This is a cozy bar and restaurant in South Dunedin. One thing that makes me interested is they have specials deals and promotions during the week. So you can choose which suit you. The staffs are friendly and provides excellent services. Price is good, taste yum, cozy dining room, clean and they play the music fairly. Will back next time to experiencing other dish.

As popular as ever, the Rope and Twine was busy early in the evening, early in the week when we visited last week. With no pretences, it turns out consistently good pub food at reasonable prices. The staff are helpful, the service is quick and you get exactly what you expect from pub meal.

The Rope and Twine is unpretentious but comfortable. Plus they have amazing cheese rolls - they cut the bread lengthwise. Enormous, but also really tasty.

Every pub in town used to offer a reasonably priced full roast meal. Not many today but we got the roast for her (half portion, which is handy) and the cod for me. Both meals were nicely done and in good time. Bar service was good. It's an open eating area but the background noise wasn't too bad and you didn't have to raise your voice to have a conversation. Noise is definately a bugbear, so that was nice that they don't overload the space with background music etc. Prices aren't cheap, but not expensive. Probably the only negative was the banoffee pie was a bit overloaded with whipped cream and the pastry was sub par. I had the Eton Mess for desert and it was loaded with fresh berries, yoghurt, and meringue. I'd eat here again and have friends that do every week.

Great experience here tonight! My friends and I have been here 3 times now and we always look forward to the mouthwatering food and service. They've got beautiful new menu! We had the ribeye steak x2, and porterhouse steak x1, mushroom sauce was divine, chicken burger was brilliant and the half ribs were falling off the bone too! Beautiful main meal, couldn't fault it, decided to go for it and have dessert..Banoffi Pie, was really looking forward to it...it was terrible!!!! Very odd taste to it so i left it..the guy came to collect our plates and I mentioned how i thought that the pie was disgusting and his comment...."yeah I don't know why we keep selling the bonoffi pie"....very dissatisfied. 😰

A rather typical pub with the smoking area in an alcove right at the entrance from the car park. This means non-smokers have to walk through the cloud of smokers or face walking around to the opposite corner of the building to enter.
