I love Nando's Peri Peri grilled chicken as a flavourful and spicy food. However, this particular Nando's as an outlet (only branch in Dunedin) is quite average, compared to many other Nando's I have tried, especially in Australia they seem to have much higher standards, by comparison. Usually, this brand of restaurants are privately owned franchise stores, but this one is actually a company owned store. Which makes it even more unbelievable, to consistently have an average experience every time I have dined here. At the self service kiosk, either plates or water glasses or cutlery or Peri Peri sauce bottles or paper towls, one or the other are always missing. They're never full / properly replenished. Nothing to take away from staff though, they usually seem welcoming and sincere enough and they seem to try their best, but the fact that every time I go there, there are new staff, trying to do things the Nando's way. Also, they're always advertising for staff. I can't understand, why do they have such high turnover of staff? That too, for a restaurant in a prime location like this particular one? Perhaps, they need to lease this store to a franchisee, who can give it the personal commitment it needs, to lift it from the current mediocrity to a future excellence.

Love the chicken, the spices get in to the bone. Yellow rice is ok, peri peri chips is nice, cooked well. The garden salad is below the standard, the lettuce wasn't fresh, they should check it first before serving to customers. You can have a lot of sauce to choose as an addition. Anyway the place is quite clean and cozy. I'll back next time.

Don't know why this place is considered a fast food place but definitely better than most fast food places. Nicely seasoned juicy chicken and sides. Love the peri peri sauce. I've been there quite a few times and definitely will still come back.

Came here for lunch and got 1/4 chicken (mild) and peri peri chips. Very tasty and cooked perfectly. The staff were very friendly and it was a nice setting. The only reason for 4/5 is that there was a lot of dust and some rubbish under the bar leaner along the front of the restaurant which could be seen from our table. I highly recommend coming here.

Spot on hot chicken with peri peri chips. Great service and inviting ambience. Not sure why bacon is in the menu as many Muslims don't eat at places that might claim halal food but has pork products at premises. Bad decision team

BBQ ribs were grilled perfectly! Manager did so well juggling g vaccine pass checks, uber orders, a full restaurant and the cooking! 4 stars are for her snd the chook. What a lady boss!!

Lovely restaurant to go dining with your mates or for a date. You can choose your own level of spiciness, although I did find the level "hot" to be not too spicey. You can also always add the different sauces yourself afterwards. Another thing, if you order food as a group, it's really easy to split the bill evenly between your mates. 10/10 services. Would go there again.

So delicious!!! Wow Nando’s first-timers here, and I must say, it lives up to the hype. So yummy, fast, affordable and perfectly spicy! The interior is also really cool. And the bathrooms are spotless. Great place for lunch as you walk around the Octagon. Great location ! I am posting a pic of our empty plates- just to show how much we enjoyed our lunch!

Good food and atmosphere. Crazy busy with PINK on but order came out in good time and staff great. Tables hadn't been cleared but understandably and staff apologised.

Got a half chicken, says it's marinated for 24 hours to soak in flavour but looked like a freshly cooked chicken on the inside. Nicely cooked but not that much meat when your paying the price of a whole large chicken at the supermarket to end up with only the skin flavoured. Always enjoy the sauces tho

Love Nando's!! Great great great food. Not processed like Macdonalds and companions nor is it lacking flavor after eating the outside like KFC. Cheap for what you get. If you haven't had Nando's you are missing out. Save money by buying the full chicken with combo. Sounds like I work for them but am truly just a big fan of their food.

Love their new location. Good interior. Food is always good. I like that you can choose the level of spiciness of the food since I am not a fan of very hot and spicy meal; just mild to moderate. Don’t forget to have peri-peri sauce on the side! It complements the juicy, grilled chicken and fries. 😋

I went here with a group of 6 and our order was brought out very quickly, quite impressive considering it was relatively busy. I ordered a haloumi salad, and the haloumi was perfectly cooked and full of flavour, I was very pleased. Affordable prices! Thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The only thing I will say is that if you are celiac or gluten intolerant like me, there is little range and the menu does not indicate gluten free items very clearly

We had a dinner with another couple in this restaurant. It was different from what we were used to. I like the chicken dangling in the skewer and the rice. The taste of their food isn't that great and we have only ever been back once. It took quiet sometime to serve us. The atmosphere is nice and spacious for groups.

The Nando's of Dunedin is not one I recognise from the many Nando's of Western Sydney. Over there you must fight off the infamous bin chickens and seagulls intent on stealing your meal. Nando's of Dunedin is very civilised. It is almost like a restaurant. Punters beware: My chips were so salty I felt my arteries immediately stiffen in protest. They start screaming from inside me, they taunted me, 'Bring on the stomach cancer, heart disease and premature death!' However I enjoyed the burger and I found the cucumber slices inside a novel addition. I found myself wondering if the other people of Dundin Nando's would think it strange if I used the cucumber slices first as a rejuvenating lunchtime eye mask before eating them.

Absolutely the best dining experience we've had in the last 12months. We went in with our two kids (of which one was asleep) and were promptly taken to a table that we chose and sat down. Made an order for 3 different burgers (+ chips and drink) and sat back admiring the decor. Next thing, the manager is coming over with complimentary chicken thighs as a sampler before our meal arrived. Love it. This restaurant is brand new and absolutely perfectly decorated. Different seating options, from Booths, to tables and other areas. We loved it and will definitely be back - probably for some chicken thighs!

Popped in lunch, like I always do when I'm in Dunedin and was served by Daniel. Looked like he might have been on his own, had a few other customers besides me. Served everyone promptly and politely. Food was ready quickly, everything was perfect. Very impressed with how nice and quick the service was. Can't say enough about the experience, thanks!

I went to Nando’s 2 days ago and the food was amazing, but what really made our experience great was the service from the Indian girl who was so friendly and made sure my friends and I were well taken care, she even took pictures for us at the end of the night. Was a great night with delicious food and terrific service!

Oh geez.....what to say about Nandos other than AWESOME SAUCE!!! This place is fantastic. Back in the states we dont have a Nandos, at least not anywhere I've lived. The food is fantastic, the staff are the greatest, and the ambiance is first rate. Definitely recommend Nandos to anyone visiting Dunedin or New Zealand period. Oh and did I mention the chicken is cage free and there are Vegan options.
