Lovely experience. Helpful and friendly staff. Lovely ambience and music. The food was great. We dine in just after lunch ( after we finished Driving Creek railway at 3pm) so we didn't really have space in our tummy to eat a heavy meal. Loved the oysters. Just divine. Also theTacos taste fantastic too. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

We ate here twice during our short stay in Coromandel town. The server was very happy and helpful. The food was delicious (I may have overestimated my own tolerance for spicy food with the beetroot and chickpea curry, but the cauliflour couscous salad was to die for). The desserts were just perfect and not over large. If I lived closer, it would become my go to restaurant.

I am extremely happy with the food and service at Pepper Tree Restaurant and Bar. We visited it on 28 Dec for lunch. We ordered seafood chowder, Buffalo Road pizza and BBQ pork ribs. All the food was extremely delicious and was just melting in our mouths! We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch there. Prices were reasonable. The portions were very generous, that we couldn't finish our food and had the left overs packed to take home. Our waitress was lovely: she checked on us a couple of times. Thank you, guys! I highly recommend this place.

Visited pepper tree during our trips to New Zealand earlier this year. Nice outside dinein place for lunch love the pizzas and the lip smacking dessert. Could also get fish and chips they usually have freshly caught fish of the day if I'm not mistaken. Good place to go with friends for an nice experience.highly recommend if someone visiting Corramndal. very convenient on the way to the train ride in the hills

Our first experience of the Coromandel! We popped in for lunch and tried a couple of different things. Been very spolit to have had Blyff oysters on numerous occasions so decided to try the coromandel oysters! Definitely worth a try as very different (in my opinion) than the bluffies. Also had the calamari and the Bang Bang salad with chicken which was different. Worth coming back for dinner .

All the food was great but the chowder and raw oysters were particularly spectacular! I've had many different types of oysters before and these were by far the largest, meatiest, and had the most flavor. Really enjoyed the staff as well! Plus free WiFi for travelers!

Stopped by this place on the way to the driving creek railway and weren't disappointed. We ordered 2 pizzas off the menu and a couple of desserts and everything was to our satisfaction. The places mostly serves pub food which mean quantity is not an issue. Our waiter was quite polite and service was fast. Would definitely stop by this place should it pop up on our way again. And definitely have the sticky date pudding. Quite delicious.

We had a gorgeous time at the Pepper Tree Restaurant in Coromandel! The food was great and we were surprised at how KETO friendly the steak and vegies meal was. The staff were wonderful. They laughed with us, because of us, and perhaps even at us and it was fun. We walked past the Pepper Tree restaurant many time and we now regret every one of those times!

Food was divine compliments to the chef my family throughly enjoyed their dinner although the service was let down with 1 waitress who is only there to get paid her attitude is appalling definitely not the right person you would want welcoming nor serving guest but still a well deserved 5 stars for the chef and the other 2 waitresses we had.

The second time we have been here, this time I tried the brisket burger and fries - fantastic meal! The waitress looked after us really well, all the staff from those delivering food, clearing dishes or just passing a cheeky comment on the way past gave the place a good vibe. There is a good range of drinks, food and the coffee was even good. Will be back again when we get a chance to head that way again!

Good food place for a small gathering, Reasonably priced given the quality although slightly on the pricey side. The staff were incredibly helpful and knows their menu well. The food came out a little slow however which was unfortunate as it was very good elsewise. Definitely worth a look should you be in the area.

Very nice place for a meal. I'd eaten well elsewhere in Coromandel Town, but this was still the better meal. I had that steak fillet, which was nicely done, a good thickness, and plenty of veg and potato. Others have said the servings are large (mine was just perfect) and that the prices were high, but our meals were reasonably priced. Hopefully people aren't judging prices based on the one $50 steak meal (not mine) alone. Drinks and coffee menus were good, but dessert menu didn't really take our fancy. Plenty of outdoor and indoor seating, and all nicely lit and atmospheric. We were in a covered outdoor area, which allowed our slightly noisey toddler to be comfortable without disturbing couples having a quiet, romantic meal inside. There are kids' menus with puzzles and colouring on the back along with crayons. High chairs available, plus a box of toys. Service was perfectly adequate, if a bit dry. To be fair, English wasn't her first language and she did a fine job despite the lack of talk.

I visited Pepper Tree with My wife, kids and my parents on 1st Feb for lunch. We ordered chicken Fettuccine, piazza, fish and chips and few drinks. The food was great, staff were very welcoming and interactive specially with our younger son who is on spectrum and great outdoor seating. . Prices were very reasonable. We visited Coromandel for the first time and this place has left a great impression. Highly recommend this place and will definitely dine again

Great little restaurant to eat at. Has a comfy vibe to it. The food is great. Different selection and relatively cheap for what you get. Big portions and quality food. Male server was a hoot. Really nice and accommodating. Recommended the goldsmith cider and it was a treat. We appreciated being left alone to eat our meals and not nagged every 2 seconds by servers "checking up" on us. Seen as we eat out a few times a month, this is the first time we haven't been checked up on every second and it was a really nice change.

Went their to celebrate my 52nd Birthday. I had an entree of seafood chowder and a main of pork ribs. I can honestly say I would have been happy with either of them as my main and nothing else. The food was perfect and the portion size was huge. I thought the price to be very reasonable to. I would recommend to everyone and especially someone who likes a lot to eat. The service was great to with no long delays and friendly staff.

Average menu, service slow to take our order. We were seated outside on a lovely summer's day and expected to have a great experience. We were disappointed. The waitress was slow to take our drink order so we didn't get a beer as quickly as we would have liked. (Which meant we only ordered one each instead of two) The menu was not very broad There were no vegetarian main choices (! ) except the Duck Curry, which could be ordered as a vegetarian meal without the duck. It was nothing special. I regret not going to the Coromandel hotel for dinner as recommended by our motel owner. Lovely patio, ordinary food.

Greenlip mussels with whitewine cream - so fresh you could still taste the ocean! Main was fish of the day (Kingfish) - perfectly prepared and cooked! Dessert was the chocolate fondand with was just like heaven. Everything absolutely perfect and delicious. Definitely worth the money and a must do when in Coromandel area. By far the best restaurant on our travel through NZ.

Avoid breakfast here. Only 3 options for breakfast food (poached eggs, shakshuka, French toast), we had the latter which was okay but not eggy enough and dry due to v little maple syrup. Coffee only finally arrived after we had completely finished eating. It's not often I can't drink a coffee, but after a few sips I had to walk away. Too bad, because other meals here seem to be quite nice. Work on your breakfast menu and get some real beans and people who can make coffee.

Blown away by the food here. Went out for a bite to eat after driving down from Mangawhai Heads. Wasn't expecting much from such a small town but boy, was I wrong! I had half a dozen oysters 'natural' followed by the fish of the day, my wife had the special pork loin then we shared a dessert of creme brulee, washed down with a bottle of Dog Point Sauvignon Blanc... Stunning food, fantastic wine - I haven't had food this good since I ate at a Michelin-starred restaurant in London. Plus only £45pp - if you're in Coromandel and don't eat here, you're a fool...
