Friendly staff. The fish and chips were well cooked and nicely presented. Not a large choice 3 on the mainsand 2 on the desert. I thought it was a bit on the pricey side for what was offered.

Great chef at the moment who has updated the menu. Egg Benedict for lunch is super tasty but not too big. Perfect size and really well priced. As usual customer service can't be faulted... awesome friendly staff.

Great service, friendly bar staff, lovely venue, pleasant decor and surroundings, nice selection of drinks and yummy fries and aoli.

Think of it as a resturant with a bar. Great for casual drink or a full on meal. Menu small but quality food. You would struggle to find better food this far off a main highway. Staff are excellent from bar staff to kitchen dish washer! They will all stop and have a friendly chat. Well managed. Don't expect a cheap meal but do expect quality. 3 taps of a nz pale ale and craft lager along with the usual mass produced beers. Locally sourced meats on the menu.new menu just out... even better.

Food was delicious and beautifully presented. The staff were warm, friendly and extremely helpful. The lovely lady working front of house entertained my two young boys and made going out for lunch so enjoyable! We will certainly be back with family and friends!

Worth the trip over to Hawarden, pork belly was amazing and the Brownie was one of the best we have had in ages. Great service from staff

Great atmosphere, outside garden area, very polite and helpful staff, we booked in Saturday night for tea, had the specials, fish and chicken burger and salmon and veggies for the non meat eater, all meals where cook perfectly, definitely will stop in again.

The Hogget Lamb Duo - Unbelievably delicious!!!! My mouth waters just thinking about it again! Presentation of the meal is very appealing to the eye. The quantity of meat is generous, but not overwhelming. We started with their lovely breads appetisers and some finished with desert however I found I was a comfortable fullness and didn't want to lose the amazing flavours of the Confit shoulder by getting desert. if not getting an appetiser, dessert I would suggest getting a side with the Hogget Lamb Duo. The confit shoulder is a show stopper. Flavours, texture, temperature, 10/10. Thank you.

Food is always amazing and the place is stunning as well probably better than a lone star but also the vibe is nice as well with great service 10/10 in my books

Beautiful food cooked by an extremely talented chef, service was on point and the price was exceptionaly good for the quality of food and drink. Great atmosphere and fiendy attentive staff. Would highly recommend to anyone in the area or passing through.

We enjoyed Eggs Benedict with a generous quantity of salmon. It was very delicious. The service was excellent and personal. It just so happened that the horse show was in progress across the road which was a bonus. All in all a nice place to visit and to have a meal and a drink. Recommended to all.

Great service great atmosphere great food. But I won't be completely satisfied until I see wallow samon on the menu. :) Would be awesome if the pool table was in it's own billiards room.

Went on the Weka pass railway which stops in Hawarden, nice old style town, easy to walk around and have a beer or 2, friendly service, cheap beer and pub eats.

Best Pork Spare Ribs ever.

I'm a coffee addict & the coffee I had here was one of the best I've ever had. The savory scones were nice as well. The staff & service were excellent.

This a newly openned Bar/ Restaurant/Cafe at Hawerden a small farming community North of Christchurch between Hurunui Hotel and Waikari on the way to Christchurch. Opened just over month. It is off the main tourist track. Beautiful views and the surrounding farming areas. It has a Golf course nearby I just had an egg Benedict for lunch with salmon. The best I had. Not the sauce covered the whole meal but given in a small dish for you to control how much you want! Good selection of drinks! Well presented; good decor and an option of outside seating. This is a much nèeded hub for the community to get together after a hard day at the paddock or a bad day at the golf to share the almost birdie butt or how much rain in your rain gauge! Hawérden is a great example of the rural NZ where farming is the backbone of the community. Hardworking and genuinely friendly. Tourist NZ or people thinking coming to NZ ; if you want to mèet the local go to Hawerden; stop at the Hurunui Hotel for example the oldest operating hotel in country. Go off the beaten track and walk on the friendly side forr a while!!!

Great dining and service at a reasonable price. The Baked Alaska was fantastic and pork ribs were awesome.

A great place to stop in for a top selection of food and service for both the adults and the kids, well worth the small deviation from the main road!

Amazing!!!! Had an absolutely delicious lunch with my partner and 2 youngest and it was a great environment and friendly helpful staff.

On the way north to a Rally great place to stop and get coffee and fuel the motorcycle next door.

Great food, really enjoyed meal there

Unfortunately it was their day closed when l was there but, l checked with locals who said it was fantastic. Will try again next time l'm in the area.
