantly informed about the food philosophy without being preachy or judgemental. Will definitely be heading back to try the food offering.

I like this Cafe so much I wish to move in. The setting is comfortable and homely, an oasis in a bustling area. The food is always fresh and delicious, everything behind the counter extremely tempting and I aim to try it all. Came to this cafe as it was the only one listed as opening at 7am on a Saturday. We were not disappointed. The coffee was fantastic and the meals were amazing. I had the avocado smash, sourdough bread and a hash brown that tasted so fresh, even the kale was acceptable to this "never-going-to-eat-kale" healthy eater. Our other meal was PB on pumpernickel. I didn't taste this (peanut allergy) but it looked incredible. Well done Potershed. We will be recommending to our friends and will definitely be back.

Absolutely loved my first visit to Portershed - went in knowing it was a vegan Cafe and was pleasantly surprised to see meat replacement dishes available, the BBQ Pulled Jackfruit roll was amazing, and the soy flat white was on point to too.. My wife had a samosa that was bursting with flavour too. We'll definitely be back to try more!

This place is simply amazing. If you're looking for a fully vegan cafe in Christchurch, this is it. Everything on the menu is vegan, which is a rare blessing. The food is delicious and the thick shakes are out of this world. The kitchen closes at 2:30 pm, but you can still order some eats from the display case up front. Quaint indoor area and a big backyard with a deck and tables, also featuring a great lawn for catered picnics. Bon appetit!

I was recommended to try this relatively new vegan cafe out. Its easy to miss on lincoln road due to lack of signage so do pay attention when searching for it. On entering I was amazed at the original historic decor vibe going on. Great selection of vegan food was available with friendly service. Superb soy flat whites!

What a lovely little cafe. I felt like I was walking into my own lounge upon entering hete. A mixture of table seating and some comfy couches and chairs if you are in mind for a more relaxed seating. A great selection of coffee and tea offerings waiting to be matched with a varied selection of non dairy milk pairings. Menu offers smoothies and light bites to go with your drink. A quick peek out the back of the cafe shows a little garden which I'm told offers up herbs and vegetables for the kitchen and also what promises to be a gorgeous garden and deck waiting for Summer to appear. Fast, attentive service with a smile and good knowledge of the history of the area and the menu pairings. I will definitely be back.

Cool decor. Its overcrowded on Saturday morning. I had a granola bowl. I dont reccomend it at all. It was like blitzed dog biscuits served with warm coconut milk. The highlight of the dish is thinly sliced fruit. Total waste of $12.

My vegan friend took me to this cafe and while I am not a vegan myself, I could see myself eating a lot of the food that was on offer. I'm currently trying the keto diet and can't have carbs so they whipped me up a salad with half an avocado and the most divine aioli. You have to try it! My friend got the french toast with ice cream and a side of fries with aioli. That looked amazing. We shared a pot of vanilla red bush tea with coconut milk which was lovely and fragrant and keto-friendly. I'll definitely be going back!
