L.Wow. Just... wow. The food was utterly exquisite, and the service just as good. The cocktails were also devine.
I'm a complete fuss pot, but decided to branch out of my comfort zone and try the 'trust the chef'.
The chef is highly trustworthy - so much so that I overheard a couple trying to decide what they wanted and told them to trust the chef. They loved it so much I got called a legend when they thanked me for the recommendation.
I trust the chef with my life now.
M.Went to The Monday Room tonight for my brother in law's birthday. First time for me and my husband. Was Trust the Chef menu... Absolutely beautiful food.. I tried everything and even though I am not a huge red meat eater, I tried the raw beef...sorry can't remember the name... was okay but not really my thing so wouldn't eat again. Also had superb service. Thoroughly recommend. Compliments to the chefs.

Great service, industrial moody atmosphere, and simply the best food. Beautifully balanced, great flavors and lovely to look at. Highly recommend as the money is well worth the experience.

Their entrees are life changing. I’ve had the venison, and the lamb ribs. Both of them were some the most delicious food I’ve had.
You order the sides to full yourselves alongside the mains, and trust me, you won’t have room for desert.
Ive been there 3 times. 2nd and 3rd times were months apart. Some how the lovely waitress remembered us, where we sat, and almost exactly what we ate.
This is the place a go to reward myself with an awesome culinary experience.

N.On my birthday, I took three dear fiends out to dinner and we threw caution down the stairs, belaboured it about the shoulders, boxed its ears and told it never to darken our door again: we ordered the chef's special. Every dish from the pumpkin pesto and the thinly sliced near raw venison, to the beef wellington to the pan fried groper to the smoky rarest of rare steaks was perfection itself, perched on several plates. The conversation sparked and the drinks were regularly charged, and the meal would have freed the tongue of the most taciturn Trappist.
I swear to dog, make it to the Monday Room before you die. Some things are better said and resaid.
s.Different menu had degustation, some plates a little cool arriving to the table but still tasty. Nice atmosphere and decor. Bottle of wine very expensive even comparing to michelin star restaurants in Auckland or Wellington. Ask for price before you buy.

Lucy our host was simply amazing. She made us feel so welcome and her polite, timely attention to every detail was just perfect.
Add the lovely decor and well presented quality menu and it for sure will be a place we will be returning to enjoy with our family and friends.

A.Sunday Long Lunch at its very best !!!
We had an outstanding "Trust the Chef" lunch for about 30 , it was spectacular in every sense. We had vegetarions, vegans and meat eaters and they catered so so well!! And as for those mushroom doughnuts - not to be missed. The food presentation was just beautiful. Thanks, looking forward to another delicious meal soon.

J.Outstanding food! We came here for a date night and followed the advice of the waiter to "Trust the Chef". He knew it was our first time here and promised us we would not regret the decision. My wife is vegetarian, I am not, and they were still able to provide us with individual dishes as well as "to share" dishes. The vegetarian options were well thought out and were as equally appealing as the meat dishes. If you're looking for a dining experience a little different than the usual, then trust me, trust the chef!
P.Tucked in amongst the deleric buildings on High St and leaning beams, the Monday Room offers an exciting dining experience that matches those of Melbourne. Modern decor in contrast with the façade coupled with welcoming staff makes us want to come in and indulge ourselves. Started off with Mango Daiquiri, then we decided to go with the most expensive Chef's Selections at $60 per head. This was when the Asian dining style came in with plate sharing. It was a bit messy but fun. Probably not recommended when they were 12 of us but perhaps better in smaller groups. The food consisted of local ingredients mixed with exotic ones. The rare beef capachio with grilled cherries and the fish scallop ceviche served in prawn crisps were great Entreé. Then mains were crispy roast pork, kumura gnocci with sage butter, asparagus with cured bacon, to name a few. Highly recommended on High St.
T.We celebrated a 40th birthday here on Saturday night and went with the trust the chef option - It was absolutely delicious and great portion sizes. I'm looking forward to our next visit.

J.Our party of 4 was looking for the perfect place to eat, to celebrate many recent achievements.
We found TMR online, and made a reservation, for the $45pp 'Trust the Chef' dinner.
The online reservation system was easy to use, and sent out a reminder/confimation via email.
Finding parking was a bit of a challenge, but we found a empty spot on one of the nearby streets, and paid approx $3.50 for an hour.
We walked in, and we were met with a warm environment and a lovely smile from Chris the bartender/check-in man. He introduced himself, and showed us to our reserved table upstairs.
He offered to take our coats too, which was a nice touch.
Our table was well lit, clean and the area was heated comfortably.
Our server introduced herself, and told us how the 'Trust the Chef' dinner works like a banquet style meal for the table.
She was professional, friendly and spoke clearly. She showed us the drink menu, (which sadly only had alcoholic choices), but she did voice the non alcoholic beverages to us. We ordered some juice, and she made sure we were comfortable before departing.
5 minutes later, the starters/entrees came out. They were ASTOUNDING. Not only was the taste superb, but the serving size was extremely generous. We were also impressed at how quickly it was brought out, and how it was beautifully plated. We forgot to take photos, as they looked so scrumptious, so apologies.
The drinks arrived shortly after, they came with a dried peice of fruit, ice cubes and metal straws, which another nice little touch.
The mains followed 10-20 minutes later, and again, very generous portions, beautifully plated, and extremely tasty.
There was still a bit left, so our server offered to pack it up for us to take home, which was also very nice.
It came back in a lovely small container.
She asked if we wanted to have any deserts, and showed us the menus. We were sadly a bit too full, and so we declined. The price range of deserts are around $12-$19, unsure on size.
I do not wish to spoil the surprise of what we had to any upcoming patrons. Please take my advise and try this option for yourself.
Some improvements would be, if TMR displayed parking areas & rates on the website and added the non-alcoholic drinks to the beverage menu. Apart from that, everything was excellent. We wish we had this chef at home. ;)
If we are in need to find a high-class, high-value restaurant, with friendly and comfortable service, for for any future celebrations, we will be back again.

R.Loved it! Highly recommend the chefs choice option on the menu, $45 per head, you get a selection of the chefs favorite entrees and mains. Well worth the money. More than enough food and got to try something different that we wouldn't have ordered otherwise. Great building and great service.

D.I feel like I went to a completely different restaurant compared to the others. It was more fancy pub food than fine dining, I’m hoping I can try again and have the experience that others had. Looking at their social media none of what I got looked even close to what I seen on there.
C.Amazing food and really good atmosphere. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. On the menu is a watermelon and strawberry salad - since there wasn't any watermelon they substituted in grapes instead. It was such a flavour win!! The ribeye was cooked well, and the gnocchi was some of the best I've had for a while. To finish try the hazelnut chocolate mousse with shortbread cake and apricot sorbet ... So good! Will definitely go back.
M.1st time to The Monday Room. We were a drop-in on a Saturday night and fortunately they had room for us. We had the "Trust the Chef" and loved it - all of it. The lamb was especially devine! Very, very good value for money.

M.Fabulous food, start to finish. Armaretto was good too. Music comes through multiple speakers so none if them were turned up excessively which is great if you want to talk. Get Trust The Chef, you won't be disappointed.

I can not rate this enough, the selection of dishes brought to us and the different flavour explosions left us speechless, which is hard to do! The food was flawless, I could not fault anything. Amazing service, delicious cocktails and mouth watering food. Definitely will be back!

They even pay attention to the little details, which turns you from just another number, to being catered to exactly what you want. When I booked a table online, I asked for a cozy spot in the corner, or against the wall, and booth style seating..... well, we got every single one of those!! I could go on, but truly amazing dining experience and I will most certainly return for more. Thanks so much The Money room and staff.

T.Excellent restaurant. We had the Trust The Chef which was very very good. Two different entrees & two differet mains to share. Portion sizes are adequate for the quality of the food. Fantastic service. Car parking close by. Great bars close by for pre-dinner drinks.

J.This was our favorite place in 2017 & 2018. However my coworkers and I (usually we went there as a group of four) witnessed a different experience this year. We finally were a group of five.
However. Why 3 stars? The food was still very good and I think the team in the kitchen is doing an outstanding job to get these flavors together. Same for the dessert chef. Portion size of the mains could definitely be bigger. The desserts were ok portion-wise. But the overall experience was lacking under lower service quality. There was no friendly greeting after entering and it took over 10 minutes to seat us upstairs. Nobody was coming downstairs while we waited at the bar so we were surprised that all tables in the room upstairs (where the other register is located) were free when we finally got seated. We ordered a lot of dishes and unlike the recent years this time all our servers appeared to have no emotions/kindness while serving /contact with the guest. This did not match the price tags in the menu.
If we had to guess it seems to us like the kitchen stuff is the same and the management changed. We will check it out next year again but this experience was a bummer.

A.Trust the chef was a scary thought but the food and wine were amazing! We had a groupon voucher given as a gift and were treated to the same brilliant service that we saw other diners getting. Definitely will be back and will bring others.

P.Set menu 'trust the chef's' is a scam to get more money. When in groups, they try convince you to do set menu. This is an option and should be treated as such!! Food is good and you don't walk away hungry but if ordering just one main you will be hungry. Desserts are way way overpriced for what you get, worse than the mains. Redeeming feed of the place is great atmosphere and acoustics which often is overlooked by alot of restaurants.
S.Amazing food! The staff are very nice and helpful. You can tell each dish has a lot of effort put into it and from a very talented team of people. They are very accomodating to vegans and every dish I've had has been delicious, not many restaurants can pull off good vegan dishes.
p.Amazing and delicious! A true culinary experience! They make you feel special and the surroundings are elegant, yet cosy, without the pretense. The food is too die for... You must do "trust the chef"! The chef mixes offerings from the menu to make a banquet style meal. They were also accommodating of my vegetarian friend for the banquet. And to top it off, really reasonably priced!
