Not bad at all but nothing exceptional. But price is good and they have great selection of meals. Plenty of seats for lunch but dinner time can be busy. They do have plenty of tables so can accommodate large groups. Never have had any problems with service. Overall, good cheap eat.

I like Tokyo Garden a Japanese restaurant. They have good value lunch deals. I like Bento box meals and they serve up a good variety of boxes. They also have other meals of you don't like Bento. Meals are usually served fast and are tasty. I recommend Tokyo Gardens.

When all others are shutting this is the go to restaurant which stays open to feed and enjoy evening dining. Forget the sake try the plum/ cherry wine you must agree the taste is exquisite the service and atmosphere was great

Absolutely loved the atmosphere and the chef at the party group table was very entertaining making jokes and get participating customers to catch small bowls thrown at them and get everyone to laugh. The staff was very friendly and the place has a beautiful decor and theme. The food was fantastic too... will go there again sometime for dinner.

Had a platter mith mixed tuna , salmon and prawns with sushi very tasty , tuna melted in our mouth, sushi was so tasty also

I went there with friends for dinner yesterday. The price is fair and the food is really good. The vegetarian yakisoba noodles were really tasty (the best I had in years!). I also tried the hosomaki (avocado) and they were really good. The place seems more authentic than other options (really like the decoration) and the young waitress was really polite. Will be back surely. Best Japanese I have ever tried in the city.

Amazing food. Sushi and sasimi made by the Japanese chief. They are beautiful and very fresh. Will come again.

It's a typical Japanese/Chinese/Korean restaurant.. nothing too special about it.. less staff so it's quite long wait. Food just average typical takeaway I suppose not like a restaurant quality. It's good though.

Great Food, Great Experience, and we created great memories for my daughter’s 16th birthday. I can’t wait to try more choices from the menu.

I recommend this restaurant. We had lunch which was nice. The lady who served us was polite and friendly, even though she was the only one managing the front in a busy restaurant.

Tokyo Garden is the only place I will go to get my sushi fix! Absolutely gorgeous food, warm & welcoming customer service, and such a comfortable environment. I’ll never go anywhere else again!

I really can't understand all those bad comments. I've been there twice now and both times it was a very pleasing experience. Especially the Teppanyaki is not only great to watch, but tastes really good and was obviously made out of fresh ingredients. Would definitely eat there more often, if I'd live in Dunedin.

Probably not the most authentic experience, but a lot of fun none the less. The portion sizes are big. I was really full from a lot of meat. The staff are always friendly and nice. Felt very much the same as it did when I was there years ago.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! healthy food and alot of authentic Japanese food. The atmosphere really gives the feeling of being somewhere oriental so it gives an experience at the same time. I will always go back and will keep going back. I Definitely recommend it.

Amazing food. We both cleaned our plates!! The sushi was a bit dry, but still grand. So reasonably priced. Great service aswell.

First time to try Toyko Garden in over 8 years and it's still the same amazing flavour! Got takeaway bento boxes and OMG try spending $22 per person takeout anywhere else and try match how much food you get at Tokyo Garden. Even my McDonalds/kFC loving partner loved his teriyaki beef bento and wants to go back to eat in. Thanks Tokyo Garden!!

Nice food and environment, thinking it might have been a little under staffed as i waited for people paying for meals before i was able to get a drink, also a little more attention to keeping water jugs topped up would have been greatly appreciated all in all had a good time

I highly recommend Tokyo Gardens! I came with friends and we all had great food, bento boxes, ramen noodles and everything was delicious! They are opened at good hours and highly recommend it

I was there with my japanese family. Its ok food but certainly far from authentic japanese tepanyaki. Saying that also the price is much lower so i guess you get what you pay.
