M.This is one of our favourite Chinese restaurants in Christchurch and, although it has recently changed hands, it is still as good as ever. Our waitress explained that she was still in training but there was no need for her to explain this - her service was very efficient and friendly. The dishes we ordered were all very tasty and nicely presented and came out in a timely manner. Our only very minor criticism is that we would have preferred some music in the background rather than the Chinese TV cooking show.
Will definitely return.
T.I took my 84 year old mother for lunch, and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. The service was top notch, and the food delicious. We’ll definitely go back.

J.My sister and I took our mum here for mothers day, we've been here plenty of times previously. The food was good as always, however, it was a shame that their service wasn't as great this time around. It was somewhat busy, as expected, however, everyone was given a time limit of one hour to eat, but weren't told of this till 5 mins before the hour was up as they needed the table. You could see some unhappy customers around the room, as they were told they had to leave in a few minutes. Not the greatest experience, however, the food was still tasty!
B.Went with a big group for a byo and it was great! Awesome staff who were really accommodating and delicious food, highly recommend!
M.First time to red bowl and had yum cha lunch there. Food is ok but not fantastic. Our pork dumplings(Siu mai) are very dry. Bbq rice vermicelli roll doesn't look very nice. Prawn dumpling taste the best among all those dim sum we ordered.
R.This is a lovely Chinese restaurant that the local Chinese go to eat out. That to me says that this is authentic and food, and also I must say that having been to China it IS authentic and delicious! the staff are nice and the price is very competitive.

But some meat dishes were stingy on the meat. Like the flat noodles with beef. It was like where is Wally to find the beef.
2nd time we have had to send the prawn dumplings back as they were raw.
Pretty quick service when not busy, food is great but sometimes staff make mistakes and double up on your orders. Toilets need an over haul.

But it is a great place to host your out of town visitors because most nights are not that busy, which is good to catch up as it isn’t too noisy.

J.Red Bowl has a lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and most importantly their food is delicious. One of the best sweet and sour porks you will find in Christchurch. This is a great venue for dates or big gatherings. Really good place for a BYO dinner as well as they allow BYO Wine and Beer. 🍾🍺. It can get quiet busy so I recommend making a booking for the weekends.

P.Crispy skin Peking Duck with condiments is delicious. Its second course is stir-fried duck meat with bean sprouts. Service staff are not as attentive but typical for any Chinese restaurants.
s.Very quiet on a Sunday 6 o'clock wasn't the eggplant which there were several different varieties of it was cooked exactly the price was $22 for the amount I was happy lots of parking I might even call this place a diamond in the rough because it's in the middle of nowhere
