Reviews of Burger Plant

Fantastic food, friendly service & great portion sizes!
We ordered the sassy chook & the big boy plus a cheeseburger loaded fries. They all tasted fantastic and I found the cheeseburger fries to really be great value. The chips weren’t soggy at all either which can happen with loaded fries.
The total came down to just over $40, which could have easily fed 3 people.
10/10 recommend!

For the first time I tried my Sassy chook burger lunch so yummy and tasted great for a challenge, which was recommended by a man could be a the manager serving at a counter after looking at the menu board. Then two of us had one each inside a restaurant has some plants with a window view of the sign next to a car park around the corner as photographed in more interesting detail. As seen on its official website name of a location above for me to carry out research in writing this post.
p.
Random and unpredictable opening hours. Just wasted a trip and they were closed, even though according togoogle should be open.
Edit: ok, fair enough, that was a bad coincidence. Sorry, I was hangry, changing to 4 stars, hope that's less petty.
Hell pizza was also closed, so I guess that's one of New Zealand's quirks I have to learn. Do Kiwis not eat on Mondays?
A.
Great service,
Sometimes it's challenging having multiple allergies and being vegan but Burger Plant didn't see the challenge and offered me a delicious Burger Bowl with a friendly smile and great chats.
Will definitely return again and highly recommend 👌

Great food, Great prices and Awesome staff. Best burger ace in town, let alone the best vegan place in town.
R.
Delicious! Very impressed with their range of tasty burgers. I've recommended it to friends and they've all been happy too. Definitely coming back next time I'm in Dunedin
M.
It was good vegan burger! Realized to take the photo after I finished!
C.
Nice location and nice burgers (I had the Big Boy I think it was called, and tried my partner's "lamb" burger). I felt the patties could've been a bit more flavorful but they were still all right and there are lots of other options on the menu I'd like to try next time
E.
I had been looking forward to trying their food for quite some time.
I was certainly not disappointed.
Wide range of menu options. Savoury and sweet, plus drinks.
The chef/owner really knows his stuff and is exceptional at making his food delicious.
Head in and give it a try.

Good food, awesome gf buns!
Shame about the lack of on site loo.... Was told to go to MacDonalds even though I was dining in....felt a bit weird.
Also the staff definitely need cheering up!
Quality is up there, but a few improvements necessary.

Yum! Burger Plant is my absolute favourite vegan spot in Dunedin. The burgers are divine. Unlike some veggie burgers that try to mimic meat, these burgers' flavours and textures shine through all on their own. And the staff is incredibly nice and welcoming. If you are in Dunedin and have a craving for a burger I highly recommend.
P.
Best vegan burgers I have had yet in New Zealand. So tasty, even those who eat meat should give this place a try, super helpful staff... Prices are pretty good too... Will definitely make this my go to eatery when next in Dunedin... Please open a franchise if Hawkes Bay!
S.
This definitely fills a gap and amply satisfies any vegan junk food craving you might have!
K.
Amazing vegan food! So good!! We had the big boi burgers, with two patties. Some chook bites. Some hashies. Some butter chicken loaded fries. And a caramel and strawberry shake. SOOOOO YUM. Everything was amazing. The shakes were the best shakes we've ever had! Can't wait to go back and try more :)

Love the concept and that Dunedin now has a dedicated vegan burger bar. Appreciate it’s a young, new business so still a work in progress. The food was really good, can’t fault it too much at all, although my partner was disappointed they weren’t wholemeal buns as advertised on social media etc. Regardless, the food was still good and we will be back. Improvements we’d love to see is faster turn around on food - we had a bit of a wait (I’m sure this will improve as more efficient processes are ironed out). It would have also been nice to have been made aware of the wait time upon ordering. Keep up the good work Burger Plant team. Look forward to coming back and watching you grow.

The food here is really delicious, but unfortunately I have had a subpar experience. I have been a few times and really enjoyed the chook burger and chook bites, so one afternoon I went and ordered this, but when I had gotten back to where I planned to eat and opened up the burger, I realised there was no red onion or tomato on the burger as there usually is! I'm also convinced the chook bites were not as they usually were this time and instead cut up bits of the chook patty - still yum, but not exactly what I ordered. I guess I'll be checking if my burger has everything next time. The food was still good, I was just a bit disappointed. I understand that maybe they ran out of some things, but I'd really prefer to know this beforehand. So overall, good food, but the service missed a bit that time. (Also there can be really quite long wait times at night). It's great to see a local small business showing people just how good vegan food can be but it's a shame if people aren't actually getting what they paid for sometimes.
E.
Wow, just had my first lunch at Burger Plant. It was so delicious. Perfect flavours, just the right crunch and tang in the toppings, yummy bun, patty was to die for, fries dangerously tasty. I'll be back. Thanks!
G.
Always craving the loaded fries and the sundaes!! Never disappointed, love your work
J.
I saw Burger Plant as my partner and I were waiting at the red light across the street, thought it was funny and jokingly asked him if he wanted a bite, he said why not, let's try it and so on we went! The guys there were super nice and friendly, food was really tasty, we had the "bacon & cheese" bites and the cheeseburger combo, we don't usually eat vegan food but man, that was some good food! The fries were so tasty too! Well done, Burger Plant!
J.
I love to see vegan food that is reasonably priced and tastes good, thankfully Burger Plant ticks both of those!:) So far the chook fries are my favorite, I like the lambless as well but found it a bit oily for me.
N.
Excellent! 10/10. Simple, Delicious & amazing value! Please make these nation wide. The best burger I’ve ever had 👏.
P.
Amazing vegan friendly burgers. The burger sizes are huge and also it's tasty. I know some of you are skeptical about it. To be honest, even my meat lover friends also find the burgers are tasty
R.
Great burgers and fries, slow as and not really together service....nowhere to sit ( not taken up by nattering students)
But, good burgers!
F.
It delivered on the expectations.
I've been looking for vegan options in Dunedin and this one was on the bucket list for some time
We tried two if the burgers and they were both very tasty.
C.
Really yum, super fast and friendly, great menu!

Great Tasting Food,Great Service
Before the lockdown I went to Burger Plant for lunch and wow what an experience. Unlike alot of burger joints burger plant is vegan and caters for your allergies. I had a great burger full with amazing flavour and texture. Was a journey for my taste buds. Also the service was amazing with the staff catering for my allergies. I would reccomend burger plant to people worldwide. And I would definitely be going back for more and with new tech and recipes coming you can count me in. In my view as a diploma student in hospo management. I see burger plant becoming the new trend and up and coming Burger joint in 2020. They may even be a to show Burger King and mc Donald's a few things. Keep the great work up burger plant.
A.
The most delicious chips in Otago, possibly the world! Super easy order & pay online option. Off road parking outside for quick pick up. The Big Boi burger beat me - a super filling & savoury burger with yummy suprise onion ring under the lid. Highly recommended 🌟 💖🌟
H.
Spoilt for choice so split the Cheeseburger, Chook burger, Fush burger and Big Boi between 3. They were all stellar. The buns are fluffy and fresh, sauces are Devine and the faux meat is delicious! Wish there had been a little more fish in the fush-burger, an option to add extra meat would have been good here. Will definitely be back though!
Best vegan burgers I’ve had in Dunedin.
M.
Very tasty burgers here. The loaded fries are pretty good too. Highly recommended to all, not just vegans!
C.
Since getting diagnosed with a gallstone , I have had to avoid fatty foods. This means no burgers 😭 unless you find an alternative . Burger plant is a great alternative 🥳, the food is amazing and the staff are helpful and friendly
R.
Loved the food! Plus the staff were bubbly and bright! Awesome to see a locally owned restaurant make such great vegan food! 5 stars!
S.
Yom. This is one of the "healthier"options in Dunedin. I thoroughly enjoyed it and staff are also very lovely. I was served by a dude with brown hair? Idk, he was chill tho.
B.
Yum. Could do with more flavour in the falafel. Suggestion to owner. A bit more cumin, a pinch more salt, add a wee bit of pepper & try mixing with broad beans. Give it a go cos the falafel's nice but don't you want to best. A surprise with the cheese & bacon bites. wasn't expecting that. Very tasty.
D.
was skeptical but it was a good burger. very different taste to a traditional cheese burger but appealing in a different way. plenty there with lits of flavour. will go back to try other options in future.
G.
Fantastic vegan burgers.
Highly recommend.
C.
Food was really fast, loved the 'Cheeseburger' and 'Chinatown' burger, they aren't the type to make you feel nasty afterwards, which is probably good........ We got cheese n bacon chook bites and they needed way more sauce, potentially overcooked, too dry, they were a bit bland too, texture was pretty good inside though. Chocolate donuts were perfect donut consistency but could do with more choccy sauce, double at least. Will be back for sure
A.
Had the big boi burger and it was absolutely delicious. So flavourful and had lots of things going for it like the onion rings and aioli. Will definitely be going back!
R.
Excellent food, don't need to be Vegan to love these burgers
M.
Best burgers I've had in Dunedin! And everyone has to try the loaded fries, life changing vegetarian food right here!
