H.Amazing, delicious and fresh food. Tasty drinks. Lime and mint drink, I had 2, new favorite. I ate everything. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean restaurant. Indian music gave perfect atmosphere. Certainly recommend and will definitely come again.
M.The food here was incredible, we ordered lamb shank and whole fish and it was so delicious and beautifully presented. There were variety of cocktails which was perfectly mixed. Staff were nice, authentic South Indian food and good ambience.
M.Ate alone in there at Level 2 the other night. Lovely, we'll set out place. I had their naan, which was most excellent and soft. The plate comes with rice and salad, which had dried carrot which gave it a great splash of colour. The allapeppi fish I had was yummo!!! The sauce/ soup was delish. Overall I really enjoyed it and I'm already looking forward to my next visit. Hopefully with a few friends so I can try more of their dishes. Well priced too!
S.Much needed Indian option in Gisborne. I crave South Indian Kerala cuisine quite often and Fiancé is my go to option. Porotta(Kerala naan) is a soft layered flaky roti that’s very tasty just on its own. Combined with coconut based curries they’re an absolute delight to eat. Chicken biriyani is also one of my personal favourites. Heaps of vegetarian & vegan options and they also do vegetarian thali for lunch (assortment of myriad curries and rice) and unlimited buffet on the weekends. So far all of my friends I’ve taken to over there have loved the food.
S.Visited this place based on rating. If you are in Gisborne, do visit if you want to take something spicy and yummy. Amazing taste and so far we have tried kerala fish, kothu porotta and needless to say, Indian kingfisher beer; 5 out of 5!

Y.The food is amazing! I went with two of my friend today for dinner and ordered Butter Chicken, Grilled Fish and Kothu Parotta! All of them are good and have big portion but the highlight is Grilled Fish with Tomato Salsa! It is just superb! Amazing, fast and friendly service! Definitely, one of the place to go when you are in Gisborne!
M.Decent food, lamb shank is good, fish curry not too much meat, but nice flavour.
Ambiance and music is good. A bit different flavour from the usual Indian curry, more similar to thai curry.

S.This was absolutely delicious!!! So many different flavours and spices in each dish = Great variety of flavours. $17.99 for buffet breakfast which included hot chai tea and freshly cooked dosa (crepe) and a fried Indian savoury bagel shaped accompaniment. The breakfast was entirely vegetarian and all gluten free bar one fried bread type option. My mum who is coeliacs cried as she never gets that much choice at restaurants. The main menu was almost all gluten free also. Meat, seafood and vegetarian options. Lots of dairy free options. The staff were lovely and attentive and provided great, friendly service, and showed my mum which meals were gluten free. We will be returning to try the dinner…..Lamb shank curry and baked fish looks awesome !! I’ll be back for that and a bunch of other items on the menu which look yummm. So good to have an authentic and tasty dining option in Gizzy ! Well done guys !

A.I ordered a spinach chicken and the staff were able to put in some prawn and paneer just as I requested. It was really tasty and what I was needing. I Didn't need to add salt which was great. Garlic naan bread was awesome. I was surprised that the meal come with a salad as well as rice. Was sooooo good.
My cocktail was a fiance special I think, it was very tasty! Also allowed me to have a bit of an alteration cause I didn't like tequila. Was much appreciated.
Great service, friendly staff and did I say great service? Would highly recommend. Next time I want to dine in.

S.We told our grand daughters we were going to Mitre10 on Saturday, that was 10am - 2:30pm we arrive home cos we ended up at your restaurant, surprised with the nice tastie salad & rice, the butter chicken with the best nan bread ever, my wife had just as nice vegetarian meal, food was fresh tastie & the right spiciness we've got 4x Gisborne restaurants sorted, yours is the 4th & last for now we'll be back...thank you
B.I had the lunch Thali and my daughter had the butter chicken. Thali had a great variety of foods and the Butter chicken tasted fresh and homemade (rear in Gisborne). Even better was the service, lovely people. Definitely worth a visit and would come back just for the crispy cauliflower!

Biriyani" is to die for. IT WAS FIRE!! The service we received was so amazing and we will definitely be back again. They made us feel welcomed and gave us an amazing experience.We are so fortunate to have this place just a few minutes drive away from home. Food is stunning and we love to visit this place again and again.....A family ambience and delicious food are waiting for you!!!!

T.We decided to try this restaurant after a work colleague raved about their meal there. We were not disappointed. Fiance has a narrow, unassuming frontage however the restaurant is a deep L shape. The tables are spaced so you can enjoy private conversation but there is still the ambience created from a sprawl of invested diners. It was warm which was welcoming on a very cold winter night. The chicken Mappas and lamb shank curry were amazing. The roti style bread was delicious. In all a delightful experience that we will definitely repeat.

A.Really tasty and generous portion sizes. We got the eggplant with paneer, prawn curry, and appam -- everything was done well and the prawn curry reminded us of the chetty chemmeen we had in Kochi. There were a lot of choices especially for good vegetarian options. Probably the best food out of the 3 Kerala restaurants we've tried in New Zealand.

C.Finally a good restaurant in Gizzy! Not to be confused as just another bland butter chicken... I just did the weekend breakfast buffet (which was only $17.99!) and there was an amazing selection of South Indian delights, most made on demand hot too. my Mum who can't have gluten was in heaven and it was all vegetarian too. This sounds like a paid promotion but I'm just genuinely stoked to have this as an option in Gizzy now! super friendly staff to , thanks!

S.Delicious weekend lunch buffet. You can order your regular curries, eg butter chicken, but there is so much more opportunity to taste authentic South Indian foods. Lots of vegetarian curries and options in the buffet, with fresh dosa and Pura brought to the table once we were seated. The savoury doughnut and ginger tea were a delicious way to complete the lunch. Will definitely be back!
