Absolutely amazing. On holiday I'm fielding and picked Fish King as I heard their curry roles were amazing. Amazing is an understatement. Fish 10/10, chips 10/10, curry roles 11/10, Fish burger 10/10. Will certainly be coming back.

TL:DR - The food from Fish King has lured me in, hook, line and sinker, I now drive from Palmerston North to Fielding for my weekly dose of Fish and Chips. Chips cooked to golden perfection, Fried rice with a powerful punch of flavor, and delicious burgers making you want more. Full review: Absolutely outstanding food. I stopped at Fish King to grab a quick feed on my way back to Palmy, little did I know, this decision would change my perception of takeout foods. I am based in Palmerston North, but have found myself travelling to Fish King for my weekly dose of takeaways, well worth the time and fuel. At the current time of this posting, I am chowing down on yet another dish of their Combo Fried Rice, which is packed with an enormous kick of flavor. The rice is cooked to perfection, not too soggy, not too dry. The aftertaste sticks with you making you want to eat more when you know you can't. The chips, each time purchased, are cooked to golden perfection with the perfect amount of crunch. Somehow the crispy crunch is maintained during the trip back to Palmy, unlike my previous regular shop which would go soggy within the 2 minute trip home. Burgers, this one got me. Outstanding and healthy. Instantly hooked. I ordered a F.K. Burger, their signature burger from what I can tell, The moment I opened that bag of joy, I saw actual fillings - Lettuce, Tomato, onion, crispy bacon and a nice 1/4 pound juicy patty with just the right amount of sauces to tie it all together. There may have been other fillings in there, but to be honest, it didn't last long enough for me to check. My previous experiences with local shops, is generally a thin patty with a spoon of coleslaw. This is my first ever review I have written, as I usually don't think "Man, I might write a review about this place", but the food and friendly staff at Fish King have left me flabbergasted on how good takeout can be!

Has thee best combination fried rice I've ever had, was fill of flavor, got 3 medium servings from 1 order. Meat is tender a juicy. Think this is my new favorite dish from Fish King.

Wow these new owners have it sorted! The chips were so on point I couldn't stop eating them and don't even get me started on the fried rice and sweet and sour pork, the best I've had. Would go ack again and again.

100% recommend - best fish and chips I've had in a long time, would go as far as saying the best I've ever had in the Manawatu! we will continue to travel from Palmerston North for the chips, yum!

Really nicely done fish and chips. The fillets were freshly crumbed just before cooking. Everything was nicely cooked and not covered in grease. We even walked in right on closing and the person behind the counter stayed open to serve us (and the person who came in as we left, well after closing)

Good fish and chips. 😊 someone put minted peas in my prawn fried rice once and it was disgusting. Also, even though I ordered prawn fried rice, it came back with bbq pork. Disappointed.

Wins awards and is a great clean fish and chip shop.... however for me, the fish keep shrinking and the prices are high. It is a lovely shop, but its just not a real kiwi fish and chip shop
