A great entertainment to hold function. Good food great service. I did not the place existed until I came here to a end of year break up evening. Parking is good and the venue is centrally located on Moorhouse Avenue. Check it out as ii is worth considering.

Sugarhorse is the perfect place for a drink and great food. They have a fantastic outdoor area for all weather conditions. Staff are friendly and service is superb. It’s a great place for a work place function or meeting.

We enjoyed some food and drinks at Sugarhorse on a Friday night. After our dining experience we would recommend this as an easy-going casual spot to go with coworkers for a drink or to meet up with friends and share some pizza. We enjoyed the chicken nibbles and pizza, the steak open sandwich was just ok. The staff and ambience were welcoming and it’s super easy to park as it’s part of a complex with a parking lot right out front.

We had our daughter, Nicoles, 21st, on Saturday 20 February, 2021, and I cant speak highly enough, of the friendly, efficient staff, as well as the owner, Pete. They all went out of their way to make this event flawless, and very memorable. Communication re Nicoles venue, from Pete, the owner, was incredible. We were keep in the loop all the way, discussing all options, timing of food to appear, music available, the cakes appearance, etc, etc. As for the food, it was impeccable, in quality, quantity, fresheness, and taste. The grazing table was repleneshed without delay, and the range of drinks available was very broard, and of great quality. Really great meal, pizza was fabulous and really tasty the base was superb. Nice to have fresh local ingredients one of the best feta I have had in a long time! Service by Beth was excellent, she managed the lunch time rush really well attending to every table with attention to detail, from working in hospo myself its hard to find good staff who follow through with. Every table was told the specials, given water even the table behind us was given a bowl of water for cleaning their fingers after ribs which normally gets forgotten and side plates for sharing. Good job, and writing Happy Birthday on my takeaway was a nice personal touch! Cheers Team

We held our daughters 21st birthday at this venue last night and what a place! Amazing venue with a great indoor and outdoor atmosphere. Pete was fantastic to deal with when sorting out details and made sure things ran smoothly throughout the night. All the staff were very friendly and great food .. we received many comments from our guests on how nice the food was which came out continuously throughout the night. Thanks Pete and the team at Sugarhorse for making our night a success. Would definitely recommend.

Hi firstly I would like to say our food, Thai salad and Moroccan Lamb were first class really enjoyed these along with a wine and a Heineken however when we came to pay I had a voucher from Treatment for $40 credit but when I arrived home I realised that I had only received $20.00 off my account, we had followed instructions and pre booked as requested not wanting to create I have been checking the voucher out again in case I had misinterpreted the deal... The meal was fantastic and the waitress ever so helpful

Had an amazing 70th birthday party here 2 weeks ago. The staff were fantastic and very helpful. Thanks Karen and your staff for doing such a great job while your boss was away on leave. Nice place to gather. 50 people inside and out. Pizza flowed for the 3 hours we were there. Good table food, chips, samosas, spring rolls etc in between. Good atmosphere. Nice and clean.

Great spot to host a party! I was a guest at my friend's bday party and designated driver for family members so I thought the night would suck. It certainly did not! Staff were fantastic! There may have been a wait on drinks but the bar only has 2 stations, there were a LOT of people. The platters of nibbles were delicious, arancini and the lamb skewers ... YUM! The advantage of being sober made the night even more fun seeing my friends from school 'take off their make-up', so to speak! I was greeted by the owner, Peter, and he was honestly the nicest dude ever! Very attentive with regards to his guests, their satisfaction and safety. I can't thank him and all of his staff enough for a really fantastic venue and would 100% recommend.

Beautiful venue for private functions, Pete & staff are very professional, nice natured, courteous & accomodating. The venue came with everything we needed to host our daughter’s 21st from security to PowerPoint presentations just to name a few. Food was OK but I dont know where the "nice friendly staff" were. The woman serving us made us feel incredibly unwelcome. Incredibly rude and pulled a face as we left with a sarcastic thank you when I had turned distracted by my preschooler. Highly unprofessional and will never return because of this.

One Sunday a month one of the best little social dance events in NZ is held here. It's a great place for it and the put up with all of our dance shenanigans. The fries there are really good, and even better to share, and they have a really nice out door space that isn't cold at night and is good for socialising.

A good place to have a Friday lunch and cold beers 🍺 as Christchurch reached 32 degree Celsius (HOT! 😰). This eatery is located on Moorhouse Avenue, tucked in between PKF Goldsmith Fox and Godfreys. Slightly pricey, but offset by good service and delicious food + a nice smoke free outdoor area. Would I go back? Yes.

It was OK?!?!?! Slow customer service, more seating outside than there is inside, it was over priced for what we got and would've loved a properly cooked steak as well, as my steak was chewy and over cooked but going back again to see if it was just that night, I might just change my review

Have only dined once at sugarhorse. Using a grabone voucher made it great value for money. Ordered eggs benedict (as i do everywhere) eggs were poached well, bread was on par but the bacon was overcooked however the dish was lifted by an amazing hollandaise sauce. After having eggs benedict at several establishments around christchurch i can happily say this was the best hollandaise sauce i have ever experienced. Service could do with a look at, we were gestured towards our table rather than being escorted and after seated were given water and cutlery without a word being spoken from our server. With a friendlier service team this place has huge potential, will definitely go back again.
