Really lovely place for good pub food. The lady serving was so nice and attentive. Also really good value for the price big servings! Wine list from wineries around the area. A bit more casual down the road from Bannockburn hotel. A place to roll up to in your jandals.

Been here a couple of times and they made lots of improvements with the ambiance PLUS this guy with a nice goatie/beard who was serving us was really wonderful. We enjoyed our dinner because of his humour! 5-stars! Their steak and fries are the best!

Great brunch spot. Breakfast pizza is amazing - it turns out a full cooked breakfast on a pizza is exactly what you need after a day full of wine the previous day. Coffees were lovely, and a great selection of cakes in the cabinet, including gluten free. Good buzz, and popular with the locals.

An awesome lunch spot! We had a big group of 14 for a weekend lunch and the staff couldn’t have been more attentive or helpful. Lovely people, relaxed vibe, simple and delicious food, and very good prices.

We had beef fillet, pork porchetta and fried squid. They are amazing❤️. Dessert are tasty too. Recommend to everyone!

Called in there after long absence from Bannockburn good friendly service and they make the best meaty pies around will go back when i visit next time. Called in there again last week ordered the rabbit pie for dinner but unlike last time the mushrooms in the pie were hard but the worst thing was I felt something sharp in my mouth and it was a rabbits rib which could have happened before to someone else as I saw another rib on the floor . I think more care should be taken in preparing the rabbit meat before cooking it as if someone swallowed a rib it would not be to good for them.

Great coffee and meal, friendly service, nice location. Recommend for a lazy Sunday brunch 🙂

Ordered pizza to go on a crazy long weekend Sunday evening. Team delivered in every way. Pizza was hot, well seasoned, crispy and fresh and ready right on time. Top marks Black Rabbit, you're a fabulous local spot.

Great food, service and lovely outdoor courtyard where our dogs were welcome. Even though a wedding reception was being held inside we could still have a delicious lunch outside. Highly recommend this Cafe if you're exploring Bannockburn

Superb dinner, unexpected gem of a place! Can highly recommend to other travellers. Both Rabbit Pie and Steak with Veg cooked and plated to perfection. Great customer service, attentive staff and very family friendly from moment we walked in the door - even provided our toddler with colouring and crayons in her high-chair which she loved. Thank you for making our evening out so memorable!

We loved Black Rabbit’s Valentines Day menu last night. The three courses were all huge and everything was delicious. Soft shell crab, blue cod and chocolate mouse all done perfectly. Everybody was chatty and smiling from start to finish. We were very impressed and will definitely be returning.

What a brilliant cafe! Stopped in for a lite lunch and coffee and was impressed. The pie was awesome, one of the best I've had and I've had a few over the years. Lovely carrot cake to top it off with a very good coffee. Service was good too with nothing too much trouble despite juggling a reasonably busy lunch time. Friendly too. Would love to come back in the future. Awesome.

Today ( 28th June 2020), Pam & I booked a lunch for 1.15pm. Wow what an awesome little restaurant. The service was A1 + The meals were absolutely awesome!!! I had the venison salad, have to say was the best venison salad I have ever had, that good I went & thanked the young Chef personally... Pam had the "special of the day " steak & onion rings ,salad & string shoe fries $20 !!! Which was equally as good !!! Thank you team, we will definitely be back... Just a really nice place to visit. Well worth the trip out to Bannockburn to try it. Nice, friendly staff which were smiling and helpful. Always greeted when i walk in. I have been out there for both lunch and for an evening meal. In both cases the food has been great and more importantly consistent (top marks to the chefs). There is a good selection of cabinet food and a menu available for something bigger. Prices are reasonable in my opinion. I would suggest booking in advance for an evening meal. A great little country cafe offering great food, coffee and service. (Top marks to the ladies front of house). I would highly recommend.

Called in for a Friday brunch. Fabulous day so sat in shaded outdoor dining area. Limited menu but food did not disappoint. Excellent customer service. Would go again.

We have had some lovely meals while staying in Bannockburn but I think last night's dinner at Black Rabbit tops the lot.

Very disappointing on this visit. 4 of us ordering cabinet food and coffee. 3 lots came out. I asked where mine was and lady said its coming. Had to ask again. Waited for cutlery and had to ask again. Coffees lukewarm.

Delightful service, delicious food and a lovely bit of shady porch to break up a long drive. The veggie burger is especially good. I will definitely be back.

It was VERY busy and it took staff a very long time before they asked if we wanted any drinks. It took over 40mins from the time we got there to receiving our drinks. We also had to ask to place our order as it seemed we had been forgotten about outside. The food was pretty good though. We also had to cancel part of our kids meal (desert) as this had also been overlooked and was going to take too long to bring it out. Poor service / Good food

A good menu with a few options for vegetarians. Good service though and this makes the place well worth a visit. Not much atmosphere indoors but if you can choose a sunny day it's a lovely quiet spot to sir outside.

Ordered a crispy prawn salad & got squid, still tasty but not what I asked for. The young lass who was attending tables should really have her stomach covered. Otherwise we enjoyed the experience

Little gem hidden in town. Less busy as anywhere else at this peak season!! Meat was cooked perfectly, great service as well... Tuna special of the day is delicious, and the sauce of noodles is yam yam!! Pork ribs is very tender. Love all our food. Cream brûlée is a perfect ending for this meal. Highly recommended.

A nice experience dining at the Black Rabbit but the ,I presume Fennel in the meal caused a big digestive problem later.Tasted like aniseed ,I presume that's fennel.? Does not float my boat.

We went to Black Rabbit on Sunday early afternoon for lunch. There were five adults and two toddlers. Absolutely everything was spot on. Coffees, food and especially service. I am looking forward to my next opportunity to visit Black Rabbit. A very enjoyable afternoon Staff exceptional! Food excellent! Very refreshing to find a restaurant that is this good at what it does.

More than a café. Excellent menu for a group event. The staff were first rate. Love the setting. A country restaurant is what I would call it with a first rate chef. I had this pork thing wrapped in pork belly with mashed potato, apple sauce and jus. Was divine.

The only cosy cafe in Cromwell that I’ve found. The wood burner was cranking, the coffee was perfect and the food venison salad was tops. Furthermore, the staff were welcoming and friendly, no sign of an RBF anywhere. My date and I were well impressed.

My partner liked his pie! Parking here is great and plenty of seats. Wasn't too stoked on the quality of the coffee though Unfortunately 😔

We had a staff function at the Black Rabbit and it was superb. The service was excellent and the food was plentiful and delicious. Will definitely return.

This morning was my 3rd visit in 3 weeks touring. Kept coming back for amazing coffee and food and lovely friendly service from the ladies. Well this morning I left without a purchase. I was totally ignored by the barista. I waited 10mins no hello I won't be long a smile zilch. In the end I left. If you are busy at least greet people and say I won't be long.
