M.My fav vegan place in Dunedin. The staff is super friendly and the food is really tasty. They also do really good smoothies and homemade fresh drinks, so yum!

A.I have been watching the kind company since they opened and was very excited to try their delicious looking food.
As someone with allergies to gluten, soy, peanuts and coriander I always ask the servers their recommendations before ordering, when I asked on my visit the server seemed very worried and said that they used a lot of peanuts and could not ensure me that there would be no cross contamination. Though from the menu it didn't look like many peanuts were prevalent and there were no warnings of this.
Aside from the servers radiating fear I still wanted to try the food so I asked if they could please just do their best to create a meal that wouldn't be contaminated.
I ordered the cheese burger, and upgraded to the beyond pattie.
The burger came out and it was only a gluten free bun, a beyond pattie (both over cooked) two slices of pickle, tomato sauce and Lettuce. Which was disappointing for a $20sh? burger......I make beyond burgers at home with more flavor, fillings and cooked much better. I definitely think more effort could have gone in to this.
Our meal for 2x burgers, 1x chips and 2x shakes was $74 while I don't mind paying for great food and great service rhis was not it. The chips were also over cooked and the shakes were a bit confusing flavor wise I couldn't tell if the shake was trying to be healthy or decadent.
Plus points were we had nice vibes and service from the pink haired server, loved the decor and loved the concept of the menus. Suggestions would be to be more open and receptive of allergy patrons and have more options/flexibility when it comes to serving them.
I would definitely be open to trying again if I felt more welcomed and catered to.
T.I do love this café, and I appreciate what they can do with vegan food! However it is often disappointing, and quite pricey. A lot of the main dishes lack flavor and variety, I want them to just try something new and exciting- there is definitely potential here! I enjoy their cocktails (wish they were open later!) and their pastries/ doughnuts, as well as their hot drinks so you can't go wrong there!
S.Lovely ambience and very spacious. Plenty of choices on the menu. I had the mushroom melt burger and a strawberry and cream shake. The burger was amazing and the shake was so yummy!
N.Had an amazing group work dinner here. Most of us are not vegan/vegetarian so didn’t know what to expect with the food but it was absolutely delicious! Awesome range to choose from and the flavours were amazing. Will definitely be returning and telling all our friends :)

A.I always come crawling back to Kind Company in pursuit of an easy vegan meal, and every time I'm just a wee bit disappointed. There is a fantastic range of made to order and cabinet goodies but they never quite hit the spot. On this occasion I treated myself to the Big Breakfast, which was big and yummy but a bit pricy ($26).
Where Kind Company definitely falls short is its coffee. I ordered an Oat Flatwhite, which was so hot it burnt my mouth and the combined flavor of bitter burnt coffee and flat burnt oatmilk was undrinkable. At a previous visit, I have sent the coffee back and recieved a new one that tasted exactly the same, so on this occasion I did not bother.
The atmosphere is buzzy and the staff are lovely, I haven't tried any of the cocktails here, so maybe next visit I'll have to.

Just had a choc strawberry tart (which the lovely lady behind the counter suggested) and it was unbelievably delicious!
M.Thank you so much. The cake was so beautiful 🌼 and so delicious 😋. This was a chocolate cake with raspberry and vanilla cream frosting.
My friends were so surprised that this was an entirely plant-based cake. Really glad that I got them thinking (even for a min), you really don't need eggs or dairy for a delicious cake. And do checkout the cupcakes and donuts at Kind Grocer. They're heavenly.
M.Awesome little cafe . Vegan vegan vegan !!!!! I’m not vegan but my daughter and friends are so I gave it a go . Beautiful food well presented and tasty. I had a potato salad and a sneaky glass of sav ! Delicious . My daughter had an iced chocolate drink which I first died at the price but once it came out I saw why!. It was decadent and delicious. The coconut cream on top was a highlight as well as the raspberry and chocolate bits’ on top. Lovely staff and cool place . Thanks, keep up the great work

D.I purchased the "After Dinner Mint" and "Peanut Cacao Fudge" raw slices on Saturday night. I love that Kind is open on a late night and still have raw slices available for a healthy treat when having a night in. These were the best raw slices I have ever had! The flavors were perfectly balanced and present - not sickly sweet either. Also the server on Saturday night, he was absolutely lovely to chat to.

G.I came in for breakfast yesterday morning and got the big breakfast - my oh my, this was DELCIOUS! Beautifully presented and full to bursting with flavour. I'm not vegan/vegetarian and it tasted better than any standard brekky I've had with animal products! Absolutely beautiful coffee too! I'll be back and highly recommend Kind Company to anyone and everyone.

There's a building range of homemade foods too, I suggest trying the herby hollandaise.

S.I really liked my visit to Kind Grocer! The store smelled sooo amazing, like essential oils. They had plenty of specialty items, such as Nori, Agar Agar, and many beauty products - you should visit if you are looking for something 'unusual'. Lots of vegan items at very reasonable prices too. The lady who served me was really kind (living up to the store name!), and the store was very clean and well-organised.
S.Great vegan café with good atmosphere— exactly what Dunedin (as well as so many other NZ towns) needed! Highly recommend the medicinal mushies latte and cauli wings.
One thing to improve is the website, which seems to be outdated with old location/hours.
Would also be great if they can label which items are nut-free :)

R.This is genuinely an institution if you were into vegetarian and vegan food. Each dish they create has several components each complementing the other. We had babaganush served on ciabatta with pickled cauliflower. Yummmm as. Even the chips were stunning with faux bacon mayonnaise. Coffees with holy cow organic milk hit the spot too. Love this place, they really are kind and generous people.
Another quick visit on a Saturday afternoon for lunch and coffee. Tofu was beautifully glazed with flavorsome sauce, soft and silken inside. Pickled ginger was a perfect match. Dumplings were crunchy and divine stuffing with hints of lemongrass. Also tried potato salad which was fantastic as well. Coffees done to perfection. Awesome work team.
A fee more visits to enjoy lemongrass dumplings. Simply the best ever. Divine flavors. Compliments to the chef.
The coffees were outstanding as well.
