J.A cafe inside an Aladdins Cave of trinkets, treasures and kitchen and dining items and fashion items.
Operates breakfast and lunch menu with a Cafe offering.
I had the roast vegetable compote on a winter salad. I added the venison sausage and bacon, and a side of fries and aioli. This meal was phenomenal, from the presentation to the taste. It was simply sensational.
A small selection of alcohol was also available. Cant wait to return.
T.After reading the latest menu online decided to go for lunch. Located in Cust in North Canterbury. Quirky shop and restaurant. Food really really good. Full of interesting combinations. Plenty of menu items to please everyone. Vegetable Stack main and Smoked Duck main were tasty-as & awesome. Free parking outside. Great friendly service.

M.Extremely friendly staff, good food and a variety of nik naks to explore. If I had a critique it would be that they were a bit short on the bacon and sausages. My husband had the full breakfast but only 1 sausage cut in half and 2 rashers of bacon, not really enough for a grown man.
L.A treasure trove of wonderland. Something for everyone here. The food was awesome and lots of it but the staff were amazing. Friendly,delightful to our grandchildren, great atmosphere highly recommend visit and a spell in the Cafe.

R.Just wow! Food here was delicious! I was recommended to visit by and friend and convinced a couple of friends to come with, the drive to get to route 72 is beautiful with the trees lining the road and the mountains in the background, then you arrive to the quirky-est little shop and cafe.
We had pre booked a table and got one with a view, decoration around the cafe were items of art that could be purchased and the additional rooms downstairs we're filled and almost bursting with items, from kitchen wear to handbags to tourist knick knacks for purchase.
My friends and I ordered a variety off the menu and were a little saddened that it was hard to tell the difference in presentation but each of us had a tasty and healthy lunch, so much so we decided to stop for dessert too. And those topped our mains, portions were generous and plated beautifully.
Only downside was I had no confirmation using the online booking system and had been told there was no access to this as a staff member was away, so felt glad I rang with enough time to book still. Other than that great place and will no doubt visit again.
C.What an amazing little place, highly recommend going here you will not be disappointed. The burger I had was spectacular and will be back to try more of the menu. As for the gift shop omg there is not enough hours in the day to see it all and some very nice pieces. Can't recommend this place highly enough

B.Great selection. But they were starting to pack up before 3.30 for closing at 4pm and put the products that were outside in parts of the store so we couldn't get into to see it all. Perhaps missing potential sales.
S.Made a random stop in Cust this morning and had coffee and breakfast. Very lovely staff, friendly and attentive..the food was very pleasing, great portion sizes! Coffee was very good also. Enjoyed our wee experience around this town today.
j.First time there today and what a fond.Excellent service and scrumptious food The chicken bacon and Caesar open sandwich came with delicious hot fries and it was a treat.

V.Loved It. Did not get time too eat. Too much to see and buy. I got two lovely tops and a scarf. My sister bought two stunning tops. Nothing we have seen anywhere before. Just so special. We will be back again for sure.

C.This shop is great, very cluttered but the owner knows where everything is. You can spend ages just looking at it all, there is something for everyone. Then you can enjoy the lovely food and drinks in the cafe.
I.A real country themed eatery with lots of different artwork for sale and crafts for sale. Definitely not dull and friendly staff. Definitely worth five stars

A.Stopped here on the way through to Castle Hill. Nice and warm upstairs, staff are super friendly, food was also great! We had the Kiwiana with Salmon and the Pancakes with banana etc. we would highly recommended stopping here for some great kiwi hospitality. Would stop here again if coming through Cust again.

Staff were very caring and attentive towards Mum and I, the open chicken and bacon sandwich was delicious as was the desert. A.We often get takeaways burgers from here on a Friday night as they are amazing. Best gluten free burgers we've had. And they're huge! Calling past today and thought we'd stop for lunch for the first time. So glad we did. Generous portions and super delicious. Great service too. Wonderful bunch o people

J.This place is a little special place. It makes great coffee. I complain about other places about there coffee. But not this one. The place is cram packed with little ornaments and nick nacks. I wish I had spare money just to buy some of there stuff. But I don't. Only enough for good coffee.

The owners, chef extraordinaire, the girls - all are just awesome.
Food is so good, so many flavours within the one dish, eight meals delivered to the table at the same time and now the best Bloody Mary makers as well!
And girls, the gifts... OMGoodness.... if you walk out without anything... you just don't get it!
Was afraid to do this review because next time I visit I may have to pre-book in advance!!

l.Having eaten pork belly in good American,Asian and European restaurants Route 72 is up there with the very best. Staff were friendly and welcoming. My dining partners also were very happy with their meals rating the presentation worth going for by itself.

P.Although the food was well presented and cooked perfectly found the portion size a bit meagre for the price paid.the souvenir shop was that's an integral part of the cafe had some good souvenirs at a reasonable price but beware you get charged more for using a credit card.
R.My family and I spent a leisurely afternoon at the Emporium having lunch, looking at everything and buying fabulous things. We have been there on several occasions, not necessarily all together at the same time but the experience has always been the same...awesome! The food is consistently divine and the staff are just wonderful. They are attentive and helpful without being in your face and the ladies on the Emporium side of things are fabulous! They bent over backwards to help my sisters and I find what we were looking for (the Cruella de Ville clothing) lots of laughs, chatting, help and advise. Everyone is so friendly and you all have a great sense of humour. We will be back yet again!

L.Cool place to take a break, have a cuppa and look around. Many little things to look at and got that good old countryside vibe going on. Only it was a little crammed for me. Counter is sort of in an angle deeper in the shop and a lot of foot traffic when you're sitting in.
