L.Excellent service. Best "cook your own steak" experience here. Spacious. Would come back here again with friends in the future.
C.Lovely outdoor seating with views of city hall and the church. I enjoyed a no-mojito and we also ordered a hazy Ipa it was apparently happy hour but still ended up paying 19 bucks. Pricey but understandable these days! Give this place a try!
C.Perfect place to dine solo or for group dinner. Also this is one of the few restaurants that serves stone grill steaks + lobster tail at a very reasonable price. Happy to dine here again next time I’m in Dunedin.
B.Nice place to come for Happy Hour with well priced drinks. And $11 for a double shot of CC is almost unheard of in NZ. Food was good and the service was quick. Basically good bar food on offer here and we really enjoyed our company so it was a great night.
Slightly random that the volume on the TV went up high for 10 mins. It was a provincial basketball game that, although had a local team, no one was watching.
V.Great selection of beers, food was good. One of our group had stray shell fragments in chowder, but staff rectified to a satisfactory outcome. Would definitely return
T.CBK is a place I would highly recommend. The hotplate meals are great, Bluecod fish n chips is phenomenal, great selection of beer and very down to earth and nice staff. The seafood chowder had some small shell shards in it but it was taken off the bill with no problems. Loved the atmosphere and overall very happy with everything.
a.Service was very good. The food was slightly over priced for the quality. The drinks were great value though. Unfortunately they had no paywave which caused a bit of an issue with payment
G.Enjoyed the experience. Ordered the oysters for starters and the blue cod as a main , both very good. Next time I would take a bit more time with the menu as It was quite extensive . Hitting happy hour was a bonus . Liked the idea of the hot stones for steaks etc , would give that a go next time . Service was good .
S.Had a great time here at dinner with a great experience with cooking my steak on the hot stone... It was really delicious as I cooked it to my own specifications and when my fries cooled a bit I warmed them on the stone too...
Just dont touch it with your hand as it is super hot, a warning for those that never experienced this before... The craft beer is amazing and the staff is super friendly
T.Friendly service and quick, a nice snack we had, but it would be nice to have a small portion/ entrée that was not fried or battered or bread, it is so hard to find this in NZ. Would definitely recommend.
T.Stopped in for Desserts and Cocktails. All of which were excellent. Nice service and friendly staff. Cocktails were good and the Desserts fantastic. Will be back.

S.My Husband and I were looking for somewhere to have lunch on a cold day. We were checking out the menu to see if there was anything G/F that I could eat. Then just as we were to walk away a very helpful staff member asked us to come in. She found out from the kitchen what I could have to eat. We were the only ones in the Bar. They got us to sit by the heaters. So impressed with our meal it was amazing. A G/F Burger with chips loved it. My Husband loved his steak bun and chips. Started off great with lovely service, drinks and garlic bread HOWEVER it then took a dive with the main meals. Chicken burger, rib-eye and fish and chips were VERY average sadly.
For what we paid for our meals we had expected a lot better.

Me an my partner went here for breakfast in Sunday and was so good we had to come back that night for dinner!!!! Best food we have ever had here and our new favourite/regular. R.Four of us dined here for dinner on a Friday night. Place was packed outside as sunny evening. Quiet inside. All the food was very nice and good sized portions. The males couldn't decide on what beer to have so got to sample a few. Service was good except at end when we had to approach bar for desert menu. Would return when in Dunedin again.
S.5 stars due to Shania, our waitress, being absolutely outstanding. Friendly, attentive, and fast. Paid individual attention to all 10 people in our group. She is amazing. GIVE THIS GIRL A RAISE!!!!

S.Tried their smoked chicken with veges and a good dark Stout 😋.... was eyeing their jaffa hot chocolate for afterwards but was too stuffed. Kids had gourmet burger, fish n chips. DM had steak, egg n chips. Beautiful central spot, gorgeous menu & attentive staff, lovely ambience.

G.Great service from a lot of friendly and efficient staff. The meals came out very fast although the mains were a little early as I hadn't finished my starter and others had only just finished. Starters, mains and desserts were all delicious. Definitely a place to come back to. The prices were very reasonable too.
S.Nothing special, steak sandwich was nothing to rave about, a friend's lobster tail was sent back, but a good beer selection. Expensive for what we got.

P.We stopped in for lunch today at CBK. We enjoy Stonegrill and it's not that common these days so CBK was the place. The meals were awesome. Beautiful steak and other meats all cooked to perfection on the hot stones. Lovely fresh salads to go with the nice, lean meat as well. There are plenty of other options if you prefer a more normal restaurant experience as well. We had the Pics Peanut Butter Cookie desert to finish up with coffee. It was unbelievable how good that cookie with ice cream is. I'd come back for that alone, but that's not doing justice to everything else. Our server was delightful too. Can't really ask for more. Really loved our lunch here on the Octogon. Will be back.

S.Nice beer tasting samplers, although pricy. They sell hot stone meals, means people cook at the table. So everyone enjoys the cooking smell... Meal sizes are quite big. Staff was friendly but - as almost everywhere - slow.

S.One of my go to places in Dunners for lunch and Dinner. Food has always been superb and no complaints but today ordered the pizza. I did read the description, cast iron 6 inch pizza ($14.90) until it turned up and realized there was this tiny pizza (4 bits) that wasn't really gourmet. A big let down, I could of bought 3 $5 value pizza from dominoes which would of tasted better. Need to sort that guys.
M.We had the lamb two types(loin and rump) on the stonegrill. The service we received was great and friendly. The meat was tasty and tasted great on the stone grill. The sides and sauce were pretty average hence the low stars. The roast potatoes werent crispy and lacked flavour and the salad was limp and very small. The mint jus sauce was ok but didn't really add to the dish. For 38 bucks this felt pretty steep for what we got.

A.We were 4 of us and we loved everything about it. I had a beautiful cider, tacos and oysters. They had steak on the stone, a burger and chicken wings, a lychee beer and pinot grigio. Food was lovely, service and people were lovely.

I looked up a few recipes for mocktails and together with Olive we came up with a brilliant drink. Congratulations on this. It is massively important that bars offer non alcoholic alternatives .
CBK already has a couple of mocktails but to have them appreciate the need for them is wonderful. Very well done.. Cheers and thanks Peter Chatteris

I.Great stone grill restaurant. We book on Bookme and eat the main dine. $31 can choose four meat & two dishes & one sauce. Really tasty to me.

O.Really nice staff. Can't talk about the food though, but the craft beers they have are good. And the staff advised me some things to do in the city, which was really nice too.
G.Amazing range of craft, draught beers: Plum Cider, Zoolong Tea Brown Ale to name but two out of their offering of twelve. My wife and I both ordered the fresh fish chowder. (It turned out to be a sort of Cullen Skink ... but made with smoked cod instead of Finnan Haddie, and with the addition of assorted seafood such as scallops, prawn and the like). Not what we were expecting, but actually very tasty. (I confess to a liking of Cullen Skunk, so anything that resembles it scores highly with me).

H.Had dinner in here the other week. Lovely service and really great drinks from the bar. The food though, severely unimpressed by the bruschetta and "buffalo" cauliflower bites, which had absolutely no spice or flavour to them whatsoever. Keen to support local businesses but it was a bit of a let down.
