I had three delicious gluten free/celiac friendly tacos! The left one (pork and pineapple) was a yummy combo. More fresh than pork and apple. The middle one (paneer and strawberry) was such a unique flavour combination and I'm very glad I chose it to try. It was well spiced and sweet and cheesy. The right one (cheeseburger) was actually my favourite. All the ingredients work well together and it was tasty. We got a gluten free starter too of chips and guacamole. It was yum but there were not very many chips. I got the vodka vanilla and passionfruit cocktail expecting some sweetness from it but it was very sour and had a lemon in it. Maybe I got served the wrong thing?

We went to Amigos in Cromwell last night and I have to say we had a great evening. The food was great, very tasty, reasonably priced. The bar produced some KILLER margaritas too. What made it even better was the the great service from the staff (special thank you to Riley). This seems to a very young team but they were absolutely CRUSHING IT. Seamless and proffessional service. Well done. My new favourite place.

Love the food at this place, always excellent, fresh, clean flavours, not spicy if you don't want. But very flavourful. I like spicy and it really hits the spot. I always come here when I come to Cromwell.

We had a great dinner in their terrasse. Good margaritas and interesting chili ginger beer! Food was good and tasty. Really enjoy the fajitas! Highly recommend.

Went for Tacco Tuesday's Yum yum, mushroom and the sweet potatoes were beautiful! Nice alcoholic drinks too, the bar jar was lovely.

Kind and caring staff. Not a very long wait for food. Fresh and hot food. A bit pricey but it's kind of a luxury Mexican place so it's worth it. Would eat there again.

Case of exceptional luck. Very busy so offered outside table, read menu, offered inside table. Vegetarian options gave us variety and were so yummy. Friendly service just added to a great night. And then we found out it was $5 /Tuesday and so our bill was less than we had anticipated.

This restaurant offers the yummiest food in Cromwell... the soft tacos are just unbelievable... always fresh and juicy! 8 out of 10 times we eat in Cromwell we choose to come here. Staff are very friendly and environment is relaxing... you won’t regret coming here. Sorry I don’t have any photo of the tacos... couldn’t wait to eat as soon as they come out...ha!

Stopped in for lunch. Staff were very friendly and checked on us multiple times. Food was out in about 10 mins and was amazing. Would eat here again and recommend

Cute little Mexican Restaurant in the heart of the Cromwell shopping mall. . Food was great and we managed to get the $5 taco lunch special. . Staff were friendly and although I live in Brisbane I will be back next visit

Only had one night in Cromwell, si glad we picked Amigos to eat in. Although we didn't have a reservation and they were busy they found us a table. We were served by several members of staff and all were friendly and helpful. Service was prompt and most importantly of all the food was excellent. Great atmosphere and reasonably priced.

Best mexican I've had in a while. Had the veggie fajitas. They came out sizzling hot with a flavorful smoky tomato base with fresh fixins!

Staff very courteous . Service was good . We had a meat platter which was very well done and tasteful . Fried cubed potatoes were delicious and crispy . They even have a tequila tasting menu and local Mexican Cerveza .

Decent for a small town Mexican place, I had three yacos, the pork belly wasn't very moist and the pineapple was from a can which was disappointing. The Lamb one was nice but too much mint. The chicken was good. The homemade chipotle sauce is great. The beef on the machos is really good. Busy popular place.

Outstanding Service from Grace and fish tacco is delicious

A wee gem. Yum south American/Tex mex food that deviates from authentic but has all of the right elements. Always allow time. After four visits the average wait time seems to be an hour from ordering to receiving food, last one was two hours!

Delicious food, excellent fast service. A little quirky but in a great way. Definitely well worth the money. I had chicken Nachos ($22) very filling. My partner had a pork burrito ($22) we have big appetites and we were well fed. If we are in Cromwell again, we will be back for another meal.

On point in all regards. Ordered too much, had to eat it all though because was that good. Each taco better than the next. Cocktail good too. Very satisfied. Did not expect such good mexican in Cromwell

It's a great Mexican place to eat. There is a good range of Mexican food to eat there as well as some drinks. The service was fast and friendly and overall to have a good time there won't cost you too much, around 25$ per person for food.

Tacos Tuesday are the best at Amigos, good menu and there is always room for 2 although it can be super busy! Food has always been good, I might recommend to have some more local beers on tap ;) other than that, good service and good food.

I have been here twice on both recent trips to Cromwell. The service is excellent. The food is amazing and there is good beer. What more could you ask for?

Popped in on boxing day in the vain hope of finding coffee. Staff were friendly and helpful, coffees hit the spot and the churros were delicious... If we are ever passing through again, it will be high on our list of places to eat.

Took 3 of my kids here for dinner on a busy Friday night. Great for outdoor dining at this time of the year. Friendly and helpful staff. The food was very good, but not amazing. Enjoyed it better when I was there last year

Had a great night at Amigos. Good food and friendly banter with Chris over English football. Chelsea rules. Shame about the Spurs manager. Also enjoyed Sunday with Toni and other staff. Highly recommended

Went there Friday night. Busy as. Great service from the very polite young man. Two staff come around and asked us how our meal was. Great touch. It's mexican food but not really at the same time as you can buy normal food also, but it was full of flavour.they also had a kids menu which was awesome also.fully enjoyed my night,great service and food, and even colouring for my 2 boys.

Fantastic service. Delicious and fresh food full of flavour. Chicken salad, mushroom taco and platter of meats and treats were all great. Pudding was amazing - should have taken a photo, I vote the Brownie but my husband loved the huge and delicious churros. Thanks Amigos we will be back asap.

It's not bad, good range of tapas etc and friendly staff

I've tried a lot of Tacos and these are some of the best Tacos you can get in NZ... We'll be back again to try some more.

Taco Tuesday for life. This is arguably the best restaurant in Cromwell. As a result, it can get overcrowded. When I visited on a Tuesday, the place was packed, and because they own the bar directly across from this place, the queue for orders was long. We waited around 35 mins for our food to arrive, but the tacos are worth the wait for sure. It might take a while until a worthy competitor arise in this area, so expect this eatery to be busy.

Considering we come across from Queenstown just for Amigos I would say it's pretty good. Serving sizes are generous with an excellent selection. If we lived a little closer I'm sure we would be there more often 😊

Low-key Mexican - and secretly the best steak in Cromwell. Despite being a busy Saturday night during Easter, the crew still kept the friendly service & usual great food quality up: we love the crispy calamari, juicy steaks and superb gratin. I'm almost loathe to give 5 stars in case it gets too popular for us to get a table... but it's worth it. Go, eat, enjoy.

It was absolutely amazing. We had 3 different soft taco's, and it was just great. One of the best, if not the best Mexican food I have had! And the price was not too bad either!

The food and service is really good! Although my order didn't cone to me as I would normally expect - I was pleasantly surprised at the presentation and it tasted great! It has both inside and outside areas with nice big tables to sit at.

The food was great! (Cheers Kamaal) and the waiter who took our bill was pleasant but the initial service from the two dark haired waitresses was pretty bad. They were just talking away at the bar while my date and I were waiting for service. No water was offered either. When I attempted to order at the bar the waitresses were rude.

I dined here last night. Spending a few nights in Cromwell and was recommended it by the owners of the motel I'm staying at. Very good food and friendly staff. Good sized meals. I had enough to take away for another meal. Highly recommend.

Small cosy place. Went there on a Tuesday evening and these guys do $5 tacos on Taco Tuesday. Good selection of veg and non-veg options. My favourite was the steak taco. Can be a bit of a wait for the meal but the quality makes up for it.

Delicious margarita and tacos. I usually don’t like flour shells but these were great - small and grilled before topped. The Carnitas and the Kumara tacos were my favorite. Guac and chips were great too.

Delicious food, great service, and relaxed atmosphere. We were there on a Sunday night and there were just a few others dining. Kym was our server and she was lovely. Will come again!

Tasty tex-mex style cuisine with a fun and vibrant atmosphere. We love Taco Tuesday and always visit Amigo’s on special nights or to entertain friends. The food is very fresh and well prepared. Noah is an amazing bartender, he can mix up any drink you want and delivers every cocktail flawlessly. Pop across to Bargarita after your meal for salsa dancing and more fabulous cocktails. It’s a great night out from start to finish.

The food was great at Amigos. I had the mixed grill, which was a great selection of Mexican styled meats, but was also a good size - I wasn't in a meat coma afterwards. Amigos is partially hidden in the Cromwell Mall but it's well worthwhile hunting it out.

The best food ever, plus the cocktail of the moment was out of sight.

Good Mexican food, nice vibes, efficient service and big hats to wear during the meal. Enjoyed the mojito. It may be useful to make a reservation if you are a bigger group.

Very friendly owners that are helpful and available. The room we stayed in was very clean and beds where super-comfortable. If it would not have been for the fact that the room had a bit of a smell to it I would have given it a 5-star rating!

Got there just as they were about to close the kitchen, but they stayed open for a but longer for me. Nice and friendly staff and a nice steak had. Not just Mexican food either but a good selection.

November 2017 Ok stopped in cromwell specially to try the monday Special $20 rybeye + beer. the steak was pretty good but i really believe that miss some kind of salad (that have the tomato roast). anyway for the price was ok.
