J.We just had one of our best meals in Dunedin at Two Chefs Bistro. Both the food and the service were perfect.
L.My new favourite restaurant. It has the best cocktails I've ever had, impeccable unobtrusive service, an outstanding wine list and all the dishes we have tried so far have been delicious. I am comfortable ordering things here I am not 100% sure of because they are so well thought out and balanced in flavour and texture that I can trust I will like it. Everything on the plate is there for a reason and full of flavour - nothing is there as an afterthought. The terrine is the best I've tasted (I've eaten a LOT of terrine). Tempura salmon was perfectly cooked with translucent salmon in the centre. Duck soup is a highlight. I love the originality of the dishes especially when most Dunedin restaurants are all very similar. Love that the chefs are Dunedin trained. I would strongly suggest however implementing an online booking system as some people these days will only book online and may go elsewhere if they can't
R.My only place to go when visiting Duneidin. Twelve years after my first visit, still simple, delicious and perfecly cooked food. The staff were great. This visit, I met Paige, a newbie, authentic, honest and fun to talk to. Thanks for making my single dining experience so enjoyable.

M.The waitstaff were lovely and attentive. We didn't have more that a 30 second wait for help. Unfortunately the food didn't live up to my expectations. The best dishes were the sides of vegetables. I had the duck which was bland apart from the filo cigar which was beautiful but the duck itself was hard to get of the bone. After almost wearing some of the polenta, which was fine, I left the remaining duck on the bone. My friends both had the sirloin which was cooked well but bland once again. We all loved the side of cauliflower and the broccoli, asparagus, beans and steamed potatoes (although the potatoes were dry with out enough of the labna to help). This was a bit of a let down as the mains cost the most. Starters were fine but once again not exciting. Not rushing back but will try again, incase we just got them on a bad day.

R.This is a great place for dinner in Dunedin. The service is exceptional and the food good.
F.Entree good. Main was mostly good and the sirloin steak was cooked excellently. However the potatoes with it tasted odd and the texture was soggy. The waiter asked for feedback and this resulted in death stares from the kitchen. Good meal but probably not value for money.
Also we had to book later than we hoped and when we got there half the restaurant was suspiciously empty.
J.We had dinner at Two Chefs and were really pleased we did! Lovely restaurant, great service and the food was divine! Will definitely visit again when we find ourselves in Dunedin again.
M.Went for a meal at 5.30 pm on a Saturday. Had a dozen or so people there. I had a salmon ontray, a duck leg meal for main course and my wife had a steak. Both great meals and I really enjoyed mine. Didnt order any extra veges as usually we do but find we dont need them certainly didnt this time as there was enough on the plate's. Had a desert and a good selection. A couple of wines and service and staff were great. Its a older sort of place but plenty of room and clean and tidy but pays to book I would say just to be safe. Its a place I would usually walk by but not now.
A.Dining out in a new city can be a bit hit-and-miss but we hit the jackpot tonight at 2 Chefs. Superb steaks, lovely dessert and excellent wait staff. Huge thanx guys.
T.The food was disappointingly average at quite expensive prices. The lamb leg was tasteless. The seafood mix with coconut tasted good but had a very little serving portion.My husband and I enjoyed a delicious meal with very attentive service. It was a welcoming haven on a freezing mid-winter Dunedin evening. Loved the understated French vibe.

My wife and I dined here right after xmas. It was one of the best meals we ate out for in 2019 and we eat out a lot. The best thing about this fantastic meal was the best steak tartare I've ever had. The steak was amazing and I am generally pretty critical of steaks at restaurants in NZ for a variety of reasons (generally overcooked, under rested or over charred etc). Our lamb was delicious as well, but slightly over the medium rare we had requested. We had the Prawn Salad starter which was delicious. Sour and sweet and tender. Service was great, communication was clear. We also very much enjoyed our dessert which was Pavlova ,Raspberry, fairy floss. Seriously delicious. The ambiance and environment are both excellent as well.
S.Without a doubt the best restaurant in Dunedin. The beautiful hand-crafted food, selection of local in international beverages, the customer service is second to none. We had guests from Europe who literally said "This is the best dessert we have ever had" and they are really fussy foodies. Two Chefs is 100% the complete dining experience in Dunedin, NZ.

J.Two chef's has a sophisticated European atmosphere without the pretension. The staff are exceptional with their approach to caring for their dinning guests and give space to enjoy the meal without a lot of questions. The chef's deliver beautiful and great tasting dishes. Highly recommend.

C.I've been years ago and really enjoyed it, but the style has changed significantly and didn't match what I was expecting.
Flavours and choices have become very conservative. If you're looking for traditional European fare done reasonably well then you'd probably be very happy there. If you're looking for something more modern and quirky, like the Bistro used to be, then you'd be better going elsewhere.

P.Not a big fan. I am wheat & GF intolerant & after hving dinner there on my b'day Tues. night I was sick. They don't hv icons saying GF etc but I ordered off their Plat du Jour- Salmon with cucumber & spuds, & meringue w fresh berries, shld hv bn fine but wasn't. Onion soup & rack of lamb 4 my husband shld also hv bn fine. He was not happy with t lamb & thought that it tasted like anything else but lamb. It is expensive so read the menu & perhaps think twice.
