What a hard-working team. We went as a group of 25+ and they patiently worked through everything. The ambience is a little loud for big groups on a Saturday night but all the more credit to the staff. The decor is tasteful but practical - this spot is about function over form - and the real draw is the food. No wonder the place was packed! I would happily order any of the many dishes I sampled tonight. The chefs there must be masters of their craft - after so many disappointments in other places it was such a relief to have such a range of tastes and flavours so satisfying. My friends' dietary requirements were easily accommodated and everything was delicious. Even dishes I normally would avoid such as the eggplant were melt-in-the-mouth triumphant. Our host was busy but unfazed and the staff were efficient and assured. Timing was off on some orders but it was a mammoth task and the results were always worth the wait. Even the range of teas was a surprise - our choice of Chrysanthemum was a gift that got better and better. I highly recommend Impressions even if you only just 'like' Chinese cuisine - you may end up leaving knowing you 'love' it!

Absolutely fantastic! The service was very nice, all the staff are so welcoming. The skewers were the best one i've tasted in south island, all the dishes was delicious and clean. The enviroment is nice and cozy too. 100 percent recommend.

All of the food that we ordered were yummy. It is especially good if you go with friends and order different dishes and share. You will end up being super full with a smile on your face. The ambient atmosphere is great too. I liked the rotating table where you can turn the table to pass the dishes to others. Must try.

That’s the best Sichuan food in Dunedin! Actually I want to say the best Sichuan food in South Island. We are from Chengdu. The spicy crayfish is better than Chengdu. 5 stars recommend!

Dinner here was a great experience. The food, while being slightly (very slightly) pricier than other Chinese restaurants is completely justified because the food is also better and really well thought out. Their tofu is absolutely amazing and they make it themselves!! There are a few staples missing from the menu hut you honestly won't miss them at all, especially because there were a few dishes we had which I'd never had before and there were so good. Dessert was also great since I've never really had dessert at a Chinese restaurant before, and it felt authentic and was really yum. The staff are probably the highlight though, we felt really looked after and they were so friendly and ready to answer questions. Will definitely be back.

1st time here we had to wait quite a while (35-40mins) but it was quite a busy nite. The food was delicious and we will dine here again.

Had takeaways. My chicken and cashews were supposed to have vegetables. There was spring onions only. It was so hot with chillies it burned my mouth. A bit disappointing

Stumbled on this through the DeliverEasy portal, and thought we'd give it a try as the menu looked interesting and varied, not your standard NZ somewhat bland "Chinese" fare. We're so glad we did! We ordered two entrees and two mains and were impressed to have not one, but two, bowls of each main in the delivery. Suddenly we have enough for a full meal again tomorrow! And the tastes are amazing. Very good value, we'll be back - quite likely we'll dine in next time. My sister-in-law is from Northern China, so we have a place we can take her for dinner when they visit Dunedin.

Authentic as well as innovative in the flavours.

I would say it is one of the most authentic Chinese restaurant in Dunedin. Basically you cant go wrong with anything on the menu. The staffs are very helpful and friendly. In addition they do hotpot in winter :)) the environment is very nice and cleans, great for group gatherings and dates

Absolutely awesome. Intended not to have dinner, but lured by the 5star rating, so had more than usual. Genuine Chinese food and suggest anyone coming down there to check this out.

Hidden gem if you're in a low budget. Huge portions and very authentic Chinese food. Not the flashiest interior design but the customers all seemed to be really enjoying the food. Suitable for vegans as well. Worth a visit if you want to go out but don't have alot to spend. Very welcoming staff as well.

taste is absolutely great! one of the best chinese restaurants ive been to for sure. portions may be towards the smaller end though, but good enough for an average person's appetite. would recommend to everyone and would like to go back again

We went for lunch at this restaurant to celebrate my friend's Mum's birthday. There was about fifteen in the party. Nothing special about the food. We ordered ahead of time so we were served right away when we arrived. We had the place to ourselves at that time as none else was there except us. I won't be going back in a hurry. The food wasn't cheap.

We had a wonderful meal, the staff we so helpful. I asked them to do us a banquet for 11 pp and it was amazing and so affordable. We all had a great night.

The staff were so kind and lovely and the food was so divine, infact It was to die for! I totally recommend to any family or group or anyone wanting to get a taste of real chinese culture.
